The royal family: Slavery, colonialism and race

2022 ж. 22 Мау.

In the Caribbean, some people are calling for the British monarch to be removed as head of state, and for the royal family to pay reparations for their role in slavery.
We explore the royal family's uncomfortable links to slavery, colonialism and race in the countries where King Charles is the head of state.

  • Whenever people have asked for reparations, they’re told it was in the past and to get over it - and yet the enslavers were being “paid back” from public money in 2015. Disgusting.

  • My great grandfather, who is still alive and is 103 year old told me a story of how one day the british came into his town. They went through every house and got all the books and burned them. They broke down the school and arrested the teachers. And they left warning them that they aren't here to be educated, but to be slaves to the empire. He grew up illiterate and has never fully learned how to read and write. This was in India and it was the norm.

  • I see many comments highlighting that slavery has happened and nothing can be done and at this point and time everyone must moved on, its all happened in the past. 1. Slavery wasn't not about physical dominance, it was about stripping the identity of those countries, as well as the wealth of its country. 2. Slavery hasn't stopped, in the contemporary world those countries are still grappling from the grip of its colonial masters. Humanitarian aid id pretended to be sent to Africa, the Africa with abundant gold reserves. 3. The coloniser nations are prospering on corrupt stolen loots of their ancestors. If they truly mean it that they do not support colonialism they should send back Gold and artifacts looted in Africa. And they won't send it back because Europe is barren and resource-less. The only Country that has resources is Russia and it is apparent during this Sanctions and what's interesting is that Russia never colonized a single state in Africa.

  • Here in New Zealand any one that works in Government, police, judiciary, military...etc, make their oath to Queen Elizabeth the second, the Queen of New Zealand, her heirs and successors. There is no entrenched constitution here, and sovereignty resides not in the people from where power is derived, but in the monarchy of which none of us are a part, and these oath takers make no oath to protect its people, but continue to rape and pillage for the "Crown" and the "Royal Family" in the form of a constitutional monarchy, democracy is nothing more than mob rule, and its that mob that make the rules. It is time we moved forward and cut the apron strings of the monarchy, they have stolen enough from indigenous peoples from around the globe, and continue to flaunt their genocidal theft in the form of "Royal Tours", their apologies mean nothing, especially when they still live off the massive fortune from the misfortune, genocide, theft and atrocities that were caused to millions of others in the name of their family that gets inherited by their heirs and successors, then so too should the consequences be inherited. Just my thoughts.

Credit to Her Majesty for her role and for supporting a Canadian initiative to apply sanctions to the apartheid government of South Africa - which resulted in the release of Nelson Mandela from prison. Rather than a time to have empathy its become an orgy of vile selfish demands from people, their group identity and moral supremacy. The weight of 10,000 years of human suffering unjustly thrust upon the royal family. How did it become so easy to dehumanize a group of people derided as racists and colonizers as if they were homogenous in their bias and equal control over the means of production at the expense of marginalized groups. I suspect this rudimentary dialectic of skin color has created a hateful selfish WOKE drones controlled to tear down our common humanity and individuality. One word comes to mind: evil. Simply evil.
