As a sound engineer, I am absolutely loving how they are sounding on a smaller stage than usual. And Eloy is bringing me back a little hope, something I always thought has been lost since Joey departed. It's just amazing to see them rock out in a smaller venue, where you can literally hear that they are still a great live band, not reliant on studio production, and can keep in league with the heaviest of them out there. I like that they seem to be embracing their own legacy now, and going back to revisiting their earlier sound that everyone loves, the sound that made them. This could be the beginning of the golden era of their resurgence as all time classic acts!

Small stage sound is so damn good. I think half the difference is the slower tempo too. I’ve been doing a lot of comparisons of Jay vs Eloy live footage and they play the songs soooo damn fast with Jay. I’m amazed Corey could could keep up. Curiously, Eloy gave an interview to a Brazilian newspaper in which he said he broke 15 drumsticks during this first show because he played harder than usual due to being anxious about the debut 😂
50 years old, 25 years as a full time touring musician and Corey sounds better than ever. Have to respect that.
And thank god he’s learned to respect his own body and limits, maybe it’s being a dad or something but he’s definitely more in control of his ranges now and knows how to still scream without destroying his vocal cords for the night.
To be fair to Corey, he's sounds this good since he stopped drinking before WANYK. They just wrote the bullshit The End So Far.

Did you notice how Jim didn't skip a bear when tossed his pick to the crowd and grabbed another one after the intro of the song. It was flawless. I swear Jim doesn't get the credit he deserves as a guitarist
You can tell he has a lot more time to actually do his thing without blasting through every passage like it’s almost dinner time.
@@thomaswilliam2808Jay got fired for that reason. He can’t keep time for fucking shit. It was so bad he was literally back tracking his kicks because he couldn’t stop rushing the beat. You can see just how bad he is when you watch his studio performances of the slipknot songs. He’s constantly checking around to make sure he’s in time, he’s always pushing right against the tempo or going past it and he’s so much more focused on playing fast kick runs than playing something that works with nu metal. Jay was just a spoiled rich kid who got lucky.
