Para mi courtois ha heredado el dorsal 1 con todos los honores :3 Dicho esto, Iker casillas es el mejor portero de la historia indiscutiblemente , y no hay que olvidar que en realidad el fue quien nos dio la copa del mundo (su parada 1vs1 a robben ocurrio 20 minutos antes de la prorroga y del gol de iniesta, por lo que de no haber estado casillas hubiesemos perdido el partido)

What he lacked in size he made up for in agility and reflexes. And had fantastic positioning. His best save was that toe save against Robben in the final, an all-time great save and helped win Spain their only World Cup. Beast! And I have always been a Barcelona fan.

I started playing football back in 2009/2010 because of my father's influence, and upon trying out a few different positions, I soon realized I fit none of them well and didn't like playing outfield, so my last resort was attempting to stay in goal, and turns out I was kind of decent at it. Dad, like every Brazilian dad, was stoked that his son found an appreciation for football, and so he would spend a lot of time and money nurturing my like for the sport, buying me actual sporting gear, gloves, boots and my first ever team shirt. Soon after, the 2010 WC was unfolding and I watched almost every single match as they were broadcasted, but some of the greatest memories I have of that time were Casillas' saves during the final against the Netherlands. We were all grouped together home and everyone got to see that crazy toe save he did against Robben. Casillas soon became one of my main inspirations, and I wanted to be a professional keeper like him. I tried out for a few clubs and got picked by a local regional team for a tryout, which I decided to take and actually went pretty well, but didn't quite make it. A little later on, when I was 13, I just kinda... stopped growing. To this day, I'm still the same height as I was seven years ago (162cm lol), and so my dreams of playing in goal as a professional dwindled a bit... ...until I learned about Casillas' stature. Just above 1,80. Sure, not my actual height, and not something I could dream of achieving, but it was enough to give me a faint glimmer of hope and make me continue, just on a different setting. I found myself playing more "seven-a-side" and "five-a-side" football (apologies, English is not my main language), with smaller nets and fields to accomodate for me, and it was a blast. I had a team of friends and we used to play against teams from other nearby cities and I really liked to think of it as my personal professional career, even if it was far from it. My personal favorite type of save was, and still is, the ones where the ball rolls across the area, close to the goalline, and you just dive in front of it as someone comes kicking, like a wall being built to protect your net - something Casillas, as seen in the video, excelled at (0:18, 1:35). In a time when I felt like giving up, Casillas, even if indirectly, helped me keep going and made me see there's a place in football for anyone. I'm now almost 20 and, as much as I haven't become the professional I once wanted, I can't help but feel like I was extremely blessed by learning about such a great goalkeeper when I was younger, because who knows if my love for football would stay the same if I hadn't. TLDR; Spain beating the Netherlands made me like footie

He was the reason I started watching Real. His ability to run from one post to the other and dive to save a super easy tap in was insane, I feel like I have a chance to score against him from 40 yards out than a 1 on 1. Such a shame he was treated the way he was and basically kicked out before our greatest 3 year run in the CL

I started playing football back in 2009/2010 because of my father's influence, and upon trying out a few different positions, I soon realized I fit none of them well and didn't like playing outfield, so my last resort was attempting to stay in goal, and turns out I was kind of decent at it. Dad, like every Brazilian dad, was stoked that his son found an appreciation for football, and so he would spend a lot of time and money nurturing my like for the sport, buying me actual sporting gear, gloves, boots and my first ever team shirt. Soon after, the 2010 WC was unfolding and I watched almost every single match as they were broadcasted, but some of the greatest memories I have of that time were Casillas' saves during the final against the Netherlands. We were all grouped together home and everyone got to see that crazy toe save he did against Robben. Casillas soon became one of my main inspirations, and I wanted to be a professional keeper like him. I tried out for a few clubs and got picked by a local regional team for a tryout, which I decided to take and actually went pretty well, but didn't quite make it. A little later on, when I was 13, I just kinda... stopped growing. To this day, I'm still the same height as I was seven years ago (162cm lol), and so my dreams of playing in goal as a professional dwindled a bit... ...until I learned about Casillas' stature. Just above 1,80. Sure, not my actual height, and not something I could dream of achieving, but it was enough to give me a faint glimmer of hope and make me continue, just on a different setting. I found myself playing more "seven-a-side" and "five-a-side" football (apologies, English is not my main language), with smaller nets and fields to accomodate for me, and it was a blast. I had a team of friends and we used to play against teams from other nearby cities and I really liked to think of it as my personal professional career, even if it was far from it. My personal favorite type of save was, and still is, the ones where the ball rolls across the area, close to the goalline, and you just dive in front of it as someone comes kicking, like a wall being built to protect your net - something Casillas, as seen in the video, excelled at (0:18, 1:35). In a time when I felt like giving up, Casillas, even if indirectly, helped me keep going and made me see there's a place in football for anyone. I'm now almost 20 and, as much as I haven't become the professional I once wanted, I can't help but feel like I was extremely blessed by learning about such a great goalkeeper when I was younger, because who knows if my love for football would stay the same if I hadn't. TLDR; Spain beating the Netherlands made me like footie
