He does this because he feels safe and also needs to cool down. Yes dogs don't have sweat glands but they can release heat by opening up their tummies to the cooler air in the room their stomach has less fur so it holds in less heat.

Zoologist here, they do have some sweat glands in their paws, which can sometimes make their feet smell like corn chips. Though, everything else you said was 100% correct. 💙

hey your videos are really helping me understand my husky more! could you please give me advice on how to stop behavior like food hoarding or eyeing people/dogs when eating his food. he came into my life a year ago as an abandoned dog (without collar or anything and a HUGE coat) and his behavior has improved tremendously (he was so bad) i saw the video on how to feed your husky and been doing that as well, i really want to undo the bad behaviors he has learned
