New from Southern Cross Small Arms (SCSA) is the Taipan X. It’s a rifle aimed at hunters and designed for quick follow up shots having a pump and straight-pull action. SCSA have said that the Taipan X has the precision of an extended range rifle, so I was curious to see if my newest rifle was as easy to run and precise as they said it is.
**intro title says 6.5 Creedmoor, it’s actually in .223 🤦🏻

Shooter from the United States here. The Taipan seems like a really fun gun. I do not make it my business to comment on other countries gun laws. So forgive me if suppressors are not allowed. But that looks like an ideal rifle in 300 Blackout with a can. Shooting subsonic s with a good 30 cal. can would make it whisper quiet and still have plenty of thump out to 150-200 yards. And with supers out to 400-500. Or even 350 or 400 Legend. Anyway, great vid! Gonna give you a like and share on X young man!
They are looking at making a .300 version soon I’m pretty sure! Thanks for the share and feedback 🤝
@@precisionrifle1Do they export to the USA ?
Where do we get these in the U.S. ?
Check Legacy Sports.
Shy of a suppressor, about the only thing that rifle could use is a decent blast deflector like the Breek Arms Castle Blast. It sends the concussion downrange and cuts recoil a bit. Much nicer for the shooter and those around them. Dang KZhead/Google hate legal gun owners. It is criminal that this video only has a couple hundred views. Production value is excellent. I just shared it again to pump up the numbers. Try tagging/Titles/Descriptions all the accessories. Like your scope, Magpul magazine, Bipod etc.. It helps with the algorithm.
cheers for the vid mate. looking forward to more
Thanks for the feedback!
🇦🇺😎👍Hey mate I used the first generation rifle and I was impressed . However I notice the finish on the rifle did mark / scratch easy. .Don’t know if they fixed all the issues on the gen 1 but if they did I’d be interested in getting the gen 2 ..Great video🏁
So proud as an Aussie that we're making such fantastic quality guns.
Any chance you could review it from a bench rest side of things haven’t seen an one try shoot this thing for groups yet as a review. Been following the rifle alot an from what I’ve read if someone did a bench rest review might persuade a few more to buy this rifle
That’s my intention to show it a little more from the bench/prone style
Hey mate, have you had a chance to look at an Axor Bushpig button release? Not a lot of feedback on them and I'm keen to get one.
Will have a review posted in the next couple of weeks, stay tuned!
@@precisionrifle1 Awesome stuff!!!! Thanks heaps man!
Is it worth picking up one of these bad boys up?
Yeah it’s a neat unit, no regrets 👍
What height rings did you need for the scope? I've been told they need to be kinda high, but haven't actually had a good look yet
I’m pretty sure they are medium rings. It’s a small objective lens on the scope and it’s a straight 0 MOA Pic rail the entire length
@@precisionrifle1 thanks for the quick reply
Is this available to purchase here in the states?
Yeah through the US distributor www.legacysports.com/taipan/

Does anybody know if different caliber version are gonna be available later in 300 Blackout, 308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor &. 224 Valkyrie?
I think 300 BO is on the cards for the end of this year from what they said on their FB
We need this in 6.5 prc or 308
Would love one in 6.5
Wedgetail industries mpr308
@@keenanwilson9784 which costs more than twice the amount
@@keenanwilson9784 Wedgetail MPR prohibited in NSW unfortunately.
@@keenanwilson9784 also double the price
Is it classed as a pump or bolt action?
pump
It's a straight pull with slide assist not a pump
can you change the buttstock or nah?
There are aftermarket adaptors available, there’s a Taipan group on FB that has them in there
🇦🇺😎👍🏁
6lb trigger pull OMG, why so heavy !
