  • Moving from factory rifles to custom was one of the best decisions I've ever made. And the price point of those MPA rifles is awesome! Would highly recommend to anyone who's serious or getting serious about long range shooting or rifles in general to just go ahead and pick up something nice. Some of those rifles are the same price as Tikka T3X TAC-A1s! That's crazy!

  • Seems like adding a bipod will help move the balance point forward, a little bit anyway. I ordered the pro ii with folding stock exactly purpose of cleaning. I like that a lot. I shoot a savage precision currently, that has an adjustable cheek riser and I have to loosen set screws and lower it every time I clean it. Not hard, except I never have adjusted quite the same.

    @pigroper5@pigroper5Ай бұрын
    • A bipod will move the balance point forward dramatically but it doesn’t matter if you’re shooting from the bipod. Where balance point matters is shooting from barricades/positional shooting which is a major portion of PRS. Most people aren’t going to be running a bipod during those events.

    • I am not a huge fan of custom actions since I have competed for decades with blueprinted Springfield, Mauser, Winchester, and Savage actions. Buttery Smooth is not something I can measure down range. In this case though at $2600 for a complete rifle I can not think of any reason not to like it. I think $2600 for a rifle ready to mount an optic and go compete with this is very reasonable. Now if we can just get the prices of big name brand optics down not going to hold my breath on that one! If you put an Arken Optic on it you could be all in for $3000. If you go Mark IV or NightForce or March you will be pushing $5600 to $7000 depending on if you buy new or used!

    @cfzippo@cfzippoАй бұрын
    • For rifles with additional barrels you want to stay in the same action types. 300PRC is a long action and while you can run a short action barrel/cartridge (.308/6.5 creed/PRC) they’re not going to feed properly. You can do .338 Lapua with a 300Prc, 7PRC barrel… etc. Or 6.5 creed with extra .308, 6.5 PRC, any 6mils barrels.

  • Hello PT, on the MPA Ultralight Hunter, does it come with a Swiss Arca rail, or is there an option to have it built with an ARCA rail? Also, are people seeing better long range consistency with 300 PRC or 7 mm PRC? Many thanks!

    @danielmccarthyy@danielmccarthyyАй бұрын
    • The Ultralight Hunter does come with an integrated arca rail. All MPAs do. Both 300PRC and 7PRC are unbelievably good. 300PRC definitely has more energy and longer legs but it’s very soft shooting but either are excellent choices for hunting or just recreational long range in general. Thanks for watching! -Gary

      @paramounttactical@paramounttacticalАй бұрын
    • May I inquire further? When you say the 300 prc us “soft shooting”, is that a joke because it has heavy recoil, or are you serious that an 8 pound rifle plus scope in 300 prc really does not kick that much? Any input is appreciated. I have owned and shot 375 H&H, 458 Lott, 500 NE and 600 NE, but the latter two are only fired offhand.

      @danielmccarthyy@danielmccarthyyАй бұрын
    • @danielmccarthyy take a look for yourself. Here’s my 8 year old shooting it. He ended up shooting the full 20rd box and would have shot more. It’s shockingly light recoiling. When he fires a round in the video, watch how little the rifle moves. The weight of the rifle and the MPA brake contribute to that but all things being equal I didn’t feel a noticeable difference between it and 6.5PRC. kzhead.info/sun/a7OHccmnjoNvd58/bejne.htmlsi=0z8JwxWwwuKxxaoH

  • I wonder how it and the GAP PPR would compare and contrast each other. I know the PPR is more expensive out of the gate

    @jacobpost7888@jacobpost788810 күн бұрын
    • The PPR has a manners 2TA stock which isn’t a chassis and costs less than a ESR chassis. So you have a manners stock paired with a Curtis action which is what MPA used to use but now uses the better more expensive ARC Coup De Grace action. Given the sum of the parts are significantly cheaper I don’t know how GAP justifies the price of their gun. The Manners stock is over $400 less than the ESR chassis and yet the base price of the rifle is $400 more. Makes no sense to me. With the MPA you’re getting more for the money. You get a built in Arca rail, mlok compatibility, night vision bridge, the option of a folding stock, a rifle that can be used for PRRS, a better action… $3000 for a PPR makes zero sense in comparison.

    @rogerdavis2056@rogerdavis2056Ай бұрын
    • It’s up to you. By the time you modify it, put it in a chassis… etc, you would likely be close to getting a new rifle. You can upgrade the parts but you still end up with a factory, Remington Sendero. Does it shoot well? What’s the intent with it? Hunting, LR shooting? All of those factors would change the answer that unwired give you.

    @IndividualWon@IndividualWonАй бұрын
    • Well you’re clearly not a PRS shooter and don’t understand the design features. It’s not about HOW MUCH weight it’s about WHERE the weight is for customizing the balance of the rifle. These are design features pro shooters wanted. If the Matrix Pro II doesn’t make sense to you, that’s why they offer the Matrix Pro.

I believe X-caliber made the barrel and it was junk. After several emails and phone calls, MPA never made it right. All they did was suggest using different projectiles that were virtually impossible to procure. That garbage rifle ended up costing me the regional finale.
