The effort that went into that! Particularly the two trains meeting so the golfer on one could hit the ball resting on the other one! Superb, intelligent writing, and beautifully performed. His "silent" sketches were easily as strong as his spoken ones, a quality he shares with Benny Hill and Dave Allen. :-)

Some of Marty's filming done in the village I grew up in, the church scene is Harmondsworth. The film crew wanted to use my Nan's window for the bathroom scene...my Nan refused! The coach trip sketch he did features a fair few views of my village, and people sadly no longer with us.

One of the funniest sketches ever from one of the funniest men ever from one of the best sketch comedy shows i've seen! It was shown in USA as a summer replacement show in the early 70's and i still remember it fondly. I would love to see the photographer sketch ("one more please") or the flower shop sketch again! Bless you Marty, Peace to you.

This was filmed at the Liphook Target Golf Range and the Longmoor Military Railway (LMR). In June 1969 I did a weekend cadet camp there-the railway ran from Liss via Liphook to Bordon run by the Royal Engineers. We looked around the sheds and that big engine (General) Gordon was in there. The railway was shut later that year and dismantled. We were doing rifle practice near where he is on the train before going into the under bridge where Gordon runs him down. Gordon lost his head in Khartoum!

Didn't Rowan Atkinson had a similar sketch where he chased his golfbal all around town? Maybe it was inspired by this =D

The music at 0:32 is Pierre Gossez's Toccatina from the album Come Bach, I can't recognise the other pieces but I bet they belong to the same album.
