  • It's amazing how the same song, sung by two different people, can have such a different feel. Adele's version just sounds like a breakup song, and Bruno's sounds like a love song.

    • You're right in different ways but, Bruno always gives them flowers. In several interviews and in every single show that they are together. (on this same show... listen to what he says when is saying goodbye). But the fact that they are so incredibly talented and can be successful individually, yet, over so many years, they prefer to continue with Bruno, points us to another gift from Bruno: An excellent leader who gives due recognition, both in honor and respect and financial. This makes me admire him a lot because it signals a person with a good heart and a sense of justice. And this is rare among stars of this magnitude.

    • He's like that, very humble. when he formed Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak many people thought it would be all Bruno and little Anderson, because, well, Bruno is way more famous worldwide. But in Leaving The Door Open they surprised the whole society by starting the song with Anderson first and put Bruno literally on the side.

  • Incredible. Bruno’s version/arrangement brought me straight back to the time of ‘90s R&B and all the feels a la Boyz II Men, and Jodeci/K-ci & Jojo, and all the other greats of that time. It makes your heart swell and brings back the butterflies of being in love. Adele’s interpretation also incredible but left me feeling the end of that relationship, the breakup, the pain, the heartache. And this is the journey an incredible song sung by incredible artists/singers/songwriters can do. What a power. A true super power.

    • This song means a lot to me. I’ve recently lost someone. She was a new student at my school. We talked from Day 1 to the last day. We were close. Really close. However we couldn’t date because of her extremely strict parents. I’ve never had anyone treat me the way she did. Her jokes. Her smile. Her voice... made me madly fall for her. She didn’t feel the way I did at first. She loved someone else ( still couldn’t date him). She didn’t tell me she was in love with him. He was close to her like I was. It was obvious that she liked him. She would tell me she prefers me. Yet, she would sit with him and talk to him everyday... while she tries her best to ignore me. It sounded like I was only made for online chatting. Several months passed... and the guy stopped talking to her... after she forgot about it... she told me she was happy cause she got closer to me.. and then shit happened... she confessed her feelings.. we tried to make it secretive.. 3 weeks have passed.. and i noticed something weird in her behaviour.. she wasn’t texting me first ( i mean never).. she wouldn’t bothor replying despite being online... when I faced her with it.. she told me she can’t act like a GF when she’s hiding it from her parents... I understood and it was respectable.. Yet i was only asking for more attention and her company ( might be selfish but no it’s not)... her mum read the chat... she told her to get away from me... the next day she started saying some mean ass shit.. and it was over... 2 days later she sent me an apology email... she wants us to stay friends... I’m hurt.. I’m broken... I don’t know what to do... and what hurts me more is that she’s able to be happy even tho im not in her life anymore... she gave me hope fir a possible relationship.. then ruined it when my feelings have reached their peek.. Seriously, life can be unfair...

Many don't understand Co writing, etc,. The fundamental writers who brought the song to Adele was Bruno Phillip, which is why they do not need to per mission to sing it!

  • I think it's safe to say that Bruno Mars is the most talented artist in the music industry right now. I mean he writes/composes his own music, writes hit after hit for other artists, he dances and makes the iconic choreography himself, he plays like 10 different instruments, he has crazy Good vocals (plus he sounds great live unlike most artists these days) he only knows how to produce songs that are bound to be hits, and overall he is just a great performer.   • To all who commented that Bruno was oversinging in this tune, I personally think he was just using a highly chesty mixed voice for this song, which is why it gave that slightly 'painful' and strained sound if you will. Maybe for other tunes this is not appropriate, but for this song the slightly forced sound gives the emotional edge and 'sadness' it needed. That being said, the man killed the performance (in a fantastic manner).
