  • I appreciate you spending your time and effort to upload an honest review about your time with this car, you'll get a lot of "hate" in the comments, but that's what happens when people see you don't like the things they like, keep up the good work

    • Yeah I appreciate the comment. I’ve gotten death threats from this video and I just don’t understand the rage. I explained many times this was the cheapest model GM produces and people still have issues. I for one am thankful I was able to sell the trax shorty after this video and virtually loose no money. Even if I could keep one person from buying this car it was well worth it to make. Dissipate this being the cheapest model, there are still things that it should have that it simply doesn’t.

    • Nice looking inside and out, but no hybrid option, mediocre mpg for segment, and many hybrids available in segment for a bit more money. No AWD is problem for those living snowy, hilly area.

  • Honestly if i am going for cheap pricing like this car, my expectations shouldn't be very high. The point of this car is for people on a budget that really don't care about power or luxury. They want something that gets you from point to point. I actually appreciate chevy making a car like this.

    • I agree totally, a really nice vehicle at a very affordable price for those that have to stay within that price range, or for those that don’t put a high priority on expensive cars and just want good transportation, that seems to be reliable and attractive. It’s satisfies a huge niche if you think about it. why blow $50,000 on a vehicle that you don’t really need , cannot realistically afford or just think it makes you look better in it. You can do a lot with the difference in the money, like make your mortgage payments and property taxes and credit cards….and sleep at night. It’s only a piece of sheet metal remember, and after a year or so, the novelty wears off on just about everybody, or it just gets damaged, and they’re already looking at what’s up next.

    • 100%. If KZheadr BlakesCars2 wants to pay double the price of this vehicle to maybe get a more luxurious ride go for it, but the Trax caught my attention in the grocery store parking lot. The starting price shocked me. I don't have a ton of savings, but I'm going to definitely give this a test drive as I'm looking to replace my 2012 Ford Escape.

    • This. Add in that the car is comfortable to ride in and looks really good for its price range while also having features as staples while more expensive brands charge you monthly to use them really does make this car a great deal.

    • Last time I bought a car (1 year ago), I told the salesman " it better have at least every feature my current car has OR BETTER, or I ain't buying it". The only issue, my previous car had a Homelink rear view mirror and the new one didn't... I said "put a Homelink mirror in it and it's a deal, but I ain't buying a new car without it" And they did! I'm very happy with my new car I bought last year... no regrets.

    • You are a pretender. You say you test drove it, but you didn't notice that it's really too small for your height? Didn't notice the basic bare bones interior.? You should have tested on curves, older roads. Etc. Why did you buy an entry level vehicle when you allude that you're used to sooo much better. You should have known better. This is not a hate letter, and I don't own a chevy. I'm a Honda driver who had my fun with Saab Turbos. Gone, alas. If I went with a Trax it would be for budget reasons and I'd know I was down grading. Your hate of this car is misplaced. You made a very poor judgement and have corrected it.

    • @@jodymercier8811 Also there are Tons of videos on this and they all mention most of your dislikes. 🙄 Sounds like you didn't do any research before you bought it and probably just drove it around the block on your test drive. Heck I noticed the arm rests and steering wheel issue before I even pulled out of the dealership then the sunroof buffering on the Fifteen mile test drive. But there is a company where they make a much better antiquing strip you can DIY. And all you need to do for the arm rests is buy a twelve inch square sheet of 1/8 or 1/4 "adhesive soft padding. As for the steering wheel I kinda agree as I'm 6'4". But all I had to do was tilt the seat back one click no problem. The 2023 year had a different instrument Custer and is no problem what's different from 2024 is the instrument cluster have been used in the trailblazerbut the 2024 now has the 2023 trax Custer. I've driven my friends 2023 trax around a lot driving his 82 year old mother around, Doctors appointments, shopping, taking her to visit her friends some that live forty plus miles away . But I don't drive 80 or 85 on the freeway more like 70,s. And average about 30 to 34 MPG on the freeways. Your video is Ethier like you didn't do Any research or you just bought it to Rag on it and thrash the heck out of it. The minute you drove it off the lot. I feel sorry for whoever does buy it from you. 🧐

Not just a nicer interior, but has much more sound insulation, it appears to be a bit more aero shape (at least in the back) for high speed cruising, and is available with an improved rear suspension as an option (standard on Avenier).

This car is amazing for the price... after engine break-in period this is a whole different car... I'm 6'2" and I get in and out so easy, as a matter fact I was surprised by how much leg room you get in the back seats after from seat adjust for someone my height! Suspension is just fine, nothing rattles in this car either... how about fuel consumption, you have to understand it's a 3 cylinders car, and if you think you can be hitting the pedal all the time.. obviously gas consumption will be terrible.. but under normal driving this car does very well, to me this is miserable people just reviewing out of so much hate! When you compare this car to a Corolla S which I have drove plenty of time, forget it! I will keep the Trax 100 times over the Corolla! Also you said you hit your head getting in.. I am 6'1" and have zero issue. The value of the price for a brand new vehicle is undeniable. You also got the lowest trim. Try a 2 RS. Also putting the steering wheel in your lap isn't normal. Been out for a year and a half overseas and nobody made the same comments you did.. No professional reviewers did either. I'm not a lead foot driver plus I love to coast to all red lights and stop signs so my gas mileage is 30 mph and better. When I looked under the hood the engine has turbo stamped on it and it does get up and go. It does have all the Bells and whistles when driving. Both outside mirrors warn you of side traffic and warns you of the car in front of you with red blinking dots on the windshield. Only thing I would complain about is having to use my signals when switching lanes because it has a safety traction control to keep you in your lane and there is a little resistance when switching lanes. For those of you that text and drive great safety.

  • I have a Chevy Sonic that I brought back in 2017 for an MSRP of $22,000. I think what Chevy did with the Trax at is around $26k price point is quite the feat with how inflation has been going. While watching your video, I would compare your critiques of the Trax to my Sonic, and some of them they share. They both have noisy AC compressors that go on and off when they feel like it, they both are slow with sluggish transmissions, and they both have hard plastic in places like the armrest (it's slightly better in the Trax, not even rubberized in the Sonic). My Sonic had a rough ride when I first bought it but after I put a decent set of tires on it the ride was much better. Some of your complaints like not being able to see the gauges with your preferred steering wheel placement, the buffeting sunroof, the disconnected steering feel, and the sloppy suspension are things that it seems the Sonic does to better. However, the Trax has many features the Sonic did not have such as all four windows being auto down (front two in the Sonic), a much nicer interior, 4 disc brakes (rear drums in the Sonic), auto start stop, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and lane keep assist. With this in mind the big question mark for this vehicle for me is the engine, and will it be reliable. Otherwise, I think this is a really im0pressive car at its price point, emphasized by the comparison of my similar priced car from Chevy years ago.

I have two friends who have a 2020 and 2022 Trax's and they love them the one friend is hard on cars and that 2020 hasn't missed a beat. Granted it's a 4cyl 1.4 like what i hand in my 2016 Cruze which I liked very much and yes the transmission didn't downshift quick enough because they are set to only downshift if necessary for fuel economy. And that is something I don't like either. I get an average of 31 mpg and lots of my driving is in my small town as everything I need is within 2 miles of my house. The trailblazer is a step up from the Trax like it's suppose to be!!! The trax is doing what it's designed for getting around to your destination and in higher trim levels in more comfort. I'm old so I remember if wanted a basic Chevy you bought the Biscayne, wanted some bells and whistles, you bought the Impala and paid the price difference. For me, just about anything that's not similar or identical to a 2007 Trailblazer will be better than it. the only other car in the segment that really piques my interest costs considerably more and will be harder to get due to demand but a Corolla Cross Hybrid SE/XSE would be my only real new car contender in the segment that would draw me away from one of these.

      @BlakesCars2@BlakesCars29 ай бұрын
    • @@BlakesCars2 the only Japanese brand in my mind that is compelling on the used market is Nissan, primarily the Rogue (prior gen), Rogue Sport and Altima (5th gen refresh if lower miles and good history, and 6th gen again if lower miles and good history), because of the price premiums you pay for Hondas and Toyotas is ridiculous because you're still getting a used car at the end of the day and I don't really like the majority of the ones that are even in that price range ($27,000 or less) (I don't consider Mazda because there's only two compelling cars of theirs to me, the 4th gen Mazda3 and the CX-50.) However and this is the caveat for Honda, a 10th gen Accord 2.0t EX-L though that's super close to brand new Elantra N territory and is out of the window of budget Im wanting to spend lol Im going to overlook Subaru because the only model that interests me is the Outback in it's most recent form.

Not a patient guy so just pulled the retaining clips out and tossed them. I got a lot of rubber tape. Only $50, when I could finally find one. (The dealer did not have one) But did GM re did it? Oh and the 45,000 mile service. $660. But it is OK for city driving. Freeway not so much. I also have the bare bones model. It can get 30 average. But you have to be patient. But I can also get 25MPG with a Bullitt Mustang ( floating the gears). Neither are fun to drive in snow. Oh and sun roofs. Two kinds: It will leak some day. It is leaking I would rather drive the 2003 Envoy most of the time.

  • It’s an honest review, and I can appreciate that, buuuuuuuuut I’m confused about your “hate list”. MPG ratings (28-32 city/highway) isn’t calculated driving 80 mph, the speed and power issue was to be expected, this isn’t meant to be high performance. You’re 6ft or over? It’s to be expected you’re not going to rest comfortably. I feel like you were looking for a performance car, which this absolutely isn’t. Love your videos, but this review is a bit unfair.

  • Trax is a run around vehicle for 85% of trips ; short urban use. Most people do not drive 80 mph on the interstate or freeways. Not where I live in N.C. and not in SoCal where I left 18 years ago. I had an 89 Lynx with 90 hp that was fast and now have an 05 Caravan SE with 2.4 4 cylinder that carries a full size mobility scooter with lift. 158 hp. It also goes fast. If I load it up with 3 age 11 & 12 grandkids, camping gear , two big kayaks and the scooter; it may kick down to 3rd gear on the Blue Ridge Parkway. So what ! How often do I take that trip- once a year! Trax was made for sensible, adult drivers. If you are a Yankee red light racer ( like 85% of "drivers" in Durham Raleigh Chapel Hill), get something else.
