I'm a Commanders fan, and as much as I like Jayden, I like Maye even more. He will be better in the long term, and he has played in the Kingsbury-style offense, where he balled out. I would be happy with either one, but Maye's potential is through the roof.
"Better in the long term." Explain please. Then explain why Jayden wouldn't be long term because Jayden is demonstrably far better.

Tez Walker for sure has a shot in this league.
I like his mobility although that’s not what he features I just think of the times I’d see cousins get out in the open and be able to walk for a first down yet throw it to a guy who’s covered those are some of the decision-making things I won’t miss as far as how good this guy will be who knows but it’s time to take a chance
Or check it down for 3 yards on 4th and 8 with the season on the line.
How do you get highlights of the real players I wanna learn how to make them
IF Vikings can find a miracle to move up a whole lot and get Maye. they will see a brilliant career and maybe a Superbowl.
I'm a pats fan and it's sounding like this kid is coming to NE and I'm lukewarm at best, his "highlights" are deep balls to WRs that beat coverage or under thrown balls none of these have been throws that wowed me. His WRs won't be that open in the NFL and an under thrown ball has a much higher chance to get picked in the NFL...I hope we don't take him.

Right! Thats exactly what I'm saying. Im like the deep balls are cool to see but just tall strong WRs that be killing the cb in collage! Can't do a damn thing in the NFL, they can't create any separation then they are trash caus either dBs are bigger stronger and faster! Look at nkeal Harry! Well its the same for these big arm guys that can't go and throw for 10 to 15 yards with Accuracy! Look at the jets future franchise qb haha

For those of you stating that he has a weak arm with the under throws, You’re coached to underthrow a receiver when they’re wide open - ensure the completion. Secondly, some of these deep throws are to guys who are his third or fourth read. By the time he clears out from pressure and checks off his other reads, they’re 40-45 yards downfield. He has an above average NFL arm.

The more I watch him the more I see why he's a Top 3 prospect. I wasn't sold at first but depending on what system he ends up in he can become top tier. If he slips out of the Top 3 I would want my Giants to trade up for him. Daboll would work wonders with him.

@BillyBob-ti2fz tell me why Spencer Rattler isn't the 2nd best qb in this class...he's gotta quick release(essential in the NFL), can throw 60 yards down field off of 1 foot accurately. He wasn't spoiled with one of the best offensive lines, WRs, and coach like the top prospects like Daniels and McCarthy. Rattler is prepared to succeed in the NFL. He had 1 of the worst offensive lines in the NCAA and played some of the best defenses in the NCAA. I would say he's a hybrid of Russel Wilson and Mahomes. He's gonna di very well in the NFL.

This is enjoyable. The lack of arm strength posts and the underthrow posts. I'm about 10 minutes in and I think I saw my second underthrow which appeared to be intentional due to the DB forcing Walker toward the sideline. Prior to this the only pass I would even call poor was the the middle of the field toss to Paysour which was behind him but if you genuinely believe all these throws to receivers being caught in stride are "underthrows" you should move onto another sport.

So i wasn't impressed at all the first time i watched. But i only watched a few minutes and figured i had seen enough. Lots of underthrown balls. But i decided to watch the whole thing and analyze each play since i was getting some conflicting views. The highlights definitely got better later in the video. Lots of good deep passes in stride. Problem with this video is it doesn't give you the whole picture of this guy because it is all big plays and mostly tds. It doesn't show how accurate he is throughout a whole game. Im gonna watch some entire game replays so i can see all his plays. Im gonna say so far he looks pretty damn good and creative like Mahomes to make things happen for your team. I would definitely be okay with the Vikes taking this guy. In my defense of not liking him at first, only 3 out of the first 12 plays were good accurate plays. Thats not NFL caliber. But after watching the whole thing he had 31 out of 60 good accurate passes or good runs. Which still isn't NFL caliber (50% wont cut it). But i did see some great throws and creativeness. But i need to watch a couple of full games to see how accurate he is throughout, not just on tds. 1st pass..underthrown 2nd pass...good in stride 3rd pass...ugly underthrown and off the mark to a wide open deep receiver 4th pass... terrible punt lob pass underthrown, easy pick if dback turns around, receiver bails him out again. This is picked off all day long in the NFL. 5th pass....not terrible but a little behind. If he hits this guy in stride its a TD. 6th play....run for td. NFL defense are way faster and this would never happen. He looks tiny in college and probably cant take too many hits in the NFL. Better be an early slider. 7th play...tough throw on the run. Pretty good but underthrown. 8th...waaayyy underthrown shoulda been a td 9th...perfect throw in stride with d in his face. Nice 10th...again underthrown 11th...slightly underthrown probably a td if hit in stride 12th...unimpressive run. Again NFL speed this isnt so easy 13th...nice run escaping a colapsing pocket 14th...um what?! HE THROUGH THAT LEFT HANDED!!!! WITH A GUY HANGING ON HIM AND ANOTHER BEARING DOWN ON HIM!!! That was pretty bad ass. But in the NFL he doesn't get that pass off. 15th...good deep ball in stride 16th...qb sneek for td 17th...good timing throw in stride 18th...qb sneak. No big deal 19th..excellent fade to the end zone 20th...nice in stride deep ball 21st...ok lil shovel pass 22nd...nice in stride split defenders 23rd...nice in stride 24th...bad. behind. Shoulda been picked 25th... a little underthrown but tough throw with pressure on the run. Great play. 26th...good but a lil behind. All kinds of space in the middle to lead that receiver away from the defender 27th...slightly underthrown. Could have led the receiver a little more and taken the defender completely out of the play. 28th...nice in stride 29th...well done but easy pass to rb 30th..nice pass in stride where only his guy could reach it 31st... nice in stride 32nd...ok run 33rd... underthrown 34th...nice pass 35th... little behind 36th... nice deep in stride 37th... nice deep in stride 38th... pretty good run when things break down 39th... nice deep in stride 40th... a little behind 41st.. coulda led him to the outside 42nd... behind 43rd... okay pass to tight end 44th... underthrown 45th... way underthrown 46th... okay run 47th... way underthrown 48th...nice run 49th... decent pass 50th... okay run. Woulda got killed in NFL 51st... nice creative play 52nd... nice pass in stride 53rd... nice pass "right down the chimney" 54th... pretty good pressured throw 55th... nice run but dont do that in NFL 56th... okay run 57th... very nice throw 58th..run 59th... nice run 60th... decent

It amazes me how many people don’t know how to break down tape. Some of his issues are correctable. The biggest thing is understanding how quickly he processes, and at this level gets through 3 reads before checking down, something that we’ve seen starting nfl QBs fail at. Add to that, he has the athleticism to make something happen out of nothing. Provided he gets onto a team with good coaching he’s going to be a great NFL QB. For his sake I hope it’s not the Bears.

Poles is a great GM and we have a new OC so I’m hoping Bears get it right and go get this kid. All I can do is hope, the Bears seem to be getting it right but too many disappointing decisions for me to go all in and think “this is the year”

But this highlight reel didn't show him going through reads and then taking the check down. It showed him throwing to wide open receivers most of the time. It did show several nice throws over the middle into tight coverage but other than that most throws was to receivers 5 yards or more ahead of the dB. I'm not knocking Maye I'm just saying that this video of highlights doesn't impress much, I'm sure just about all college quarterbacks can make throws to wide open receivers. Again I'm talking about this specific video and what it shows. Other than a few over the middle and some good runs the rest are "easy" throws. This video doesn't show him under pressure really at all or about decision making under pressure. I'm just saying you could probably make a video of throws and runs just like in this video of any starting qb in college

@@NineballChris Trey Lance had one good year at North Dakota state as too young of a player and Zach Wilson had absolutely 0 tough competition and one year of play at BYU. Drake Maye can throw to the middle of the field and has amazing arm talent, if he’s allowed to sit and learn he’ll be an amazing prospect.

Maye has potential and obviously very young in progression. However imo, Jayden, Caleb and Penix are demonstrably far better straight out the box.
Kind of reminds me of Justin Herbert. Strong arm, size, mobility. I think he would be a prefect fit on the Vikings.
Can see the size. But the arm isn’t anything special and the mobility is there from a standpoint of can walk and get you 10, but outside of that not seeing the comp. Herbert was better in about every way coming out.

the main thing that worries me about him is his nonchalant lazy footwork especially on the dropback. it's like he's a statue back there with no hurry up. i know people often talk about the arm or the mental processing or whatever but the legwork is the most important thing and if you don't have that you're not going to be a starting caliber QB in the NFL.

First minute in and he throws to guys wide open and throws a hope and prayer that is answered. I just don't see a top 3 guy and throw in the fact he lost 7 of his last 9 games in 2022 and 2023 playing in the ACC. He lost his last 3 games in 2022 and 4 of his last 6 games in 2023. Every time his season was on the line they lost. The only good game I've heard about him is the 2022 Holiday Bowl game. After he lost his last 3 games of the season. He played well against Oregon but Oregon won. But it's the Holiday Bowl. How much enthusiasm did Oregon have?

I’m blown away by the arm strength. Many of his deep balls are coming in hot and are on a rope. He’s not throwing these high arching rainbows that give defenders time to get there. It also tells me that if he has the arm strength to throw it those distances in a rope he could easily launch them high if he had to throw early and let a speedster catch it.

He’s got the arm talent, but if you notice, on NONE of passes is he going thru his 2nd or 3rd reads. He focuses on one player as soon as the ball is snapped. That is not gonna fly in the NFL, those corners/safeties are gona are gona hone in all day. Not saying he’s gona be a bust, but that would be something I would need to see how fast he processes his reads under pressure
