Put 60 on it before I even registered it, Runs great, tight balanced handling and stopping, A little bit lacking in acceleration but kept up at 68 mph well. Great workmanship and incredibly good on fuel, Looks and sounds kool old skool. Very nice inexpensive motor cycle. Glad to support a brand that cares about quality with out ripping off the public. • Love how this company employs men and women alike in the assembly line. In most other auto manufacturing units, cars or motorcycles, women are usually relegated to upholstery or cosmetic work and not with machine tools and engine assembly. I'm glad to know my old bird too had a few ladies who contributed equally in putting her together, same as the hardworking young blokes here as well 🤘 The legacy of equal employment opportunity is an added feather in the Enfield cap. • @@areebhussain4856 In an ideal world, sure. But you know well that's not true. Some jobs are usually relegated to specific genders. How many primary school teachers in schools are men? See any growing up? How many sewer line workers are women? That's just how it is and you know it. Assembly lines in most automotive companies are predominantly men. It's just heartening to see women standing up and being counted in jobs that have traditionally not been taken up by them. Can't you be glad about that, man? C'mon.

      @anirudhsinha2369@anirudhsinha23699 ай бұрын
    • @@acswain6720 True. These jobs have traditionally been done by men. It's arduous, long shifts, and whatnot. Many women in India (because this is in India, and Enfield is an Indian company) who don't come from privileged backgrounds are still expected to work and handle responsibilities beyond their vocation, i.e. household management. Therefore, working arduous jobs becomes all the more difficult. Things are changing now. Stringent gender roles are being redefined. Equal opportunity and equal employment is a good thing. I'm not complaining at all. But if you suck at it, you should get the boot, man or woman. No bias there as well.

  • When I bought the INterceptor 650, I tried to read more about RE. They went into more labour usage instead of full automation like most motorcycles. Some of the roles like the guy we see hand painting stuff and others are only in the family. It is like the family job that is continuing till today. The company still supports its people and provides employment. So, for every RE we buy, we are helping the company hire more people than machines. I am more than happy to buy RE for the reasons they hire people to do it and are still cheaper compared to other brands. And our western media don't say that India has more equal representation of men and women in their work place than any country in the world with no reservation and quota. Impressive.

• Make us old guys happy and produce a Classic 650 that brings back the bike from the 60s. Chrome full fenders front and rear, not that stubby little front fender that never was, plus dump the cheap painted rear fender with the cheap rubber/plastic mud flap. What’s that all about? Just a very cheap look. The exhaust also must look like it’s from the 60s not this swept look that spoils the classic look, plus easy to get a burn from the hot muffler as it sticks up in the way. Same design as the 350 classic muffler. And chrome the exhaust system. Like your classic 350. Bring back the chrome spoke wheels, dump the all black wheel look. The lower fork legs need to be polished or chromed, not painted. Save the money on paint. The seat needs to be changed it’s terribly hard on the butt. That’s an easy fix. Add some class to the seat for long rides. Chrome out or polish the upper fork brackets. The controls on the handlebars need some shine. Or polish them. You guys spend the money on a needed oil cooler, then ya paint the entire engine black. Paint ( black) holds heat in. Polish the engine cases the only black on the engine would be the barrels of the cylinders. A better classic look. Ya build a great bike, just fix the problems of the ugly blackout look. That’s not a classic look. Chrome will get ya home!! Hope you take my thoughts to heart. And make an old rider relive his past. I’m very sure you’ll sell more classic 650s with the real 60s look than the ugly blacked out cheap look. If some customer wants a all blacked out bike, let them order it that way. Don’t stick us with ugly cheap black paint. Future buyer when I see the change.

Tanks and frames were gold striped with wire frames clipped on and painted with roller boxes the painters would mix the paint by hand.

However, during normal maintenance I realized there was not a single bolt or screw the same size or with the same thread or head. It looked as if they had just dragged a box of spare screws/bolts over and assembled the bike with whatever they had. I make this comment as I rode with a Nepalese Enfield Club and it was they who first pointed this out. Spend one afternoon with them making everything right on the bike. Also purchased a pair of hand made leather saddlebags for the bike as well. It was the perfect bike for my daily commute and to explore. Loved the sound of the engine and exhaust.
