I’m a black guy, and I get criticized for liking this group. Family and friends say that it is “white folks music”. Honestly, I don’t give a damn what they say. I love this group! They are an awesome group with some cool music. Good music is good music, no matter who is producing it! Gin Blossoms are unique and special. I love them! Peace.
Yup there are lots of talented people from every single race and ethnic background.
@@natashadahl6603 - I agree! Def Leppard is my favorite band of all time! I adore them! Great band! Good music has no color! Period! Peace to you!
That's pretty closed minded....Music is for everybody. It knows no color, creed or race. It's suppose to bring people together, not alienate them from one another.
@@darincampbell467 Love me some Def Lepp, great band. Love Bites is one of my fav songs of theirs.
@@mizzoupatriot8814 - Oh! Great! The song that did it for me was PHOTOGRAPH!!! When I heard it, back in the 80’s, I was hooked! I became their biggest fan and still am to this day. What a great band! Def Leppard also showed real friendship. Remember, when Rick Allen lost his arm? They didn’t replace him. He got a new drum system and kept it going. He is a friend and part of a family. I just adore Def Leppard. They are indeed my all time favorite band. There are many good bands but, for me, they rise to the top. They have aged, but they still rock! I always look forward to new material. None yet and next year, they go on another huge tour. Like the rest, but love the best and that is- Def Leppard! Peace.
Who is still here in 2024? God I miss the 90's.
You and me both. 😢😢 Music is my time machine. ❤️❤️
Present
🙋🏼♀️ just finished Empire Records because it's Rex Manning Day!
Me!!! I just heard this song from the radio... suddenly gin blossoms stuck in my head...all over again...love old old songs ...❤
Amen!
2024 anyone?
Here I am! May 3. Wishing I was back in high school again.
✋
Claro que sí!
✌🏼
Here!!
This band is one major reason being 90s teen was so awesome
I miss the days when songs like this were on the top of the charts.
Me too
I remember a bunch of people at the time saying that this stuff was crap, and that they missed the days when songs from the 80's were on the top of the charts. I also remember in the 80's when a bunch of people said that the music then was crap, and that they missed the days when songs from the 70's were on the top of the charts. I also remember in the 70's when a bunch of people said that they missed the days when songs from the 60's were on the top of the charts. I also remember...
@@jasontibbetts2852 ... that you are kid
@@jasontibbetts2852 Well, melody, harmony, skillful instruments (or at least the sound of organic musicians),genuine emotion and a great tuneful hook were big in the 60's-90's. It's pretty fair to say that very good rock/indie music exists today, but is more fringe and not exactly on the top of the charts. In fact, the past 10 years (or more) on the charts, feature mostly tuneless, unmelodic, hyper-processed, digitized, meaningless, unemotional ''products'', written by 20 ''songwriters'' and produced by just as many (give or take). There's a few examples of rare songwriting prowess on the charts (Taylor Swift can write some strong tunes), but melody isn't emphasised anymore, nor is authentic musicianship. And today's artists steal the once innovative stylings from the 60's-90's without contributing anything. Plenty of really good music outside of the mainstream, but the last great songwriters/bands are largely absent, mostly because of declining artistic/musical standards, and a ''dumber'' society.
wait till stranger things play this in season 5 :D
This song makes me happy and sad......happy because it reminds me of my youth, sad because those days are gone......
But look how much wisdom you’ve gained
Life marches on
That's called 'nostalgia'. It's physically painful.
Totally agree with you , 90s still in heart
This life isn't the end... despite what fools tell you, you don't really think all of this would exist for a few years for you just to be torn away from consciousness do you? Trust in Jesus, all are reborn, it's 100000x better than nostalgia, i know, i'm Mr nostalgia over here.
Wild to think these 20-somethings are all in their 50s now. Time flies so fast.
One of those band....not a megaband but has a permanent place in our 90s hearts.
There are certain 90’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
yup... and i was older than they were.
Takes me back to a great and horrible time..I enjoyed your comment!!
This song reminds when I was young and it makes me sad😪
Any of the Gin Blossoms' hits.
Absolutely, although to the songs credit I felt that way hearing it when it first came out, it just embodies that vibe
That opening guitar riff makes me stop in my tracks, every single time. Even all these years later.
I love 90’s music. It always felt like summer.
Youre right,im 45yrs old now,i used to listen to this song and the likes over cassete tapes i borrowed from classmates..90's music is my summer music ,i miss it like crazy
90's music forever
90’s RULE❤
Agree🙂 Most '90's Music reminds us of a beautiful sunny afternoon🥹🌄#Late90sKid😉👍
For me it always felt like fall, or maybe like the end of summer going into fall...
Why can't bands today look how Gin Blossoms did it. Hard work and soul searching.
Right?? What the hell happened?!
I miss the 90s so much. It's like a break up that's taken 20 years to get over.
That's a good way of putting it.
It's been 40 years and still haven't gotten over the breakup
I still haven't gotten over it. Also my old girls the 80s, 70s, and 60s Still hold a place in my heart. I was born in 85. Music turned in to dogshit around the year 2000 and hasn't gotten any better in the last 20 years.
I love this, could like it 1,000 more times
Baba Cane - Wow, great way to put it. And I feel the same way. Sadly - I am afraid I will NEVER get over it.
2020 and still listening..Who's with me?
and The Wallflowers 🌻❤
Yessssss ,couldn't agree more
You Bet
Absolutely!
Here!
What an amazing piece of ear candy this is. There's no waiting for the good part. It's literally hook from start to finish.
RIGHT ON ✅️
Totally agree!
Insightful!
I am a 68 year old grandmother. I love this bittersweet song. It evokes the same feeling I get when I hear The Left Banke “Walk Away Renee”. The words in this song are a bit more angry. Great music.
You love good music.
I'm a 57 yr young grandmother who slaps the Bass guitar 🎸and I love to play along to this 😉✌
Ntuc
Both are great songs.
Oh yes that's a great song too!!!
That opening guitar riff plays and you are instantly back in the year 1995 and 16 again..
WORD! You said it, Matt. Was mostly into Gangsta Rap back then and considered these guys 'college music'. Now, decades later this song is the epitome of that 90s radio sound that can never be replicated. I miss it so much.
Yep,but 17 again here
Same
Yep 17 here also. Didn't get any better than this.

90's WAS A GOLDEN ERA. Great time to be young. So many memories and good, GOOD, GOOD MUSIC. IT WAS STRAIGHT MAGICAL.
Drew's Corner - Drew C. Ryan why?!
Magical. Please, tell me more Steve Jobs. :P
Hey bro, it's the 90s
@Drew's Corner - Drew C. Ryan you got that right. Everything changed after those two events.
@Drew's Corner - Drew C. Ryan globalization, new world order %1 plan gendrification, iraq war, recession, technology, social media "im a star" egomania, and no real music especially the 2010s, 90s the last great decade and the end of the american empire ironically right after we won the cold war and "won" the first iraq war. But hey at least i remember it like my mom does the 60s, some of our younger millenials only know this post 9/11 dem vs republican pelosi trump blame game bullshit
High School Vibes. Love my life now, but miss those days.
The hallmark of a good song is its ability to transport you back to past times, places and relationships. This song does all that.
AND bring you home again.
and transcends time. as if it was just a freshly song. This craft is timeless
The 90s gave us such great music and we took it granted.
True, compared to the shit you hear now. Or on reality TV shows like the voice ect
You can say that again... There was a wide variety of rock and pop, back then
no, I lives it. all if it. ❤
You know life has gotten complicated when you have a glossy rose-colored nostalgia for the 90s, similar to the way your parents did for the 50s...Long live Gin Blossoms...
+Christopher Johnson So true!
☝🏻️😞
Quotable!
God I love this comment SO MUCH! Long live the Gin Blossoms!
Too bad Doug Hopkins didn't even make it to the mid-90's. What a shame! I loved their music. I remember when our favorite song was "29", for obvious reasons at the time. So much potential lost.
This song was better than Jealousy !
90s had great music.
The perfect pop song.
When it was new someone at Rolling Stone called it "The Almost Perfect Pop Song".
The 90s is America at its best !
Was one of my favorite songs in highschool......I picked up my 2 year old from daycare today, as this is her first day of daycare and her first time being away from her mother and me. As I was watching her play before I got out the car....this song came on, so I decided to live out my highschool days for a few minutes, and ended up recording my daughter running and playing, she fell but got up and dusted herself off. Brought a tear to my eye.
Here’s to the 90’s!! 🍻
After seeing empire records I wanted so bad to work at a record store, it's a shame they don't exist anymore.
Nobody owns music any more they just play it on some device.

@@marioarroyo2006 I didn't know of that specific example but thats awsome, I was just saying I dont think you can say physical music is dead. Well at least good music
This song is gorgeous. I have such a soft spot in my heart for great melodies, smooth vocals, and fuzzy guitars. It takes me back to a time and place I can't return to.
Feel the same such a great band melodies and a time a long ago never to happen again
If it takes you to a time you can't return to, then it took you to a time you can return to.
Fuzzy guitars. Yes!
May 2024 anyone?
One could get lost in the eyes of the guitarist with the red top.
I somehow feel that people were better in the 90s, and the world was a better place.
I totally agree with you!
Not exactly
If you only knew what 2020 would bring 😟
People were definitely more fun and easygoing.
People always say this about earlier decades. People in 2040 are gonna say the say the same about music from 2020.
this kind of music seriously needs to make a comeback
Yeah they deserve to be back huhu
8 years later and your comment still rings true
Ahhh those were the days. Gin Blossoms were all over the radio. So were Counting Crows, Green Day, Chris Issak, REM, to name a few. The 90s may have been one of the best decades for music. Along with the 60s, of course.
Damn the man, Save the Empire! Love Gin Blossoms. Amazing song, so 90s
Empire Records hehe
+DisneyEndings SHOPLIFTEEEEERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+DisneyEndings ah the 90s!
Joe: [to Warren] How old are you? Warren: Old enough to kick your butt through your skull and splatter your brains on the wall. I Still have the video on my pc :) love watching over and over :)
Take me back to the 90s where dumb phones ruled, people still talked to each other and music still meant something.
+Mark Meason or maybe even as far back as the 70's and 80's with all the relevant music to come out of those generations....oh, I miss good music.....but not really...we can always listen to this
Best comment ever Mark!
+Mark Meason Only 80 years to go before its the 90s again-the 2090s. lol
i agree! i just said - i loved the music in the early 90s.
music now has meaning its just not on the radio or talked about you gotta find it
Man the 90's were just so full of life.
90's video staples: Centre partings ✅ Brightness/contrast turned way up ✅ Flashing transition ✅ Man in silk shirt hugging himself ✅
This is the quintessential perfect 90's pop/ rock song. Those hooks really get stuck in your head.
the 125 people who disliked this take advice from fools
They just figured everything was cool.
haha I see what you did there..!!
+Matt Roman Amen to that!
Until they hear it from you
Decent song, crappy Calvin Klein model-stuffed video.
Still listen to these guys - great memories and a simpler time ✨
This song was introduced to me by my cousin early 20s. One of the best underrated band..
40 years from now, historians will look back at the 90s and call it the last decade worth a damn in United States history.
True, probably. It was the last "American" decade of music. Twentieth century freedom. Now the GOP has the country on lock down as much as they can.
Music-wise, maybe. Imperialism was never a good look, even in the 90's.
willia451 the early-mid 2000s were awesome too, probably up to 2006.
90% of any medium is crap, time is a filter that removes more and more of the crap until only the best remains. Thats why old music always seems better all the awful stuff got forgotten.
Eh, the 2000s were cool, but only because of the war. God I fucking miss Afghanistan.
Grab my JNCO jeans and my skateboard, the 90s ruled
I used to buy my JNCO jeans from Meijer in 1998...before that, had to get them at the head shop, Paradise Express lol. Times were so different in the 90s.
2021- 0.85x speed is perfection 2031-
Hearing this song makes me travel back in time..until now I still want to listen to this song over and over
This takes me way back when the telephone was an option to talk to someone. Chatting with friends face to face and listening to the same music together was so fun. I remember calling the radio station requesting songs like these. It felt like heaven when my song was next. I only listen to songs now from the early 1900s to the 90s and maybe 2000s but it depends. I do appreciate indie artists today. I avoid the mainstream ones that do not make any sense. I thought songs are supposed to help us and not make us feel worse. It all got ruined after bubble pop music started popping up. oh well.
I wasn't even born in nineties bust trust me, I wish if I could just be the teenager from that time getting influenced by real music rather than the garbage that we hear nowadays
Till I hear it from you, woo woo woo woo woo
I just saw Gin Blossoms play at Fremont Street in Las Vegas. It was so good.
i remember my Gf buy me this album,.,. and now she is my wife now.,.
congrats esteban!
I wish I had a romantic story like that. Glad there is people out there who have actually found true love. :)

Congratulations man really you guys are lucky and should take care of each other no matter what. Not all of us were fortunate to grow old with our high school sweethearts.
@@maburaho347 don't worry someday you will find true love.
The intro to this song is straight nostalgia. It always takes me right back to being a kid.
I think I had just turned 30 when this came out. The 90s were incredible. My girls are 36 and 37 now, and they knew every word of this 👍
I'm 37, sounds like you're about my moms age.. funny, one of my best friends fathers when I was growing up had the last name Guarino..
Miss the 90s... Times were so good then.... Graduation 97
I was born on 1995. So I’m 22 right now, and I love 90’s music. Just something about 90’s fascinates me. Sometimes I wish I was born on the 80’s lol.
"Til I Hear It From You" I didn't ask They shouldn't have told me At first I'd laugh, but now It's sinking in fast Whatever they've sold me Well baby I don't want to take advice from fools I'll just figure everything is cool Until I hear it from you It gets hard The memory's faded Who gets what they say It's likely they're just jealous and jaded Well maybe I don't want to take advice from fools I'll just figure everything is cool Until I hear it from you Until I hear it from you I can't let it get me off Or break up my train of thought As far as I know, nothing's wrong Until I hear it from you Still thinking about not living without it Outside looking in Til we're talking about it, not stepping around it Maybe I don't want to take advice from fools I'll just figure everything is cool Until I hear it from you...

Empire Records ❤❤❤
This fills me with so much nostalgia, I almost want to cry
I want a "Behind the Music" for this band.
I think I've seen something like that awhile ago.
They do. Check KZhead.
Well, there is kzhead.info/sun/eL6Nh6efjnVpfqM/bejne.html then a 1983 interview featuring "The Psalms" with Doug Hopkins. Then 1989 with Robin Wilson (talks about Doug)kzhead.info/sun/ZcicgdSgrH2QeX0/bejne.html And a 1992/3 interview with Wilson and Leen (said Doug was the source of their songs) And then kzhead.info/sun/hK2vd5WpgYprank/bejne.html where Robin says they made savvy business decisions and jokes about suing (after 4 minute mark) and milking opportunities (after the 5 minutes). Well, when they lost Doug they really hurt themselves.
it'd be sad as fuck
0U8123MTA3 did you read that article in The Detroit News written by a friend of Doug’s? Or maybe it was The Detroit Free Press. So great and tragic. Hopkins couldn’t beat his demons.
My mom used to have the biggest crush on the singer. She still listens to them like every day. Reliving old times.
Tempe is celebrating them today for 30 years!
I knew the Blossoms from Long Wongs in Tempe back in the beginning. There's no better music or group of guys. I'm in Bloomington IN and went in an old record shop weeks ago looking for some 45s for a non musical project. The guy didn't have any except in the warehouse and said he'd give 'em to me. I picked them up yesterday but just looked at 'em a few minutes ago. One was an unscratched copy of Found Out About You & Hey Jealousy. What are the odds? I've been crying for half an hour... mantenerse bien
In the mid 90's I was 35 years old... and this song still reminds me as if I was still 18... Thanks Gin !!!
I was 30, so was Robin in 1995.... both born in July , 1965 a few days apart I loved , still adore this band.

Just saw the Gin Blossoms a few weeks ago. They are still touring and still sound great!
Just saw them at the end of august in Toronto, they all still look and sound great!
I hate my pain, so i run to the place that i won't hurt anymore and thats where i abuse myself with things that are bad for me but i don't feel when i run there. Its too painful to feel my own feelings. So i choose the road where i don't have to think about a damn thing.
What a neat, catchy sound, this song really stands out from that era. Fantastic.
Excellent timeless classic. RIP Doug Hopkins.
The best the earliest 90s never forget this beautiful times wen I was so young end so happy days love it❤️❤️❤️
when you get that feeling that you need to escape today and travel back in time to good ol yesterdays. Where did yesterday go? Seemed like things made more sense back then.

Life was better, I know that much. Way better.
This music makes me feel nostalgic, like a yellow light from a window of a house across the street when your having a walk in autumn. It kinda hurts my heart, but I can’t stop listening.

It’s true the 90’s is the last great decade. Never knew it then but looking back now and it definitely was unforgettable. Before the world changed and basically a time before things all went to ****! I love using KZhead to take me back and remind me and help me find all those good songs from those great times it’s a wormhole I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get out nor want to, it’s just hit after hit from back then. And music meant so much to me then as it does now… if not more.
I didn't have cable in the 90s, so I never got to see Music videos. Just me locked in my room for hours listening to the top 40 radio station. I had no idea these guys were so attractive.

I am 48 now, this was a song from my glory days. I was trying to explain to my 10 year old what music was like from the 90's and showed her this. I have probably added 10 plays on the watch count. Such a great band from a great time in life.

This song has been in my head since the 90's. It is still there. Probably one of the best rock songs ever. I cry when I hear it. It talks about hope and people thinking about each other, but ultimately the singer needs to hear from his girl whether she accepts him. Best song ever
