I did not answer her - there is no need to coz I do not owe her an answer. That really UNNERVED her, drove her round the bend.). Greetings from Singapore !

Recently I watched a lot of videos about introverts, and I started to realise I am not alone, and I am not a weirdo. Finally, I have come to peace with myself. It gives me this enormous feeling of rest. I want to thank all other introverts.

On the other hand, being extrovert doesn't mean you have to be friends with everyone in the room. And so as being friendly is different from being a crowd pleaser. And being quite doesn't mean you have nothing to say.

    • Most self-proclaimed ambiverts are just extroverts who are capable at times of being less extroverted. I mean, what this woman described could also be classified as an “ambiverts”, but you WILL have traits that dominate. Ergo, you are more of an introvert or an extrovert, even if you have qualities of the opposite. Duh.

I take time to watch whereas as an extrovert is always ready to speak to new people and always trying to expand their circle. This is the time when I observe and I end up figuring them out whereas the extrovert finds out way later who that person is whether it's good or bad I'm 10 steps ahead because I kept my mouth shut and watched lol I don't befriend people right away.

But, if I'm with my friend or member of my family, away from everyone else, I'd become loud and talkative. It's just better to talk to who you trust.

    • @sofiymarik I'm 15 and I'm an introvert. Back in elementary and middle school, I used to be an extrovert, and I befriended almost every kid and teacher in the school without knowing them. That just lead me to be betrayed, like one time during recess, no one invited me for a football game and when I came, they didn't even let me in the field and that's when I realized not everyone is trustworthy. I'm in highschool now and I've been an introvert (for over a year now) and honestly, it's fun spending my personal time, everytime someone asks me something, I just ignore them knowing that they will start up a conversation and waste my time and seek attention from me. Everything has changed alot and it's amazing to be an introvert. But the one thing that annoys me is when people say, 'you don't talk alot', 'you are so quiet' and etc. Also being an introvert has increased my patience alot. Have a great day!

I like to speak thoughtfully and with kindness, not just blurt out the first thing that comes to mind lol. I value peace so much and find it in prayer and worship🙏🏼 I love my Latin American culture- it’s vibrant, energetic and loud💃🏻 But for a long time I felt rejected by my own culture and tried so hard to be more like my family and friends. I’ve learned that I am my happiest when I’m true to myself :) Thank you so much for this video!! It’s helping me see there’s nothing wrong with being an introvert; it may just be a gift😇 God bless!!

She doesn't say much but it seriously pays to listen!" The bosses started to listen, and I started to find more and different ways to get my message across. A win-win!

  • Being introverted is not the same as being shy. Most shy people are introverted but that doesn’t mean even the most introverted people are shy. As an extreme introvert, I actually find it more difficult to talk with my friends than talking with strangers. And I really really like talking to strangers. It’s so easy. For a while I thought it was some strange, inverted version of shyness. But as I grew older I realized I wasn’t shy, and the reason I had difficulty talking with friends was simply because of childhood trauma in which best friends rejected and left me. I was just shying away from topics and saying things which might recreate what happened to me in the past.

  • This video speaks to my soul!! I've always been told things like "You're so quiet", "Why don't you ever talk?", "You SHOULD talk more!" etc. And who knows what more they have talked about me behind my back. I wish people could have seen what was going on in my head at those times. My inner world has been and is more interesting than having superficial talks with people. But those kind of people never understand this, and unfortunately they won't. They disrespect our natural choice to live a calm life but they never get questioned for talking too much or being too "lively". I now know that people who talk more than needed definitely have much more problems than the ones who "never talks". The talkative people I have met were either narcissistic or had some kind of insecurities. I might be one of the unluckiest introverts since I have had to live in a student dormitory with different people every year for 7 years and I find silence much more valuable than anything now for a peaceful life. The more I find myself having to spent time with people other than some people who appreciate my reserved nature, the more I love being and spending time alone.

I pushed the extravert in me to an extent I became blunt, because that was warped version of me to get the respect from my environment I wanted. I didn’t know how to act, I was lost, I developed an alcohol dependency. Now as I get older, I respect the introvert self more and more and find more inner peace. My Dad always told me the reason you have 2 Ears and 1 Mouth is so that you can Listen before Responding, so I've always taken that advice literally. I'm always the most quiet in any group I'm with, listening, smiling or laughing to everyone talk over each other, just waiting for others ask me for my input or opinion. 🤣😂 I literally get exhausted in groups bigger 3 or 4 people and easily fade away, but I have great friends and family that know how I am and they respect me as I am.

  • I often feel criticized for being an introvert but everyone is different. Not everyone is an extrovert and not everyone is an introvert. In my opinion, I love being an introvert. I feel safe in my bedroom, I do go to parties because they overwhelm me and people do some pretty stupid sh*t at them and I do not want to be involved in that. I do like to go out sometimes only with the people I feel comfortable with but I mostly like to stay home by myself in my room because I find that fun to me. Don't let people shame you for being an introvert. You know what makes you happy and if you staying in makes you happy then thats what matters. You do you! People often mistake introverts as shy people. As an introvert myself, I am shy around people I am not comfortable with but i'm not shy around my friends and family because I know they are nice to me and won't say mean things to me. For people who are extroverts, good for you guys. If socializing and going out makes you happy then thats what matters.

I remember how lecturers kept giving me lower grade for daily class because I wasn't speaking up and he would keep writing comments asking me to talk in class full of unfamilar people and how it is to help me in the future... I wish teachers and lectures would understand about the different personalities and judge better.

    • This happened me too many times in school, my grades are pretty good but my teachers would rather talk about my quiet personality and inactive demeanour in class instead, like imagine you worked your butt off to get those grades but all they talk about was your personality that you had been born with, i was so sick of that mentality, i'm still an introvert but in high school i started enrolling myself in more extra-curricular activities, ironically, those activities require me to talk more, like debating and choral speaking, but i find myself comfortable doing those things because those were what i'm passionate about and i would rather talk about more serious issues among debaters rather than striking up a random conversation between friends or people about a random topic, So in conclusion, if i know that topic or i'm very interested and passionate about something, i would definitely see myself joining the conversation however if it's really not my cup of tea or my taste or i literally have nothing to say, i would rather coop up in my room or just be that random person in the background

  • Omg... just yesterday my 10 year old daughter said, “this isolation thing doesn’t bother me at all, I don’t like going out anyways” 😐 She’s an introvert, she can sit for hours at home at one place, doing arts & crafts, writing, drawing, colouring etc... she’s not lazy, she can do that for hours & not get bored of it! She hates going out, especially shopping & to crowded places! She prefers gifting handmade cards made by her, to her loved ones on birthdays, Mother’s Day etc.. she’s sensitive to peoples emotions.. she makes double sure that everyone’s okay with her decisions... She cares deeply but doesn’t know to express it by hugging or kissing or won’t say it cos she’s too shy! She’s accommodative & understanding! She finds a quite corner to sit, at family get togethers.. she’s often judged for it.. she’s also often compared to her extroverted cousins & told to be like them.. that upsets her a lot! She’s told to smile more.. she’s just not okay with small talks when she meets her extended family! At the same time she can be extremely talkative with people she’s comfortable with, so much so that, she can spill all the family beans & I have to literally shut her up! She’s extremely smart & comes up with smart ideas, she gives her 100% to whatever she’s entrusted with! She’s wise & has a lot of patience.. even though I’m her mom, I learn a lot from her everyday.. When I’m stressed, she tells me not to think too much about it! She lives in the moment & doesn’t need much to keep herself entertained & needs very little to make herself happy! I’m so proud of her, I feel secure & at peace in her company!

I was often ridiculed for being quiet and content being by myself. I was happy doing my own thing and being quiet. I never did a lot of babyish activities that young people like to do. Once at a slumber party when I was about 10 years old, all the kids went out to ring doorbells and run away and laugh when someone answered. I stayed back and talked to the parents! Sounded goofy then and still does now but I just wasn't into the same things that seemed childish. I liked playing in my room, coloring, reading, etc. and being sent to my room wasn't a punishment.

My whole family are extroverts or ambiverts (a mix of both), so since young they didnt understand me, and my sis would make fun of me sooo much (until now) and my parents would keep telling me to go out more and adventure into new stuff. I actually really agree with the few friends but deep relationship thing, that is really what I am aiming for. Even though some of my friends came and left, as we are all growing up, but I interacted really really well with them, and get so talkative once it gets to talking to those I confide in and trust, and are close to. I never really cared, but there came a point a year ago where it really harmed me immensely career and friendship wise. I didn't have friends, nor connections. I hardly spoke to anyone, family or friends. I have since built a little confidence and tried becoming more vocal, but I still feel it's a fake personality I need to maintain to be a part of society. People say I'm feelingless, I have no emotions, I don't care, I don't live... But honestly, I do. I do it differently. If you cared about me or talked to me, you would know that. :(

    • I used to think so too, in fact, I still somewhat mimic other extrovert behavior too rarely nowadays, as I've been able to know what I want to do or not. Been a mix of like 70% introvert and 30% extrovert, so meeting new people usually isn't too much of a big deal, though VERY dependant on which type of person I'm meeting. Since I grew up on a farm, I always had close realtionships to others, since in the countryside everybody knows everybody, and therefore always was better with country people, truckers, farmers and stuff, also city people who give me the 2000s ,,ah it don't matter" vibe. Today I went on a bridge over a countryside road and waved at a truck, and dude it is always such a nice time, since he started blasting his horn, and knowing that farmers and truckers usually get underpaid and even seen as dumb from city people, I of course loved to see that they still got my back, even after having to move to a city due to finances and regulations destroying our passion. Of course on the other side, as a result of my childhood and stuff, I struggle to make friends with people my age in the city, as It's just a different culture, and don't know if just coming straight is seen as weird, which it usually is. Also, the saying of you attract what you are kind of applies, I managed to get some shy, introverted girls from the city to have crushes on me, but thats good for me, because I'm also into these types. It's a hell to start convos though, usually taking months of looking at each other before anyone takes initiative in the form of asking for a favour.
