Nice video content! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Saankramer Life Card System (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for learning how to stop drinking without the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my best friend Jordan finally got great success with it.
Isn't you tube another form of social media??
Great video!
More shows like this are needed on prime time tv. I think a video about phone addiction would be awesome as people need to learn that the phone is a tool and works for you NOT the other way around.
The so called music is drowning out the voices of the people. Please redo the video as it seems like an interesting topic.
Quitting social media is like coming out of a toxic relationship. You know what I mean.
Yes. Completely worth it.
Yes! Hard to let go of but once you do your mind just frees up so much and you see much better you are without it.
@@JohnsonKayla12 exactly.

Reasons why I quitted fb and whatsapp
I remember when social media was fun and a genuine way to connect with people. Now it’s mostly just toxicity and self-promotion.
Toxicity is a perfect word for it! Full of hatred, politics, and opposition! It’s Gatorade for the bored and angry.
Advertising , criminals wanna be"s ..
Yeah, like for example, you say a word against a Star Wars fan who hated the new contents, they'd just wish you were tarred and feathered. Even so, they refuse to admit that they are having mental issues. Just feel alienated by such a small contingent of disagreeable people, that it'd just keep getting worse as long as you keep arguing. BTW, If you don't like the new stuff, but not resorting to such hateful antics, like calling people "Woke" or "Shill", then I'm not talking about you, just so you know. This is coming from a moderate conservative who does not vote for Trump because of his bad behavior.
Yes. It used to be fun
very true- those two words summarize it!
I’m 22 and I left all social media when I was 18. Happiest decision I’ve ever made in my young adult years
honestly want to so bad - I've quit instagram, I still have reddit. I don't wanna quit discord but I wanna leave all the large servers so it's just for communicating with actual friends.
@@georgeguiney3454 you’ll get there, you just gotta realise you don’t really need them
I'm 18 years old now and up until 2 years ago I had great struggles with my attention span. I used Twitter/Instagram etc. instead of doing something for school and overall my screentime was immense. I knew that I had to change something, so I quit. To this day I only use WhatsApp and Discord for communication purposes, but it is still hard to draw a line for me. Is watching this video "crossing the line" that I've set up myself? I try to distinguish between videos that have some kind of educational content and videos that don't, though I'd like to quit KZhead as well...
Me too. Honestly I feel so fortunate that I didn't get trapped in that sh*t.

Deleting your facebook is the modern punk my friend
I quit social media during the pandemic. It improved my mental health considerably, mostly anxiety and depression. It's liberating when you start on the path to caring less about what other people think about you, and focus on what you think about yourself. That's when true healing begins.
Hey me too! ❤ I don’t even want to imagine the damage being on social media did to peoples mental health during those awful years.
That is great and social media can be a big curse. I hardly use it now and only kept instagram to message my friends but that is it. I use mainly email and what’s app to keep in touch with my friends. But I don’t use anything else. It has gotten out of hand.
I remember saying in class in 2009 that I don't use FB or other social media, and the room gasped collectively. There were people seriously asking me how I communicate with people. I had a friend tell me she wouldn't be able to stay in contact with me if I didn't join social media. It was at that point I realized how addicted everyone was to this silly concept.
I'm not completely off from social media, just not using biggest social platform like Instagram, Twitter, and Tiktok. I remember a friend was asking me how do you live without it. Yeah, they're asking seriously about it, i feel i'm completely normal and still keep in touch with my relatives without needing of those platforms.
I hope in future social media can be given less priority by people .

Or even just going to their door and seeing if they want to hang out. I miss those days.

Social media is the definition of bragging and validation seeking and these two things can be very detrimental.
Social media has become a toxic place where people can’t be their true authentic selves, and it’s just all ads and people arguing over dumb shit.
I quit social media when I realized I was just searching for validation. I’m also not interested in everyone’s facade.
Validation is why most people are still on these apps, I'm glad you've actually realized that cause a lot of people wouldn't.
I think that’s a great first step. I think that you should embark on your own journey and you’ll find that social media can be used for beautiful things - but if the people you follow are vapid - it feels empty. You have to create your own world on it or else it will devour yer shit.
Thats a good point about validation.. I found myself posting pictures just so I could get a "like" from people.. Had to question that recently.. Im 41 years old, not 15..✌

The sad truth is that social media has become so embedded in our society that many people don’t have a choice but to use it eg. as a self employed musician and media producer, it is pretty much a must for me to use multiple social media platforms to advertise, promote and network so I am left with a choice of either a) escaping the toxicity or b) not getting any work.
It depends on what kind of work you have. If you must use it, use it with caution. Many clearly don’t need it for work but just for entertainment purposes so can live better without it.

I quit social media when I realise every time I posted something, I was hoping for likes, comparing the number of likes with my friends. I found myself going to places that I don’t like just to take pictures to put online; I found myself missing out on the actual experience and enjoying the scenery just to get a perfect picture/video. I found myself comparing my life with all the other friends in my life, until I’m left with feeling embarrassed, ashamed, and jealous every time I went on scrolling. When I quit checking my social media, I realised that I was missing out. I shouldn’t live for anyone’s ‘like’ and approval. It will either destroy people’s self esteem or create a fake bubble of confidence, which when it pops it will hurt and cause destruction even more. I’m glad I’ve set myself free in that sense

What you mean by comparing your life with others
@@txee7626 Well, speaking for myself, whenever I scroll down my Instagram or Facebook feed, I get the sense that my life has stagnated when everyone else is having a gala time. My real disillusionment with social media began when I began meeting the people I see on social media a little more often in real life and realized that nearly everything I knew or had assumed about them by looking at their profiles was a lie. Those people had far less knowledge, had done far less in life, and travelled to fewer places than I thought. One of my social media "friends", as it turned out, was posting literally every picture of herself after a ton of editing and didn't even look like I had imagined. So why talk to the digital image of a person when you have to meet them in person and change your mind anyway?
@@vatsalsaxena8813 we all do it sub consciously
Vatsal Saxena for me it is exactly the opposite. I feel so happy when I see happy people, when I see them having fun, traveling, especially those that are from my town. There are some people that were my friends when I was a child and they left the city to study in the capital. I feel so happy to see how much they achieved, I feel so proud of them. What makes me sad is to see violence, crime, sexism, prejudice. Seeing people happy, traveling and achieving things make happy even I haven’t achieved that much.

For the record, KZhead is used in this fashion primarily by the younger generation, and not as frequently as those who might actually have the resources to become a customer. i've been off of twitter and ig for a little over 2 weeks and i wish i did it sooner bc the anxiety i've had for years almost immediately faded away a few days into my detox. a part of the reason why it's been super easy is bc i realized i was playing into the vanity that comes with feeling the need to update people on my life all the time. it's abnormal that we've normalized wanting everyone to keep up with us constantly and feeling the need to do the same. since my time off social media, i feel much more present and like i'm in real life again.
I just found out that it was not only me who left social media... Finally found my bros and sis in this comment section..!!! Happily ever after..😁💪✌✌

White people are not your bro and Sister .. you are racially, mentally and religiously different from them
Sumit this comment literally had nothing to do with race and religion so that whole thing you just said really doesn’t make sense.
@@Sumit-sp1fr Wow. Where did that come from? Poor you...you have some serious issues that you need to deal with. Glad I'm not you. : (

think what we are beginning to see is more and more people realizing that people, real, face to face people, give us sooooooo much more than 5000 Facebook 'friends'. We are designed to be gregarious, we need other people to function and feel purpose.... angry, vicious, self righteous woke idiots on social media platforms are not those people! We are starting to get it, that means you are part of the positive change happening so thank you...and thank yourself too :)
I appreciate your comment.
I am a doctor from india 25 yrs old😊 And living a very satisfied life without social media ❤
I deleted Facebook in 2013 when I was 14 and never looked back. Never got into Instagram and never even downloaded TikTok.
Wow u did right
Instead of social media it should be called "HEY... HEY... LOOK AT ME-Media"
almdrs Well said.....
Very true love this though from INDIA
Lol😂😂😂It is indeed true 😄😄

So true!
deleting facebook, instagram and twitter changed my life. My mental health started to improve and I feel like I am becoming the person I am meant to be because I am more in touch with who I truly am than what I thought I should like and not like because others had it
How do you delete WhatsApp?in my country we don't text we WhatsApp everything pictures videos etc
Yeah, social media can destroy you sense of self.
YES!!!! Exactly. 💜🥰
@@danyalparacha1761 WhatsApp it’s not social media IMO, we use it as a tool to talk to people
Yup and we don’t need social media as it can destroy our lives. I grew up without it so can easily live without it.
Very well said
Went on a cruise for a full week. Didn't get the internet package and destroyed my phone in the pool so had nothing. At first I was like , what the hell do I do or think about? But, it quickly became easy, granted there was a ton of stuff to do and dock days but I noticed how much more clear headed I became by actually allowing thought and happier/more passionate about my surroundings. When I came back I still didn't have a phone for a bit and though I was back to the more mundane, I was still perfectly fine and happy. I realized how much time I actually have. Since then I've gotten another phone, but don't really partake in social media. It's boring and a waste to me now, but I still play my games and watch KZhead. Other than those and work stuff/ looking up questions or interests I don't feel the need to do anything else digitally. This also means I get weird ads lol.
KZhead is great and I'll always stand by that comment. However, I can't stand any of the other social media platforms. Awful and toxic. I agree with everything you said.
I quit using “social media” just as the lockdown in my country was starting. It happened because I was starting to notice that I am constantly comparing my life on others and it getting me deppressed so deleted my facebook app and never looked back. It’s really quite good not looking at the nonsense post and just aimlessly scrolling on my cellphone.
that's the worse part of all Social Media! even if you think you are not comparing yourself to others, you still are! It can bring you down a lot, it's better to stop it completely. I only use Instagram as a photographer but i have to say that sometimes i struggle with this as well.
Exactly. I thought that too and quit all my social media in the lockdown.
Same, although I still have FB, the only thing I check is its messenger so I won't have additional bill on my phone when I'm on wi-fi. I still have Reddit, 9GAG and KZhead and they're both anonymous. :)
Exactly me! Fb now plays a big part for making people compare themselves with others!
Colleen i hope to God he’s your ex-husband now
Great video , social media has kept people distracted from living the life they were created to live
I got off social media Yesterday FOREVER and I’m never looking back.
I used to read a lot of books, novels, encyclopedias, short stories and hard copy magazines, I used to read a lot since I was little. Headed to Uni I stopped and that's around the time I entered social media. It's sad. I think il stop. I miss my books. They used to make me so happy and appreciative of the world.
Well, It's a good time now to pick up a book. 😊
I share the same exact feeling with you. Wow !
Zoe M...I've been a voracious reader all of my life, now not so much. I feel guilty.
After quitting fb I finished Anna Karenina the whole book!😅 and I feel good
That’s so me. I love love books. It’s like an adventure. Something tangible
A while ago my spirit was heavy, I wasn’t living in the moment anymore, I curated moments to look good on social media and it caused me anxiety and depression. I woke up one morning, three years ago and deactivated all my social media accounts. I don’t regret it for one moment and I’m so much happier.
Your story sounds like mine. I quit in 2013 and immediately felt peace. I'm so much more happier now. Social media is toxic.
@@diana_prince_1 how you do that ?
@@dunogew9768 Not sure what you mean? I was heavily active on Facebook and I permanently deleted my account... I was less active on Instagram but also got rid of that as well. I recommend you at least take a break from social media for at least 6 weeks if not more, if you are worried about getting rid of it permanently. You'll see how much better you feel about yourself and life in general, and you won't want to go back.
Facebook gives me anxiety. I deactivated my account with no plans to use it again. I’m thinking of getting rid of Instagram too.
Better question would be "Why do people feel like they NEED social media?". I'm 25 and deleted all social media at 17 and never looked back. Did wonders for my mental health.
Lefting social media was the best decision I have ever made in my life. Life is so peaceful and calm down. Nowadays Social media is all about Hate and Self promotion.
Yup and it is all about getting likes and other stupid stuff like attention seeking. Life is so much more peaceful without it.
An actual in-person friend is greater than a thousand Facebook "friends."
the problem is it's hard to make in-person friends these days. people don't answer calls or drop by like they used to. I've deleted and reuploaded apps again and again over the last 20 years, and i'm coming to the conclusion that it's so enmeshed in our world that its influence is inescapable.
@Adarsh Kumar that is like saying someone has weak willpower because they decided to get internet service. it's ubiquitous at this point. some industries require you to have a social media presence.
I realized i'm not making any memories by being constantly on my phone. On insta i only kept looking at other people's lives but i wasn't living my own. I'd wake up, pick up my phone and start my day like that. Then i'd suddenly look up and it's already night. So i quit. Now my mind is clearer and i'm happier
How do u connect with friends and homies?
@@dang1513 I prefer to see them face to face, but because of quarantine we just call eachother or video chat
That's what I need to do ! Quit social media 4 good !
I think a music producer complained about how whenever they preform live, they get upset over the fact that so many people have their phobes up in the air recording them instead of enjoying the live music. I can honestly say their anger was justified. Imagine working your butt off to make music and peform it live only to be recorded and put online instead.

Well that's good then we're all like-minded on this because I've been going through the same thing and I'm taking a break from it for 30 days and by that time I may just end up totally not going back on it's gotten to a point where it's just absolutely ridiculous. Thank you to all of you that feel the same way and I'm actually a follower of Christ and what I've been noticing about Christian group and Christian Post and things like that that have to do with the Bible and other topics besides the Bible are being Censored so bad that it's not worth the time or effort to be on there anymore. Take your data and sell it and turn right around and make you work to get noticed or liked by what you post and even make you pay to play as Facebook calls it. 1. Friend requests have decreased from 2017 2. Likes have decreased from 2020 3. Post content becomes invisible because of the Algorithims. Depending on what is posted there is a good likelihood your content will be completely invisible so others won't see it this is the sad reality now.
Thank you 🌿
It's funny how I first joined Facebook to play games like Farmville and have a relaxing time, and years later I quit Facebook to make my life relaxing. Been social-media free for almost a year now (except Reddit and KZhead), never been happier and calmer

My husband and I quit social media years ago and never looked back. It was so toxic in many ways and I believe our relationship is stronger without it.
@Nicole Anne Daniels We never started. I just don't see the benefits unless you want to track some long lost friend down, even then, not a big enough draw for either of us.
That's very true.
Wise decision... The fake relationships and #relationship goals on social media can make you easily turn on your man because what you see on social media makes your relationship look boring or not impressive... Yet you only see one side to a coin
Hats off for quitting social media
Happy for you two ❤ ☺
This is why I quit social media about almost 3 years ago. My profiles are still there, but I did not update those anymore. I just love the time that I have now on different things. Just focusing to what is essentials and/or necessary in life.
We need to take control of social media and use it for its proper ends rather than being trapped in addictive behaviours. It's important to be present in the real world and focus on fulfilling pleasures that help us realize parts of ourselves we didn't have.
Phone zombies everywhere, walking, tapping screens, oblivious to anyone nearby. We have learned nothing from this pandemic.
Uh, you do realize the only reason you can get your point across is through the internet
Dominic McNulty There’s a time and place for everything. Making a KZhead comment from the comfort of your home isn’t comparable to a family all on their phones at a restaurant. He also did not make an attack on the internet itself but on how we use it.
@@Chris-hz8lj Well said! Thanks
Seen and heard music producers complain about how people don't even enjoy live music anymore. They just film it and put it up on Facebook or Instagram. Imagine being on stage under a strobe light sweating your nuts off trying to entertain folks just to be filmed and put on Instagram.
@@TheBlackDot00 Reminds me of a guy who needed help fighting off a bunch of thugs in the city center. Instead of anyone helping the poor guy, they just stood back and filmed the thugs all beating on the one outnumbered dude. Kinda common nowadays.
I deleted social media after a break up. To avoid those people who didn't care about my wellbeing trying to find out the gossip. It's been a year and I've never been happier. I now enjoy the things I'm doing instead of taking a picture/updating my status to show everyone 'I'm having fun'. And the best part, I found out who my true friends were as they went beyond to try to get into contact with me when I also changed my number and moved address.
Great to know that ❤

I quit social media about 10-12 years ago, I’m 31 so I went without it while all the other social media platforms were on their prime. But honestly if I don’t have your number saved on my phone idgaf about what you’re doing with your life.
I still remember when facebook came i use to connect with a lot of people around the world ..people were curious at that time and wanted to add new friends and know each other ! But sadly today it has lost its true meaning if you would follow someone mutual on insta or add them as friend on FB today they would not add you back ! If you send message they would left you on seen ..the hunger of socializing is declining ! We just want likes ,views, etc ! No interaction ! Thats why i quit Insta few days back !
I remember it to, facebook designe back then was a bit different, we could tolerate better the bad things. People on there are like on drugs, it's that much emotionally and politically driven.
