    • Dean Bombaderi if you spend your time watching actual news you are wasting your time, ignore all the local and normal news and pull up all the late night comedy news and you will get the just of the news and you will have something to laugh at. Using the TV to see how fucked up the world is defeats the purpose in a way, cause you can see that a anywhere else, the TV can show you literally anything entertain everyone. It's a waste to use a powerful device like that to sit around and see all the drama and shit in the world, you can get weather and important headlines on Google for God's sake, everything else you can go ahead and laugh about.

One asks a question, the other patiently listens to the question and answers with the same depth of thought without anyone being cut off or told what they think. That's also how you let someone divulge something they shouldn't mention or wander into bull shitting, but that didn't happen here. I'm glad I got to watch it.

    • It is such a huge relief to and so refreshing to see an interview like this. Nowadays 99.9% of political talk shows are one person preaching for an hour based on their own opinions and most interviews turn into shouting fests and hyperbole, it is so refreshing to see an interview like this. If only there were more like this. When the news networks started having shows with multiple people talking over each other and bickering, I quit watching most political shows. It was like listening to hens cackling. You can only hear the loudest one and only part of what they are saying at best on those types of shows. I wish there were more interviews like this one instead of what the majority are nowadays.

    • It was a wonderful interview and I agree with everything you said. My concern, Comey is going to be on The View tomorrow and Meghan McCain said, their going to fillet him. Then Whoopie, said, not where not, however, I know Meghan is going to a like a shark attacking a bleeding swimmer. Fire Meghan McCain and replace her with Ana Navara, someone who would have an intelligent conversation similar to what we saw tonight.

    • Humphrey B Obama is certainly another trigger point for him isn’t he. Trump doesn’t care for the American people.. all he wants his to ruin Obama’s legacy. As he said after Michelle’s speech.. ‘he’s only in the job because of her husband’. If I were American that would worry me.. it shows why he went for the job and shows it wasn’t for the greater good but simply revenge. It worries me not being American too though as this fool is at present the most powerful guy on the planet. And there’s another thing.. he gives no fucks for the planet or the climate either. Another four years and we’ll all be fucked, not just America.

    • Banksy Banksy I am an American and the thing that terrifies me most is how many citizens can’t see what is clearly in front of all of us and it has been that way long before he became president. There’s just no excuse. There’s only one option… Just absolute ignorance. One way or another. There is only one simple fact that you need to know about Trump and that he is devoid of empathy, which means he is in capable of integrity or doing anything for anyone other than himself. How anyone could be blind to that… I will never be able to understand. It doesn’t matter how many ultimate tests we have had happening consecutively and concurrently… There are far too many here that support him and that is absolutely terrifying. How could someone be so blind while being stabbed in the back along with the rest of us that actually do have the sense God gave a strawberry?It was bad enough that I knew he was going to be elected president while everyone was angry at me and protecting us and thinking I was a fool. I didn’t know enough there was too much fear in this country and people that bought his snake oil. The possibility of another four years… I don’t know what I’m going to do if that were to happen. I know I can’t stay in this country if that were to happen.

      @gretchenwenzel2906@gretchenwenzel29063 жыл бұрын
    • Banksy Banksy You could not be more correct. Trump is not just adding to the troubles of this country. He is adding to the troubles of this world and I’m doing an endless amount of things that some money had worked so hard at and with so many other countries to progress and move ahead and doing the right thing for everyone. People with the right intentions that didn’t just revolve around their own narcissism and lack of empathy. We are all screwed if he somehow becomes president again. He has set up everything methodically so that no matter what happens with the vote, He has every excuse cupboard and there will be major issues. This is someone that complained even after winning in 2016. We are absolutely screwed no matter what happens during this election. We can only hope and pray for the best and that somehow this man is held accountable, as well. Absolutely mind blowing

He may be a late night comedian, but Stephen continues to be one of the most intelligent and rational thinkers on television. Calling the undisclosed contents of the Lynch document a convenient "can't blame me card" is an angle I hadn't seen pressed on other shows yet. Nor have I seen anyone else bother to go to that infamous hotel room in Russia. And sadly, he's probably the only TV personality who has actually read the book instead of just going on air with talking points culled by others with their own agenda.

The joke about Trumps tweets over the past year was definitely staged! Comey is a narcissistic fraud who can act as a moral concerned person. He has probably practiced this in the mirror for many years! His mental problem is he really believes he is the smartest most moral person in the room. Both parties wanted him fired. His ex peers in the FBI are ashamed of his money making book tour. Now Comey has thrown his 2nd. in command under the bus claiming he never gave him permission to leak on Hillarys e-mails. McCabe swears he did, McCabe has been caught telling 3 lies under oath to the FBI. Watch Comey not come clean and let McCabe do jail time for lying to the FBI.

    • Colbert seemed to let his partisanship intrude during his questions involving Clinton's emails. Comey may have changed my view slightly. I better understand the incredibly tough position he was in right before the election. He also piqued my interests a little bit about Lynch. The classified document involving her is interesting. I say all of this as a strong supporter/voter of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and his Justice Department. It's important to acknowledge one's own biases whenever they apply. I think Stephen went a little too hard on Comey during those questions but I guess sometimes it's important to be uncomfortable in order to get to the truth. There's no evidence Hillary Clinton or Loretta Lynch did anything intentionally illegal but to just sweep everything under the rug without investigation just seems wrong to me. I think Comey had two horrible choices and he went with the less bad one when he reopened the email investigation with a couple weeks left before we went to the polls. This whole interview is why the LSSC is so valuable, though. Stephen is an important treasure.

    • It was a softball interview. It's just that the bar has been set so low by the likes of Fox News and Jimmy Fallon that any kind of straight questioning outside of "tell us all what you think is your best achievement" is considered hardball journalism. Colbert is an actor and comedian. Anderson Cooper is a media personality. Let's see Comey go and be interviewed by someone like Jeremy Paxman of the BBC, the kind of interviewer who's picador and matador all in one package, who will not rest until he's taken you down.

Yes, I'm sure, but we had a man on tape admitting to sexually assaulting women and no one gave a single fuck I knew Trump was going to win at that moment. That we have fallen so far that people were willing to vote for a man who would say and admit something like that on tape laughing all the way and give him the power of the presidency. • James Comey Military Tribunal: Day 1 By Michael Baxter -June 3, 2021

      @daisyfields4986@daisyfields49862 жыл бұрын
    • As Donald J. Trump prepares to be reinstated as President of the United States this July or August, the U.S. military has been amplifying efforts to litigate cases against Deep State traitors whose names appear on a lengthy list of sealed indictments that Trump and acting AG Jeffrey Rosen had written in anticipation of finally draining the swamp. The Deep State’s latest casualty is former FBI Director James Comey, who on Thursday morning sat opposite a military tribunal and listened to Vice Adm. John G. Hannink spell out charges that could send Comey to gallows for atrocities committed against law-abiding American citizens. Vice Adm. Hannink opened the day with a scathing assault on Comey’s character, accusing him of ordering the deaths of countless citizens in the name of following orders issued by his former master, Barack Hussein Obama. Comey, Vice Adm. Hannink told the 3-officer panel, had helped orchestrate Obama’s clandestine aerial war and guillotine execution programs, which targeted persons on Obama’s infamous enemies list. He showed the panel classified internal FBI documents bearing Comey’s signature. One document acknowledged the FBI’s participation in an aerial strike that killed 16 members of a Colorado militia who had gathered to protest Obama’s guillotine program. “Comey told Obama that air and drone strikes were an effective means to silence what was then a very powerful opposition movement. And he told Obama that guillotines would be more effective than bullets to silence persons opposing Obama’s war of terror on Americans. Comey wrote: ‘Studies have demonstrably proven the effectiveness of guillotines in gaining compliance. If a man sees his wife shot, he will become enraged and vengeful; if he sees his wife’s head sliced off, he will cower in fear and become submissive.’ A covert air war on Americans. Guillotine studies…” Vice Adm. Hannink said. He approached the defense table, where Comey sat alone, and stared down the defendant. “What kind of maniac are you?” he asked. Comey asked if he could address the panel. “From the moment of my arrest, I’ve been pressured to implicate Barack Obama in imaginary criminal actions. These documents-some are fabricated, others are hypothetical role-playing scenarios that never actually happened. Barack is a good man; he always has been. Probably the best president this country ever had or will have. These scenarios you’re hearing about-Obama had no part in it. It was Hillary Clinton and Brennan whom the FBI collaborated with. But they never took place,” Comey explained. Vice Adm. Hannink told the panel that Comey, as an intelligence official, had been trained-and had trained others-to lie for a living. Unmoved by Comey’s soliloquy, he said Comey’s unquenchable thirst and insatiable appetite for power led him down a deep, dark tunnel from which there was no escape. “It’s interesting that you’re willing to namedrop people who are now dead or soon will be. We know Obama masterminded all this. Your testimony aside, he will eventually sit where you’re sitting now. And we know these documents don’t represent make believe events,” Vice Adm. Hannink said. His trenchant commentary on Comey’s role seemed to strike a chord with the panel, as all three members nodded uniformly when he labeled Comey an odious human being, an abomination to humanity. “Let’s see how fictitious this really is,” he said. After a short recess, Vice Adm. Hannink introduced a witness for the prosecution who attended the tribunal via a ZOOM video call. He introduced himself as Derrick White, a 22-year-old black male who claimed that in 2015 he had seen his father’s execution at the hands of “men wearing FBI and FEMA jackets.” He recounted events that transpired during the historic flooding outbreak of Texas and other southern states in May 2015. “I was just 16. Me and my mother, we lived in a ratty house southeast of Houston. My father lived on the streets, because she called him a bum. I had a small job and sometimes I’d go where I knew my father would hang out to give him a few dollars when I could. The night of the storms I was worried about him. He didn’t like to stay in shelters cause people got beat up or worse there. He said the streets were safer. I had to sneak out after mother went to bed, and I found my father and some other homeless guys he trusted and hung with near a closed-up storefront, standing beneath an awning. I gave him 10 dollars and was about to head home when four guys wearing FBI and FEMA jackets told them-my daddy and his friends-they’d bring them to shelter and food. They didn’t want to go, but those guys forced them too-said the streets were unsafe cause of the weather and they didn’t want to be responsible if they drowned or got caught in a twister. One of them said ‘what about the kid,’ and another guy, I guess he was the one in charge, said ‘take him too.’ They put us in this minibus and drove and drove and drove. And I was scared shitless,” Mr. White explained, clearly emotional. He continued: “My father told me not to worry. Well, they drove us all the way to Texas City docks where there’s this boat-a barge like ship-and they brought us on it. It was strange because there was only one light on in the whole thing. One of the men tells me I’m going to watch because I’m going to be last. He pulls out a gun, shoots one of my father’s friends in the head, and shoves him overboard. We’re all held at gunpoint, trembling, dazed, you know. They bring us below decks in a cargo room or something. But there’s no cargo. Just a guillotine. One guy tells me I’m going to watch my father die. Short of it is, one by one their heads, including my father’s, went in that fucking machine. I screamed and cried and begged and pleaded to God not to die. One of them, the guy in charge, I guess, must have felt some kind of guilt, because he told the others to let me go. They said no one would believe me anyway. And they were right. My mother didn’t believe me. Media didn’t believe me. No one believed me. And I buried away this story for a very long time.” James Comey erupted in laughter. “A fanciful, fabricated tale. This is what you call credible? Even if were true, what does it have to do with me or Barack?” “It has everything to do with you. We know that you and Obama’s FEMA director, Craig Fugate, authorized the described events with Obama’s encouragement. We will recess until tomorrow, but I tell you now that we have former subordinates of yours who will give testimony tomorrow.” Bluffing, Comey told Vice Adm. Hannink, was the last act of the desperate. “We’ll see tomorrow,” Vice Adm. Hannink replied, and he said the tribunal would resume at 10:00 a.m. Friday.

    • Stephen is his own man and i won't say that he is following in anyones footsteps, but that is the exact reason that made Jon Stewart such an important, though often forgotten by the majority, figure in the news. As documentaries and shorts about Jon Stewart have said, he was the fact checker for the news. After seeing the twisted, but not always necessarily broken, truths that come out by the major news organizations, it takes people with a more cynical view to pull out the truth. Comedians have to know how to make the audience connect with them, and when you are trying to not only make them laugh, but inform them, you often ask the harder questions, with maybe a comedic undertone, that other news-casters are too afraid to touch. This is why you don't see guests walk out of 60 minutes, they know what the questions will be before they are even asked, but put them in front of a comedian? Theres no telling what might be asked or grilled out of them.

    • @@LukeMcGuireoides So firstly, the idea that Comey gave us Trump is patently ridiculous. Secondly, waited? For what? Someone to leak that the investigation had been reopened? That's jet fuel for conspiracy theories. The entire point of Comey's actions were that he needed to retain public faith in the organization; not telling the public that the investigation had been reopened would have hamstrung the whole FBI. It would have been another reason for Fox News etc. to discredit the whole organization. Hillary could have solved the problem by not being technologically incompetent in the 21st century or by hiring someone who knew their shit. Maybe when you find yourself defending dynastic politicians with records of racism (i.e. the phrase 'superpredator), you should consider that you're not on the right side. And before we even have to fucking get here, no, I did not and would never vote for Trump or any Republican. I barely even want to vote for Democrats.

And I want it to be directed by Scorsese. He needs to recreate what happened in the Ritz Carlton in the way only he can. Think Wolf of Wall Street but with a less likeable lead.
