I find it odd how when DMC5 first released, people didn’t really care that much (except long time DMC fans), but when Vergil became playable, the entire internet collectively went crazy for DMC5

Yeah a few people who were fans of DMC didn’t even wanna play the game unless Vergil was playable. I can understand not wanting to double dip on Special Edition, but you bet your ass I got the original release on day 1. The franchise had been completely dead for a decade, and literally no other announcement got me as excited as DMC5’s. It was a goddamn miracle.

For those wondering why the enemies aren't melting immediately, I'm playing the game with 0.2 player damage output. Meaning my attacks do less damage, but I have it this way because without it, fights can end before the Bury the Light chorus begins. I also wanted to enjoy Vergil's beautiful attack animations syncing to the music. For the next upload, I can show what it looks like with normal player damage!

Super flashy, but I don't think those demons would survive more than one hit from Vergil. He's basically juggling their corpses just for the hell of it.
Getting the Beowulf treatment
That's why I'm not to hot on DMC actually. Juggling corpses for the hell of it is an actual strat and is the main way to keep combo up. When I played through I mopped the floor with enemies and rarely broke A combo. But then I kept juggling a corpse instead of moving to the next foe and easily hit SSS and didn't drop below SS.
@@samreddig8819 Did you play a DMD or higher difficulty? The difficulty of this is doing this on a difficulty where a hit really hurts and where there's tons of spawns that are redesigned to be more difficult to handle, like demons that take two different strategies to take down. I somehow doubt you can do what this guy did, it takes 1000's of hours of dedication.

Vergil is going to go off if he ever sees Mundus again
To be fair it's a fair payment if they meet again, Mundus lead to this, if he didn't break him into Nelo Angelo, muchless kill their mother, Vergil would NEVER have obtained as much power, let alone killed all those humans as Urizen for the qliphoth (don't remember its spelling) fruit which took his immense power to a whole other level, muchless it would have made it so Nero was probably never going to be born, which pushes Vergil even more than what we've seen.

I love the dynamic of Virgil and Dante. How they both have some level of humanity and basically the same feelings, but Virgil sacrificed his ability to express them for power, while Dante embraced them and got the same kind of power, even if not always the same level. To date, this is the best "Opposing Twins" dynamic I've ever seen. They both have pieces of each other in themselves. Virgil does have fun, though he keeps himself under lock and key while Dante is able to focus and be serious when the time is right, but he doesn't like being like that. And then there's Nero who is, at least in DMC5 a nicely blended version of the two of them.

@@EdgyPuer Doubt he could, he had just got his ass whooped by Dante. It's an unknown if Mundus could have defeated and controlled a healthy Vergil. A good example is how Jester is a joke to the brothers, but after they fight in M14, Arkham in his Jester DT EASILY takes them down. That's a catastrophic power loss. Vergil was probably running on near nothing after M20 fight.
Don't forget with sparda's power he nearly took Dante out Vergil showed up in time before he got skewed lack the ability to control and became mutated and they still had to work together just to defeat him and if you're referring to would a healthy Vergil would possibly win it's a NO. Here's why DMC1 is part 2 of the series despite Dante becoming stronger since then he nearly died 3 times the 1st is when a corrupted Vergil jumped behind him knocking alistor out of his hands grabbed him by the neck and syphoned energy into his hand to finish the job but by a miracle he saw the amulet causing himself to resurface a little trying to break off the control the memories became too much to handle and was forced to retreat 2nd time Dante had more strength and was able figure out the patterns making him victorious 3rd Virgil went full power with the helmet removed and the use of summoned swords Dante didn't want to believe that was his brother as Vergil isn't the type to follow someone's command and always have his own motivation and reasons to fight but with the amulet dropped by the fallen warrior his worst fears came to light. Now the 2nd time he nearly died mundus nearly skewered him this time Trish jumped in to take the fatal attack though she did survive the 3rd time he was out of energy and mundus was about kill him this Trish saved him again by transferring her power to Dante sealing mundus back. My point is it took all of that just for mundus to be defeated if he came back now he's probably unleashing some major for the brothers to fight side by side.

There is just something so pleasantly and violently unnecessary about Virgil's entire entity in his story and lore. I love his ridiculous power and honestly, being a child abandoned from his own family it's been a blessing to experience DMC5 in his shoes over and over again. I think I broke the O button on my ps2 playing DMC3 as virgil. So DMC5 has carried that weight for me. Love this dude.
I feel the same way, man! Vergil's playstyle and his entire demeanor is relatable to anyone who ever felt like they needed motivation. It resonates on a deep level. It especially feels amazing to play as him in 5 after knowing the whole lore and seeing his development from the DMC3 days. Those were some sweet times, playing it on the PS2. Now DMC5 feels like a total love letter that comes full circle as we patiently await for 6. Even if 6 doesn't come out (Which I somehow doubt), Capcom really knocked it out of the park with 5!

DMC5 co-op gameplay (Ony possible through PC mods for now) is actually incredible! I would love to post new content of it soon. I think going forward, if Capcom doesn't have plans to officially implement local/online co-op for DMC5SE or Vanilla, they should definitely bring it for DMC6. DMC5 co-op with friends is just too much fun
