    • Agreed, Having people discuss your health, especially those who don't know you, is violating to some people. As someone who works in healthcare, it's violating to me personally. It's no one's business what his injury is and anyone discussing it beyond, "he's injured and out for now" is a waste of airtime. I'm surprised this appears so difficulty to comprehend.

    @HouseHippoWrangler@HouseHippoWranglerАй бұрын
    • Exactly. Hockey is a contact sport but it has far more capacity for specific, targeted contact on individuals. Teams develop playbooks on their opponents down to each player. If there’s a known recurring injury, that gets targeted in the playoffs.

  • I agree with Steve's theory that a vague "upper body" or "lower body" injury was reported because they didn't want a psycho to target that nagging injury and take them out.

    @chumplet8947@chumplet8947Ай бұрын
  • Jesse, you’re missing Steve’s point about disclosing injuries. If you disclose what injury a player is dealing with and then they return to the next game, even if you remove the injury label from them, that information is now out there and a dirty player can target that injury. Removing the injury tag does not erase the existence of an injury. Example: Report comes out Rielly has been dealing with a bruised rib. He misses two games and comes back against a team like Florida. What’s stopping Nick Cousins from taking a two minute cross checking penalty (at the most) by two handing Rielly in the side and targeting that injury? In a contact and prison rules sport like hockey you have to keep that sort of info close to your chest. Can’t be telling everyone else every injury your players are going through.

Torts is more aware than anyone that this team has lots of work to do and I highly doubt he was annoyed that Briere sold some pieces at the deadline so I’m not sure where that take was coming from. • Adam is crazy to say any series with Avs would be lowest rated, Nathan MacKinnon alone will boost any series. Plus they won a cup in 2022. That's a terrible take.

  • Okay when it comes to the Islanders, I understand they have this perception as a “boring” hockey team from when Trotz coached but guys I promise you it’s not how they play anymore. The neutral zone trap was lessened when Lambert took over and it’s been completely overhauled since Roy took over. Since day 1 Roy has preached transition and speed. The Isles do not sit back in the zone on purpose anymore. Believe me I know you guys can’t watch every game and specifically the Isles it doesn’t make sense but yeah the boring thing is years old now and it gets annoying to keep hearing it. At least the style of game is not what it was during those conference finals runs

  • I hate the whining about scheduling. If they play that Saturday it’s not enough time, but if they play on Sunday it’s “how dare the leafs aren’t on a Saturday night!” Can’t have it both ways.

  • They need to do away with the divisions or at least change the eastern divisions. In no way should both Florida teams be in the same division as toronto Montreal and buffalo when there's another division that separates the teams

  • The nl growlers didn't lack support, they couldn't get full use of the the arena, there's been alot of issue with the city because it owns the arena and wouldn't give deacon sports and entertainment full use of arena to generate more revenue for team, they were forced into a small arena ouside the main capital for a while because of the city,I tagged Steve in an article on Twitter from vocm the talks about it, i am from rural nl, st johns and surrounding area accounts for about 50% of nfld's population at about 250,000 give or take
