Dimash was in singing competitions his whole life. This was the biggest, most important one of all. It changed his life. It changed my life. This show was a gift to us. Those other competitors took Dimash to heart, Who could not love him, He leaves everything on the stage, but when he leaves it, he is the humble, respectful, loving man that he is. He became friends with his competitors, , sometimes appearing on their own concerts. They called him ‘imported little brother’. Even bought him knee pads lol. There is lots of footage on you tube of Dimash interacting with his competitors.

The people who criticize his English would not have a clue to his pronunciation in Mandarin, Italian, French or any other language.
This version for me is not just a cover, I think Dimash left his soul in his interpretation. He really he lives it through every note. How lucky we are to be able to testify to such a great talent! I don't think the world gets to know many of these. It is a gift from Heaven, as the meaning of his name indicates.
When I see him drop to those knees as great as it is I do worry what his knees are going to be like one day. One thing you can always say about him is he walks out and he gives his fans everything he has. When I saw him in New York, he went for a little over 3 hours and did so with so much energy. Later on, we saw clips of Dimash back stage after the concert and he was clearly exhausted. His family often travels with him to all of his events and we get to see his interaction with them and it is a beautiful thing. We have seen his father crying after a concert. I am sure it is a little , well a lot of stress to pull off something like that but to do so in different countries in front of fans from all over the world and see how very much people not only appreciate his music but honestly love him as a person has to be something that swells the hearts of his parents and grandparents.

He had won competition in his own country but it's the first time he took part in China. He did not win but came second only because he was an outsider which was the rule of the contest. He was also the youngest but was the audience favorite.

Dimash was the youngest contestant in this competition of other music professionals, however , when I look at the faces of some of the other contestants, many of those look young, too. I have heart, though, that he was the youngest and a wildcard foreigner, so he went first for a quick elimination. SOS was his first performance on the show, and he became a star!

It looks like you might be taking the episodes in order, at the Singer show in China. That was what catapulted hm into world wide stardom. It's great to see these appearances when we first started seeing him on the tubes. There are some earlier things, too, when he was even younger. Taking things chronological order is , I think, a great way to get to know him. and see him mature!!

This was episode 3. He performed "S.O.S." and "Opera 2" before this. Probably most of the audience already knew this song.
This wasn't his first competition, but it was his first in China and was the one that made him famous. His first competition was at the age of five I believe, and he played piano. There is a video on Gloria Wu's channel with Dimash's backstory for the first episode of The Singer competition in China. In it he said he had been in many competitions and had never been ranked second (we assume he means he always won first place, but he does not specifically say that!). He goes on to say that it is more important that the audience likes his performance and where he ranks is irrelevant.
