Notice the numerous granola bars and Foods consumed immediately and consecutive. Now that there's a cooldown Time on healing items this Speed Run cannot be replicated but it is amazing and I go back and watch certain parts of it over and over the assistant manager find is unbelievably awesome

Yeah I haven't updated to 1.3 so I could still use door glitches on a different run, and after spending so much time locking this route in, some things being changed like the termite axe now requiring 4 feather pieces also made me not wanna update my game yet. If you have the game on Steam then apparently you can go back to previous versions with a bit of effort so the run could be replicated, I've never tried that so not sure if it's actually possible. Glad you liked it though!

Nothing less than absolutely amazing. I was so curious as to how a speedrun would look for this game. Ur gameplay had me truly in awe. It was so clean and amazing it really could be confused for a TAS just because ur that good. I cant say enough of how impressive absolutely everything was. From the parrys to the weapon throwing, all the way down to menu navigation. All of it was immaculate. Great job, all of that practice completely paid off man. Loved every minute of this.

Made a few mistakes that shouldn't have happened like 7:26 at hedge lab and 25:22 jumping up to upper yard, but there's always gonna be imperfections in a run this long. I am still working on a TAS for this actually and I'm trying to make it as insane as possible as a good send-off for the door glitches that got patched, so that should be one of my next videos

The fact that this is a world record and there was so many jumps/gaps/attacks that weren’t landed first try means there could be an even faster time in the future. Massive props to this run
Not exactly, there have been updates and changes to so many things that this can't really be replicated or improved. An entire new route is now needed. Example is termite axe now costing crow feathers and healing items now have a cool down etc..
100%! And I could still downpatch my game and come back to this in future if 1.3 really has screwed up the route that much. Still haven't updated to 1.3 but I'll go over the any% route when I do to see everything that's been made better and worse, aside from the obvious termite axe recipe as blazed pointed out

Never imagined this could be speedrun. Having enough trouble playing it normally 😅 even crazier is that I saw spots where time could be improved and knock another minute off. I dont know how you speedrunners do it, but I love to watch it.

@HolyCodzta you had 2 or 3 spots where things got in your way or you missed jumps the first time. The seconds add up. Hella impressive either way. I'd love to see you go god mode and hit everything smoothly with zero hiccups. I personally don't have the patience required to do these types of runs myself lol.

I also wanted to get a run like that and may go back to it because I think a 52:XX is possible. The second ox trolling me by circling round to the BBQ lid cost me about a minute on its own! And I hit the jump from the grass to upper yard like 10 runs in a row and then missed it on a decent run... I am working on a TAS using door glitches to show just how fast it could be beaten so that will have less mistakes for sure

Cheers Munchenon! rng in this game does kinda suck, this run was from a set save though. Basically when starting fresh worlds trying to beat HarryButcher's time I would make a save before I moved at all and if the run had good rng I'd keep the save for later for set save runs. This one had 4 acorns in one spot, the meal in pond lab, 2 gum in black ant lab chest and enough ox parts for hammer from the 2 ox. Just needed an aphid at the start to have 2 meat and one of the termite soldiers to have 2 chompers and it'd be basically perfect!

@@MrMeerYT The rng is only set though because I ran this from a set save, not a fresh save. All chest loot is generated when the world is created and bug loot is determined when a bug spawns, so it'll be different every time you start a fresh world (within reason, there's only so many possible combinations).

Wow thats insane! Played grounded since the beta and its definitely my favorite game. What do you think about the new update where they added all the other trinkets? Like the dumb new one time uses for the dandelion
Thanks! Me too, well it's one of my recent favourites for sure. I still haven't played it, I'm staying on 1.2 until I get a glitched any% run done (door glitches patched in 1.3). Playgrounds looks great though and I'm keen to play some good player made maps. Dandelion change has pros and cons for sure, for speedrunning and regular play. At least we're guaranteed some now on a speedrun but it might not drop enough for longer runs so we'll have to optimise dandelion use and make sure not to waste any. I think I'd like the change more for regular play because you can either have a stack of regular ones in your inventory and use another trinket at the same time, or just use the fluffy dandelion for infinite use, so the fluffy got buffed and we have more options with it.

Dont know if this is known about but i just booted up this game for the first time yesterday and i found a glitch where you can launch yourself super far and fast if you stand on a ledge and drop a grass and then walk off the ledge at the same time it will launch you and the grass far af
Very nice, thanks! I've been flicked about by grass/stems when walking over a few of them on the ground, never tried a setup like that though for a proper launch. How far is far af? If you check my Broodmother TAS you can see the door launch (patched in the latest major update) and I used that to send me across the map multiple times

Hey holycodzta can you do an updated widow speedrun because she got buffed a little so you might need more preparation for it since you can’t perfectly parry all attacks because they are just too fast

Thanks! After I had fully learned the run from 75 hours spent in 200 practice runs (and then found a good world to use so I didn't have to reset most runs) it took me about 20 attempts over a few days to get this run

It's kinda hard to tell without actually just running it but the combat and weapon animation changes sound good like default crit chance and the 100/100/125 combo damage for better dps, and they decreased stagger cooldown on most creatures so some fights will be a little easier which will save a few seconds on a run. Free molar in the hedge for more stamina is always nice. The worst change though might be the termite axe now needing four feather pieces instead of two because only two are guaranteed from the chest in the black ant lab bedroom, so now we'd need to go to one or two of the other chests in that lab for feathers which adds a minute easy

For laughs I tried a whoa run with the same route the other day and it falls apart so fast haha. Only EQUIPPED items stay when you die and your gear breaks so fast that I had basically nothing by the time I respawned to do pond lab. The route would need changing so much I have no idea right now would be optimal but think sub hour whoa mode would be almost impossible, NG+ will be very interesting though!

Thank you! Well this one was from a set save which is so much faster than a fresh save run. The fresh save run I got before this took about 100 hours of actual run time, then because I had the route down from doing that so much it only took me about 5 hours over the next few days to get this run

Maybe try and filter out the noobs that watch you (like me, despite my ability to win every fight) tho. I know the normal 100% speedrun is RIDICULOUSLY long, so maybe 4 guys could be a fun way to try and get that nice S rank.
course, it does very extremely heavily rely on luck for gold cards, maybe just make it a 99% run lol, gold cards just feel like forced length to me.

This was done on version 1.2 before they changed the ~1 second consumable cooldown to 4 seconds, and granolas instantly heal 40 hp so you could just spam granolas for rapid heals. I assign them to hotkey 7 and then bind my R key to hotkey 7 so I can use them quickly and don't have to reach
People do realize that most any% speedruns of modern games are done on older patches … right?
I mostly run whatever the current patch is tbf but it sometimes takes me so long to get a run done that a new patch is out by the time I have something I'm happy uploading! So for this run, because I'd run it so much on 1.2 and was close to a good time, I just didn't update 1.3 to avoid having to adjust to all the new changes (termite axe recipe needing 4 feathers adds 90 seconds easy)

That's still pretty good! Did you figure out the route for that all by yourself as well? I have a few super chips runs up on the channel actually. Managed sub 20 glitched before 1.0 dropped and then 24:20 glitchless after 1.0

I don’t do that for speedrunning, I do it so I have all the useful things to buy in the shop available to me ASAP, so I just started to naturally learn how to do it faster and faster so I could get to having tier 3 stuff faster. (I know you can get it before any lab but it’s way easier to do with the loot from those places, and the science shop items. )

Yes it is! Also on mild. Haha hey my feet were cold, need them slippers man. The Duper was added in 1.2, the Super Duper update, you can spend raw science to dupe any item. Great for the trinkets that there's only of on the map and duping upgraded weapons and armour also dupes the upgrade levels. Guessing you haven't played since before Duper was added, I'd wait a couple weeks cause 1.4 is out on the 16th!

I get where you're coming from cause that's not exactly intended gameplay but all stopping using it would achieve is to add 10+ minutes of running and nothing interesting. Just the run from Assistant Manager back to Burg.L is probably like 4 minutes or more. A completely deathless speedrun could be cool but recover backpacks obviously couldn't be used anyway so kinda redundant there

This strategy is basically impossible. There's things that has changed slightly.. the biggest one is the assistant manager fight... there is no chance your going there and doing what you've done now.
That's strange because Trizze and Zylo were using this route just today! The only major negative difference to this route in 1.3 is the termite axe now requires 4 feather pieces so you have to go for more chests in the black anthill lab which costs over a minute. Why are you constantly jumping? Does it make you run faster or anything?
Yeah it's: sprint - jump - stop sprinting - sprint just before hitting the ground - repeat. Basically you keep your momentum when you jump but don't spend stamina while in the air so you get more sprint distance per amount of stamina, so less time walking waiting for stamina to regen = faster

It’s a very impressive gameplay, but it’s not a true speed run (or a world record) because I noticed that you kept pausing the actual world record clock. (11:16, 23:48) You can pause the GAME all you like but you can’t pause the timer on the world record time in the bottom right hand corner. Just saying.
