thanks for watching the first episode of the twilight princess challenge run! i hope you liked it!
okok so the challenge run is a little confusing to explain so basically after every dungeon we complete i will add one challenge that you guys choose to the playthrough so hopefully by the end of the playthrough we will have like 10ish challenges all added on. the day after the video goes up ill pick 5 challenges from the comments and well vote on the community tab to see what one gets added!
hope that helps a little better! its gonna be a lot of fun im sure
thanks for being here :) hope you have a good day!!

twilight princess challenge run
First off: really appreciate that you said twilight princess is your favourite, this game is a timeless masterpiece. 2. Challenge Idea: you have to defaet every enemy you see, no running past them or skipping fight's.
I like this this one good
@@QuinBoBin you honor us
Here's an idea for you: Whenever you have to fight a boss, you can only dodge their attacks a certain number of times, if you run out of dodges, you have to take the hit. If you die, it refreshes. The number has to be decided randomly using a random number generator each episode Also great video, Twilight Princess is a masterpiece in my eyes Edit: Frick I didn't mean to add a reply TvT
I really like this one
@@ThisIsMonstertim i think this is a really good idea too
i think quin might be the only person to have ever died in the fireplace in zelda's room
I aim to impress
Yes in Hero mode, it's all flipped! Which is funny because that's what I'm used to. They mirrored the entire game for the Wii version (original being on GameCube) because most people are right-handed and Link isn't. But for the Wii Remote controls, they had to flip it. When I played the Wii U version for the first time, I was so disorientated haha! So join the club Quin.
I noticed the game was flipped from what I was used to in his first play through, but never knew why. That’s cool!
same
Challenge: Don’t use the sword outside boss fights. Bow, boomerang and such are allowed.
Bomb arrows
similar to what i did in botw: shields and one bow only, no melee weapons
I’m nervous about the challenges you guys are gonna choose
Your content makes me smile so much Quinn
Twilight princess, but you can't use the tools, unless absolutely necessary
You have to parry every enemy at least once
Three heart run would be fun.
You were the first person I have subscribed to
Fishing. After every single dungeon you must do a mandatory 10 minutes of fishing. There’s no hidden penalty, no secret extra hard challenge. Just fishing.
Mental recovery for binkus. Give that boy a break!
He must go to the fishing hole
i never knew i needed this
Challenge 1: You must find Ooccoo in every dungeon she's in. Challenge 2: Your only allowed healing item is Bee Larvae.
as a proud midna simp, i propose a challenge of having to use doggo link in every dungeon whether he can be used or not, we always need more midna in our lives
Every time you take damage Binkus must do a funny, little, dance
+ can't willingly do damage until the dance has been finished
He about to become the god of just dance
Mini Permanent Challenge: Turn OFF the minimap. You cant use any maps.
I like this. makes it harder without being absurd.
Challenge: Can't use your map while making your way through a dungeon!
It's so perfect because it's backwards so he doesn't know where he's going (I play on the Wii so his backwards is my normal)
This one is gonna be so difficult
I like this one
@@GamingChair420 i, too, play on the wii
Challenge: You can’t call Midna a goblin or you have to reload the save
CHALLENGE THING: Avoid collecting rupees at ALL COSTS If you collect a rupee you must reload the last save You may only collect rupees if you absolutely need to buy something in order to progress
Actually impossible
Idea 1: No sword or shield (except when required). Idea 2: Babysit a Cucco. (Not sure how the game handles transitions between areas, so it may not be possible, but it would be hilarious to watch Binkus carry a chicken with him everywhere.) Idea 3: Fish suit only from the Lakebed Temple on. (The Zora Armor has less defense against ice/fire compared to the Hero's Clothes.) Idea 4A: A genocide-style run. You must kill every enemy you encounter, no running away or passing by if they're not agro'd. If you see them, they have to die. Idea 4B: Alternatively, a pacifist-style run. Except for enemies you must kill to advance, all the others get left alive to chase you down and cause problems. Idea 5: No using the lock-on ability. You have to aim for yourself. Idea 6: Close combat only. No projectile weapons (except when required). Idea 7: Since you're in Hero Mode, let's make that more painful and ban bottled healing items! Idea 8: Keep the lantern burning. If it goes out, start over from the beginning of the area/dungeon. (Beyond the time crunch this would add, it would also take up an item slot and probably all your bottles for the oil. Edit: Oh, it's also a rupee-drain! Shouldn't forget that.) I really like 8, personally. Link would literally be bringing light to Hyrule during Zant's twilight invasion. Also, "Link... You are the light. Our light... That must shine upon Hyrule once again. Now go."
This channel is a hidden gem, I'm incredibly glad i discovered it. Great vid!
Tell all your buds!
Challenge: everytime you kill an enemy you have to say "I love koroks SO MUCH"
That's just evil
Half the video is just me saying how much I love koroks
you do have a point
One cool way to make Twilight Princess harder is to use the Ganondorf amiibo + hero mode. That makes you take 4x damage, there is no heart drops and the world becomes mirrored
Ohhhh I completely forgor about that..... That sounds like hell.
@@LifeIsAHighwayIAmACarCrash I forgor
For your first challenge I'd say just straight up a 3-heart run
5:42 "heart peices are gonna be so good until you guys make it to where I can't use them anymore" "Hey bingus, it's time"
i'm so glad tp was your favorite. as someone who also fell in love with botw and THEN the rest of the series twilight princess by far was the traditional zelda game i enjoyed the most. also amazing justice for binkus!
This game means so much to me , I grew up on this game , it means so much to me as it was the last Zelda game I played with my mom before she passed away. This game holds all of the good memories I have of her.
I’m so glad this is your favorite, you don’t understand how this game rests in my heart and will for the rest of my life
Me too, it was my first game, though it wasn’t the first I completed it’s my favourite
Same here, it has a very special place in my heart. I’m glad to hear it’s just as special to many others too!
Challenge idea: Don't use z-targeting on enemies.
That’s hell on earth
Good luck hitting Ganon with the finisher to beat the game
Insane… I love it
Just don’t press Z at all
Here's a challenge idea: If the Dungeon Item deals damage (Like Ball & Chain, Bow, Spinner, etc.) you use it as your main weapon for that entire Dungeon. If ammo weapons are to much a hassle, you can use your sword if you run out of ammo until you find more. But still try to use the Item as much as possible for the rest of that Dungeon.
Challenge: no walking in combat. When an enemy is attacking you, you can roll or jump, but walking is completely banned.
This is one that I’m gonna add a little bit later on I think once I get a few other challenges in
They need the hidden skills attacks in the next Zelda game again cause I miss them 😭
It’d be interesting if there was something like then in BOTW2. Imagine if you could find a sword master somewhere who would tell you a way to parry easier or do something like a back strike/helm splitter
@@dqixsoss7436 and have the twilight princess link teach you the moves instead of the robots.
you should use the ganondorf amiibo, it gives you double damage on top of hero mode would be quadruple damage
Yup and on top of the double damage in hero mode it's perfect
exactly
Just to be clear what amiibo is it? Is it ganon from a specific game, or just any?
its the ganon from twilight princess, i dont think there is any other ganon amiibo (i could he wrong on that)
@@QuinBoBin ganondorf its labeled as the smash bros series amiibo if i remember right
Hii! I really really REALLY recommend Link Between Worlds. It’s not extremely tough, but it’s very open ended. You can do the dungeons in any order, and the story is EXTREMELY good. I would love to watch you play it ❤️❤️❤️
Agreed. My favourite 2D Zelda
Yes, but Link to the Past first since albw is kind of its sequel, and also alttp is iconic, and a bit harder than some others
@@educky9099 it’s fine. You don’t need to know ALLP to play ALBW. All connections to the games are tied in references with ALLP’s link appearing as a boss that’s it. :)
My favorite game in the series
An absolutely beautiful game. 1000% agree
Hero mode does actually flip the world. It's similar to the Wii version in which the world was flipped from the GameCube one to make it easier for right handed players. Also, my challenge idea: no hidden skills (except for the required one)
Wait what??? Suddenly everything makes sense... I'm left handed and always had problems playing this game because at the time my right hand was so uncoordinated. Those bastards 🤣
I get why they did it for the Wii, which is the version I grew up with, but was there any explanation for why they did it for Hero mode? I mean it doesn't really make things harder, and if you're right-handed it may actually be easier than Normal mode if you use a Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Always felt like a weird decision to me
@@b_sway I think it's just so there's an option for Wii players so they don't get confused like quin did.
@@LinkyLove123 Ya that was kinda my thought process, especially since people who already played it before on the Wii would probably have an easier time with Hero Mode anyways
Ok I though I was just confused and didn’t remember or something
Challenge idea: No using your sword unless it's mandatory (like for the final boss)
I like it
The cut at 6:12. I’m sorry, Quin, I did laugh. 😂🤣🤣
Challenge: You can’t say the word “The” and every time you do you have to go back to the last save point
Then how is he gonna say "That's THE best small man" or something like that
Damn that might actually be pretty rough
That would make it way to hard and no one would like watching it no offense though
What if he saves before he says anything lol
Savage 😂😂 But it might be harder if he can’t say the word “goblin”
My challenge: the game will be displayed upside down, and you can't reverse your control, you will have to adapt
But he can just move to Australia and it would be easy game
Seeing beanpole Quin inserted into the Twilight Princess opening brought me so much joy. 😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And the flipped world because nostalgiaaaa. I played this on the Wii and had no idea it had flipped the original version to match the Wii remotes (right handed sword fighting) until your first play through (it was trippy to see everything reversed!). By the by, those remotes made the motion control for TP and Skyward Sword so easy. It was painful that you had to struggle with motion control because no Wii remotes. 😭
Dude this is actual perfect timing I just finished watching your original play through and twilight princess is my favorite Zelda game and it’s cool seeing you return to it. Long live the little imp midna
Who doesn't love the little goblin
@@GamingChair420 right that was the word I was looking for thanks man
Challenge: No more healing ever. No potions, no fairies, nothing. The only exception being heart piece collecting.
Imagine the second challenge is no heart peice or heart containers
Challenge: Can’t Get Hit! Or else you must reload a save!
It seems actually do able just because of the reload a save but I know it practice it would be a living hell
Oh god
7:57 I mean, Quin, it's always fun to see you die in the weirdest ways possible, but I really didn't think you'd go this far.
I straight up didn't know you could die from the fireplace in Zelda's room He gonna discover ways of dying no even thought were possible
Twilight Princess is definitely one of my favorite games of all time:) Im happy to see you back
Quin: says that the games are easy. Also Quin: dies 30x in every Zelda games.
Challenge: You can't take damage in dungeons (Bosses excluded), everytime you do take damage you have to go back to your last save.
i just beat this game again yesterday, neat coincidence (also, on a related matter, i named him "Binkster") challenge: no master sword, and no hylian shield (instead, use ordon sword and ordon/wooden shield) (except for final boss, when its necessary) also, alternatively, no extra heart containers, and only 3 hearts
Challenges: 1.) Do a dungeon blindfolded. 2.) Do a dungeon with the controller upside down. 3.) Do a dungeon as fast as you can, speedrun pace.
I love that you're playing Twilight Princess again. That series was the one to introduce me to you (The BEST youtuber of course) Challenge Idea: You have to begin every sentence with a fancy sentence starter like "On the contrary", "Likewise", "Subsequently", ect. If you forget, you have to restart from your last save point.
Challenge: You can't take heart container or heart piece. This mean 3 hearts all the playthrough!
5:42 "heart pieces are gonna be so good until you guys decide that I can't use them anymore" "Hey bingus, it's time"
Wait no
@@QuinBoBin Idk about doing it this early in but doing it later in the playthrough could be doable. Once you've got like 10 hearts or something you could do it. Though my number one challenge would absolutely be the ganon amiibo, that alone was enough of an excuse to make me replay the game ahaha.
That’s a fun Ocarina of Time run!
Keep up the great work, king your content always makes me smile
7:24 : "Can you uhm can you no slap me please?" 9:51 : "The best part of being a dog is that Midna hits so hard"
Just a friendly reminder that you are amazing and appreciated
First of all: Haven't been here for too long but I gotta say, your ability to make me smile amongst all that stress built up by university is remarkable, thank you so much for everything you do! Now onto some smol ideas: 1. Old-but-gold: Beat the game with 3 hearts only. Have done that in every Zelda I've ever played and always loved it! 2. A little something for the cave of ordeals: Do the whole thing wearing the magic armor, from start to finish. Gotta do it fast and with as little hits taken as possible. 3. The only enemies that you are allowed to kill are ones that have hit you at least once before. For this one you basically gotta choose if you really wanna fight or not as you have to take damage first and get no hearts back in hero mode! 4. No special abilities, except the needed ones of course! 5. Wear iron boots at every miniboss and / or boss you fight. Greetings from Germany! ^^
Here's a fun challenge for you. Walk backwards through a Dungeon. Like shield foward and go! Hehe
Challenge 1, not being terrified of the mailman when he comes sprinting at you.
impossible, can't be done
100% one of them should be you can not use your sword, you have to use bombs strategically
YES TWILIGHT PRINCESS IS BACK BABYY! I’m so happy that this is also your favorite 🥹
Challenge idea: No healing from bottle items. For context the only way for you to heal would be from the over world and dungeon fairies (which are not common until you have better healing methods) and through spirit springs (and i guess off of heart pieces and containers too but you would need to farm those so it isn’t a consistent healing method), where standing in the water would give a slow healing over time. Hero mode is kinda hard in the early game due to a low heart count and lack of healing outside of the aforementioned methods, so you may want this as a later challenge rather than an earlier one, but ill suggest it anyway.
Forget heart pieces, no more grabbing the heart containers.
Challenges: You always have to walk backwards or you can only have one skill for the rest of the game.
Challenge idea: Include Midna's goodbye & your reaction to it in the video.
Challenge: You are restricted from targeting. No targeting enemy’s, npcs, ect. The one rule is that you can’t target.
Challenge Idea: You can only heal with Rare Chu Jelly, Great Fairy Tears or Milk, limited to one bottle of milk at any given time(and Heart Pieces/Containers too, I guess if they aren't restricted, or necessary pickups like Tears of Light). Baby Challenge Idea: Potions only for healing(no fairies basically) Challenge Idea 2: No Hylian Shield(unless absolutely necessary, which I don't think it is).
Pain? Suffering? Yeah I think you should do a blanket no saves challenge where if you die you restart. We'll call it a "Nuzlinke"
Eyy, more Midna! I don't have any challenge idea, but a no-shield run just sounds like your averages let's plays on Zelda games lol
Challenge: once you get the zora tunic wear it for the rest of the game so that you take extra damage from ice and fire attacks. Another idea is that you use the ordon sword for most of the playthrough and use only the master sword when the game demands it.
Yes! I love this game. It’s so beautiful, and I prefer it to wind waker. Challenge idea 1: no Faries. Not one. Challenge idea 2: no simping over midna. The hardest challenge of them all Challenge idea 3. every other combat encounter must be swordless. Only items
on different platforms the game was flipped left to right, you should try only equipment and throwables next vid, great vid as always tiny green man!
Having beat this game in hero mode, 3 hearts, no fairies, I can confirm this is the best one to load up 20+ challenges on. I'd have been worried if you picked any others.
Love this game too-excited to see this challenge run!
Challenge: Don't pick up any rupees until you need to buy something. I wanna add, 'and no more than what you need to get it' but I don't know if that would work. If you can swing it, I think this would be hilarious.
Challenge: You're not allowed to ride Epona. (outside of story fights) You have to backflip across Hyrule Field.
Love seeing you playing Twilight Princess again! This was my first zelda game and it's such a great one. Hopefully you can get all the way through it with all the challenges we suggest!! As a challenge idea, no teleporting with midna? gotta walk all over the map! explore those hidden spots!
Challenge: find a mod or commission a mod online that makes it so Twili (tall) Midna sits on your back the whole time instead of the short little imp. Tall Midna is love Tall Midna is life
YES QUIN IS BACK WITH THE GOBLIN YOU MADE MY DAY! :D
Challenge idea 1: you can’t use any item unless the game requires it for progression or this challenge opposes another challenge Challenge idea 2:electric boogaloo: if you pick up a rupee, you have to die/reload your last save where you don’t have any rupees (unless they’re mandatory for progression or another challenge requires you to have them.)
the correct choice for a favorite Zelda game that said - challenge idea; *no targeting* advanced challenge idea; the entire game is just goat herding
You are so entertaining, and I LOVE this idea! Here’s mine - Challenge: You can only side hop or backflip in combat. No walking/running, and ‘jumping’ forward is only for finishing moves.
Love the idea of a new challenge after each dungeon. My first challenge idea. You can't use any hidden moves except for the mandatory 'ending blow' on Ganondorf at the end of the run.
I'm super excited for this, I love it when people do things like this with my favorite games. Twilight Princess is my favorite game of all time so I'm looking forward to another playthrough.
The map flipping is probably a call to the Wii version of the game, which was how I played it as a kid. I think they decided flipping the whole map was the best route rather than just flipping Link's model to match how most people hold the remote right-handed
Challenge idea: you must have your lantern burning at all times, you can have it hanging from your hip, but if you turn it off or it runs out of fuel you fail and need to go back. This restriction would add a time limit to many areas and dungeons as well as adding an element of resource management where you need to maintain your stock of oil and can’t use as many bottles for healing because you need more oil storage. This might not work if the lamp burns out too fast, but maybe you could do it once you have several bottles, or create a more reasonable version of it like only needing to light the lamp under certain conditions or limiting your visibility somehow whenever it’s off.
Love that you are playing this game...not many do and I don’t understand why so I’m keen to see you play through.
Yyyyyyyeeeeeeeeesssssss
Great video as always Quin, as for challenges, I've got one, though you'll only be able to do it by the beginning of the third dungeon, once you get the zora armor, you can't unequip it (you get extra damage from fire and ice) it's similar to what some people say about using Ganondorf's amiibo, but you don't to go through the trouble of buying one.
You should complete a dungeon by only moving with backflips (unless you can't like with the Magnet walls)... It has the added benifit of sounding like it would be awful to watch and we clearly like to suffer
Win Hitless. You get hit once, you reset to save.
Challenge, every sort of ammunition or item that requires refills, you can only use up to half of them, basically with your slingshot, bow or even bombs you can only use up to half of the max amount (ex: 30 arrow quiver = 15 arrows you can use etc.)
Oh wait, one more. Every time you defeat an enemy with your sword, you have to sheathe it. If Link does the flourish, you have to let him do it. If he does his flourish and gets interrupted by an enemy attack, you have to say in a vengeful, growly voice 'death to all x' where 'x' is the name of the enemy type that interrupted Link's flourish.
00:35 Because we like to watch you suffer? No Quin - YOU just like to suffer
First things first when i read you say twilight princess was your favorite. I agree its also the first one i played and still a favorite of mine. Great video can wait to see more!
i’ve loved watching your twilight princess play through, it’s exciting to watch another kind
Challenge idea: don’t learn any of the optional hidden sword moves
I couldn’t figure that out as a lil boi so I did this challenge on my first playthrough
Don't you need some to beat the Darknut in the Temple of Time?
I don’t think so as I don’t see why they would be optional if you needed them to defeat the darknut
Require him to get all the hidden skills. It's not hard, but he didn't do it on the original one, so give him a bit of an easy start to the challenges
My favorite youtuber played my favorite video game on my birthday! Also I think it would be interesting if one of the challenges is you cant collect the hearts you earn after a boss fight at the end of each dungeon
I’ve been watching your videos a while now I love your content bro!!
Challenge: Only talk about Midna/say "the small man" twice per episode.
This is gonna be great love you vids 🙂
No shield isn’t a challenge, that’s just the way the playthroughs work.
I’ve been in the community since 20k and honestly I’m proud big man Also challenge: every time you die three times make a botw episode
You could just do a three heart run, that's a classic! In other words, no picking up any of the heart containers that the bosses drop or any additional heart pieces.
Challenge: Acquire the Magic Armor, Zora Armor, or Iron Boots, but can never take them off.
Here's a challenge idea: no lock-on. That would be difficult
Ur content is amazing keep it up!
The great plateau challenge xD austinjohnplays came up with it a while back, you’ll have to fight every enemy that doesn’t respawn on the great plateau before leaving in master mode
