    @AirplaneModeMedia@AirplaneModeMediaАй бұрын
    • Not sold out? He runs a podcast on social media lol what are you talking about? Selling out, usually refers to musicians who will change their music to be more commercially successful. I guarantee you that the only reason why he does a podcast is to sell more tickets for his live shows, not to interview C list celebrities from 20 years ago as a passion. Give me an example of a stand-up comedian who doesn't want money, or wants less money or less recognition.

      @scottmattern482@scottmattern482Ай бұрын
    • @@scottmattern482I dont disagree, but the podcast does more than that. Keeps him in the "mainstream"-ish zone. Also very likely that he'd like to speak to some of the guests. And by clean/sold out, he probably means whether or not Theo has been bought already.

      @sb2h@sb2h18 күн бұрын
    • @@sb2h maybe I am misunderstanding something. What does it mean to "buy" a comedian? Like some company will hire him to do advertising for them, as long as he gives them final creative control of the jokes he says? Isn't that called a commercial? Or do you mean that a production company might pay a comedian a substantial sum of money as long as they have final creative control over and own any jokes they write over X number of years, including the guests on a podcast? Writing, recording, mixing, publishing, marketing, and distributing a song/record is far different than saying funny things. What am I missing here, what does it mean for a comedian to be a sellout or be bought? can you give an example of a comedian who sold out?

      @scottmattern482@scottmattern48218 күн бұрын
    • @@scottmattern482 I cant say for sure what the original commenter meant specifically, it could've been one of the things you mentioned. There's lots of conspiracy about the show business, be it acting, comedy, music, etc. I don't pay much attention to pop culture so I wouldn't be the best person to explain, but if you're interested I know Dave Chapelle has had interesting run-ins with conspiracy-like things involving someone being "bought." There's also things like the gay situation in the rap community. Bought, as I'd best describe it, is someone that already accepted support from a source and is now somewhat controlled by that source via blackmail, debt, connections, etc.

    • Hey same here, but I was 14 or 15. I went with my mom & brother & the amount of joints I seen being passed in front of me was unreal. I didn't smoke anything but definitely caught a little contact high. We had a blast that night though with some great memories. Well other than putting on a badass white shirt my mom bought me at the arena just to have some drunk couple that was arguing behind me got beer all over it. I don't know if the girl kicked or threw her drink at him, but I know 80% of it nailed my back. I was so pissed, but Kid Rock put on such a hell of a show I forgot all about it by the time his next song started. I also remember being seated somewhat close to the pyros & the heat those kicked out were unreal. It felt like my hair was about to singe up.

With that kind of timeline im very aware of Bob Ritchie thru the years and heard lots of stories. Sure im still a fan, not hardcore but enough to know he is what he says he is. Under the pressure he lives under daily with money at play lets see how good you navigate that field before you talk bad about the man. The fact Theo has him on here seems like a great combo for these times we live in. Theo knows whats down and real even while acting a little clueless...that is the brilliant part of his comedy! Anyone here right now without an ego could hang with these two right after this "interview" and fit right in. Both have worked real hard for their money and both have done some serious self introspection to improve themselves so they can stay on this earth longer hopefully. I respect that.
