Watching this I feel like I was at your elbow learning and sharing the wonderful experience!
Great! That's the idea.
On my word. What a place to do photography. Gorgeous landscapes. Awesome birds to take amazing shots of. I so love the osprey. Just an amazing bird. And Sony is putting out amazing cameras and lenses. So many are selling their gear to go to them. And I see why by what they are making. I won't be changing though. Can't afford it. But enough people are maybe someday I will get my dream D500 cheap enough I could afford it. Yeah right. (Trying to live on social security disability is depressing for a photographer. But I'm blessed beyond my means thanks to awesome people.)
Thanks Mark. The Sony 200-600mm seems awesome !!
Superb! Thanks for sharing!
Mark thanks for the video! AUSOME! Im so glad that Sony made this lens affordable for those in the hobby, and I had enough foresight to preorder one after announced! I really love this lens and finally have a great 600mm! Also funny how my first photo was a Ruby Throated Hummer, light was terrible, but still a wow! Please keep up the videos and great stories.

Amazing vid, bro!
Amazing beauty! i will practice on that fast moving osprey which i love to shoot..maybe in the future i will get that shot! tahnk you so much i always enjoy watching your videos.
Mark Smith waxing lyrical and taking fabulous pictures, what more could I ask?! Thanks Mark, terrific video, as usual. I'm very tempted by the 200-600, but I've been getting great results with the 100-400 and 1.4x converter, so I'll wait a while.
Hi Mark! Great content and what a nice lens! I recently bought one for my alpha a7II and it does take nice shots. I'm pretty new to wildlife photography and thought that I wouldn't have to get too close to fill up the frame to see the minute details, but I find I still have to crop. I know I need to keep working on my technique. Do you crop or just maneuver a little bit closer to the subject to fill up the frame?
I've been loving the 200-600, so far. You had many great birds and beautiful photos! Very jealous 😁
What a great lens and happy you're happy with it Stefano. I however will be sticking with the 400mm 2.8 as I did not like the background separation an f6.3 lens gave me even at 600mm although when the subject is close it can be really nice. The other issue I had was that it's a 200mm F5.6, which means you really will be only using the longer end and that's okay but somewhat of a waste. I would much rather have a 200-400mm F4 lens that you add a 1.4x TC to like Nikon to Canon has.
@@patricksmith2553 I agree! I find the 400 f2.8 beautiful and the backgrounds are gorgeous on it! I'm crossing my fingers they will release a 300 f2.8 sometime down the line. I think pairing that lens with the 200-600 will be a great combo. How do you like the 400 f2.8 for birds/wildlife?
@@StefanoIaniro It's amazing Stefano, the 400mm 2.8 has the greatest acuity of any lens. The only thing comparable to it's IQ is the Zeiss Otus lenses. So from that standpoint there is no comparison and the crop setting is very useful. I have a 1.4x TC but I rarely use it anymore and will probably sell it when the A7R IV arrives! I think the new A7R camera will change the way people approach shooting wildlife and the thing I hate most about the other Sony camera's has pretty much been addressed, which is the ergonomics. So hopefully the next A9 will be even better than the A7R IV.
@@patricksmith2553 Hahaha you just said exactly what I was thinking about the A7RIV. I will definitely be buying it too. The fact that the crop mode is 26 megapixels (more than my A7III) is insane. I might rent the 400 f2.8 for an upcoming birding trip. I'd love to give it a try.
How's the 400 2.8 compare to the 600f4?
Another great video, photos and commentary . I love this channel :). Greetings from Poland :).
Thanks
My dream setup. I have the a9, I'm going to be buying a 70-200f2.8 for sports this winter... but my soul lusts for the 200-600! Incredible shots!!
Thanks for sharing stunning photography
Thanks
simply amazing stuff!
Thanks
I really liked your series of hummingbird images. That was an excellent micro tutorial on lighting and composition. I’d have probably been so happy with the first shot that I wouldn’t have moved around to get the even better ones.
Thanks
Mark you never cease to amaze me. Your poetic narratives are only surpassed by you action packed moments of beauty that are timeless elegance. This is the magic of photography. Capturing the moment and freezing it so that it can be studied and appreciated beyond what the human eye can record. Some day we will meet. ~ your neighbor
You are quite poetic yourself! Thanks for the kind words.
It makes me feel what new level of AF beast the A9 ii will be with a superb photographer like Mark, awaiting for that future video already...
Me too😁
Fantastic Mark love your work would realy love to see the a7r mk4 with the 200-600 as I think it could be the ultimate wildlife set. 👌🙌
