*MAJOR* SWAT TRUCKS, CARS, MINIVANS & BEARCATS RESPONDING CODE 3! + ON SCENE! AND MORE!
This call all started off with a armed robbery. At around 3:26 PM Henderson 911 received a call regarding a male, 57 year old Jeffery John Kappus that robbed someone at gunpoint at the Bank of America located at 1100 N Green Valley Parkway. Jeffery requested $40,000. The PR (Person Reporting) put a tracker in the money. HPD quickly responded and requested LVMPD’s Air unit to respond and follow the vehicle. The tracker stopped at Mountain View park. The tracker continued to move EB (East Bound) through the parking lot as units arrived. The school next to the park went on lockdown. HPD requested HFD to stage for safety. The tracker then started to move WB towards wigwam at 2 MPH. The Tracker then started to move at a higher rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle. The suspect vehicle crashed into several vehicles as officers were in pursuit. 1 person hopped out of the vehicle on the freeway and officers went into foot pursuit. 1 person was taken into custody but the tracker was still moving. Officers continued to follow the path of the tracker. At one point the tracker passed the west HPD substation at 53 MPH. Vehicle made a u-turn and went into the neighborhood next to the west HPD substation. HPD units flooded the neighborhood. The vehicle a red car came to a final stop at a residence. A female ran inside the house. The tracker stopped inside the house. 1 female was detained. But the tracker continued to move throughout the house and the backyard. Another subject came out the front compliment and advised there is 3 more inside, a granddaughter, a grandson, and the suspect Jeffery. Announcements were started around 4:10 PM. Henderson SWAT and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police ARMOR were dispatched and quickly responded. Another female came to the door and shut it. She then came out a few minutes later. The female was identified as the mother. Jeff is still inside the residence. Suspect then advised he only has 7 months to live. At this point they started negotiations. After about a hour or 2 of negotiations no response: HPD played a message from a family member to try to get him out. With no response HPD shot several flash bangs. After no response again, HPD and armor sent in the robot. They located Jeffery in a bathtub upstairs deceased. Officers made entry and went upstairs to administer aid to Jeffery. He committed suicide. The cause of death was GSW (Gun Shot Wound) to the head.

I see most of those units used for drug dealing busts, the less they look like law enforcement vehicles the better, but they probably needed extra cars, and thats what they had.

You can't expect to rob a bank and get away with it these days, so you would think they would go into knowing that at some point they are going to prison. $40,000 isn't going to get you some Villa in a non-extradition country. It’s crazy that they put those little amount of lights on the vehicles (particularly the minivan) that need to respond in an emergency and wonder why people aren’t yielding right away. Hell they can’t see you. I get they need to be low key but you can be that and have effective lighting when needed. I’ve seen it.
Yeah I do agree the lighting packages need to be upgraded.
They have minimal lights because they probably use those cars for stealth operations, where a bunch of lights will make people suspicious

They swap those out pretty often anyway, if you were to run the plate it would just show city owned, and not give any revealing information.

Thank you!: and good question. I know they are swat because I talked to the commander and those are all of the vehicles swat uses. I also know because they dispatched swat and no one else besides the marked patrol units.
