  • I would love to see more videos with curly/wavy hair. There are so many of us and until recently, I kept thinking I had “frizzy hair” only to find out it is wavy and have been fighting my hair and getting the completely wrong hair cuts as well as not putting in the correct product (and amount). Most videos are for those with straight or “controlled” hair when that is not representative to a big chunk of us. But love your videos and lots of amazing tips. Thanks a bunch :)

    • @justinhickox Actually, to be very honest with you. My most favorite style would be untamed loose curls as they express a feeling of freedom and curls to go away from the face as opposed to towards. I find it looks way more youthful and fun. I only sometimes straighten to break any routine. I think that hair, from an artist's point of view, is a way to fully demonstrate our personal energy. For example, I am extremely creative, resourceful, and playful. I so I allow my hair to grow, stay loose, I curl it then allow it to play around me.

  • You have no idea how happy this video made me. I had been watching another stylist on YT for a bit and liked his videos until the day he basically said nobody should ever have bangs and if a stylist suggests it to you get up and leave. I was literally enraged that a professional would give this kind of advice! I listened to that nonsense for over 20 years until I got to my mid-30's and finally shut everyone out and did what I wanted to do. Bangs were a revelation for me because my hair is so thick and there is so much of it. I finally found the solution to a hair problem I'd had since my teens in the 1980's. Now in my 50's I still have my bangs and nobody would ever get me to grow them out, so thank you for showing bangs the respect they deserve!!!

It also encourages curl (I’m not super coily , more loose curls mixed with waves) and I love volume so the layers kinda help me bring volume and width right to where I want it. • I definitely vibe with style #5! I will have to have it done at my next hair appointment! I have fairly long, silver hair that's naturally curly. Last time I got a trim I didn't get layers for some dumb reason and I noticed a huge difference in how my hair looked! For me layers are a must!! My age is 51 btw....

  • 73 with thinning hair. Always had lots of thin hair but now my volume is much less. Recently switched to a chin length cut without layers. I wash twice a week and condition the ends but add volume mousse to the roots. Face with good cheekbones, high forehead, long narrow shape. Always wore my hair shoulder length until recently. I like your channel and suggestions.

    • @@justinhickox I appreciated you showing the layers on wavy or textured hair. That's what mine resembles when it is long, even if I blow it out to be rather straight to begin with. Also, having enough layering towards the top (without being too short or disconnected) helps keep my volume from being too flat. (I guess it's the shape of my head and hairline.)

But the curl…omg they are out of control 😢 I had a stomac surgery and lost a lot of hair, now they are growing back and the curl are going every way possible. I have frige because my fronthead look huge without it, but if i dont flat it mech goes one side for one and the other side for another …it look neglected! I ask for front layer the last time, because i had listen to your advice, but the person woud not donit because the were too curly! She said! I will still listen to your video and hope I find a good place to have my hair done as good as the picture you show in this video Great content

  • Thanks for the video! Do you recommend someone with a larger forehead to get bangs as the solution to downplay it? Trying to decide if I could handle the feeling of bangs on my face.

    @kristalaugust6376@kristalaugust63765 ай бұрын
    • Great question! Absolutely bang will help to take some of the length out of your face and add a bit of width to it. It doesn’t have to be full bangs, it could be something like a swept off bang or a butterfly bang style as well. Having something falling along your forehead will help to offset the height of the forehead, and therefore the length of the face. Does that make sense?

      @justinhickox@justinhickox5 ай бұрын
    • @@justinhickox Yes, that makes sense and is helpful, thank you! I think starting with a side swept bang might be the way to go to ease into it.

  • I'm 53 and I have bangs and I've given myself more layers as I cut my own hair, not a professional and I love it but I know a professional would do so much better, so I really like the Dakota Johnson look, that is similar to what I have. I'd love to see more videos of cutting styles/layers on women who already have bangs and not curtain bangs as 99% of videos are on women with no bangs and how you cut the layers is different than if you just have have that's one length.

  • @Justin Hickox... I've love the Hedi Klum and Jaclyn Smith(MY Favorite female idol)I'm an 80's girl and for me i always believe to look my best my hair has to be high by using tons of spray. They downside is my hair doesn't move, by the end of the day it looks horrible, especially if I have to walk around outside and it looks overly flat when the wind blows my hair down. My daughter tells me to stop trying to get to heaven with the height of my hair,lol. I've NEVER been vain, EVER until getting older and the grays comes faster and my hair is thinning and I'm ready for a modern style that is movable but gorgeous, fluffy, and remains looking gorgeous all day not just looking good until i step foot out the door. I BEG OF U...PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO ACHIEVE THESE 2 ICONIC GORGEOUS STYLES, PLEASE.❤ IM DESPERATE PS...would u recommend either of these to someone who has had the 80's feathering talls hair for over 30 years? I really do wish i can forgo that hard to manage style to something modern
