Bonjour à tous,
This week at the chateau, Ash & Graham carry on work in what will be the kitchen on the third floor, plus get the spare room sorted and what will be the study. each of these rooms have long been forgotten with little work done to them in the last 40+ years. Now with the help of Graham, these rooms are slowly coming back to life.
Terry & Graham tackle the tricky plasterboarding for the kitchen and fit a door to what will be the entrance to the third floor, but Terry may have made a little mistake measuring it.
Plus a massive thank you to ECOFLOW

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

  • My sister is a widowed senior who lives alone in an apartment building. Her town had a tornado a few weeks ago and she was without power for almost 4 days. If she had an EcoFlow she could have kept her android charged so she could keep in touch with her family, run a fan in the hot apartment, tuned into a radio to keep abreast of the news and saved most of the items in her fridge/freezer.

  • LOL: "We trust your vision...we have to." It is so sweet and precious and rare the way Ash has your back, Terry. He lets you soar and believes in your judgement even though he admits that he himself is flying blind. Graham is such a delight. I have come to believe that the greatest gift you can have as a child, one that sets you up for life, is the confidence instilled by unconditional love from your family. It is obvious that both of you had this. My husband and I had very different childhoods but we both had this and even though we were very different people I think it is one of the things that made our love and our marriage so strong.

  • So glad you added a door to your private space. It will help block sound that can travel up the staircase. It will also act as a reminder when the b & b is up and running that when you are in there it is your down time. Not for the guests to pop in with requests or just to chat. Downstairs working and available. Upstairs finished for the day. Good separation of tasks.

  • Oh, that door installation.... I instantly thought, with that opening, it would have been an amazing opportunity to do - a secret door!! Fx., If you remember, Stephanie and Phillip bought some beautiful fake book ends, and something like that would have looked so nice! You could have set it up, as just a little, innocent reading nook, at the top of the stairs 😃 Ah, soo many ideas... 😂 And it would have been a little fun, that the owners would go upstairs - and "disappear" magically! AND, it would turn your appartment, into the secret headquarter!! 😂

  • Those EcoFlow chargers seem like a really good idea. My husband and I were discussing the different ways we could use them. He does handyman work for others and could benefit from using it on jobs where power isn’t readily available. Also, several years ago our area was hit by massive tornadoes and we were without power for several days. That would have helped us immensely at keeping phones charged to keep in touch with others, and using a larger one might have prevented food loss from lack of fridge or freezer. I lost nearly 30 quarts of blueberries that year! Ash does a great job representing this product!

  • I live in Michigan, USA. We are being told to prepare for power disruption this summer. There are to be rolling blackouts, Brown out, and temporary power disruptions. So I certainly would be glad to have one of the ecoflow units to power what electrics I need. I will be 76 in another month and a half and I would like to be able to not be a burden on other people when these disruptions happen. Thanks again, and continue your endeavor to restore your chateau and property. I enjoy seeing your family working so well together to accomplish the restoration.

We're on a tight budget so we've had to work when we can afford supplies and make our money count. We're almost done with the van and I think we're going to love it. But, one thing we struggle with is a power source. We can't afford a full solar setup so when I saw your video I said oh my gosh this would be perfect for us.We could really put this to good use. This past week we have been at 106f (41c) most days, my small home does not have central air conditioning, and I have to use portable room A/C. It costs me more than $200usd to run one of them for a month (only during the daytime). It would help me so much to have a solar unit like that. Anyway, I so enjoy watching your videos and I would LOVE to come to France and help you guys with the restoration. • I work as a Stonemason and most of the jobs I work on don’t have power yet or if they do it’s just a temporary pole that is shared between the different tradesmen so the small power supply would be really helpful. My family and I also camp very often in remote areas in the Southern Appalachian Mts. and could really use one the Solar setups with portable power supply. I can’t believe the amount of progress y’all have been able to make on your property so far but the real reason my wife and I love your channel is the loving family dynamic that y’all share with us. Y’all are a great example of how a family can work and live together while sharing an incredible family bond. • I would love this for my husband to have power in his shed, instead of having extension cords all over the garden which is a trip hazard for me, I’m not steady on my feet and stay in when he’s working. I love watching your videos ❤️🇬🇧

  • Hi everyone thanks for the chance to win this fab product. I am a nursery school teacher. We use music in the garden for the children to dance to and stories. This would be an amazing help when we are out on trips or at the bottom of our garden where the extension lead won’t reach. Eco flow sounds like a life saver. Have a happy week everyone. Xxx

  • I am disabled, love to do crafts, gardening and I am building a dollhouse. One of those things would make it so I wouldn't have to transfer back and forth from my wheelchair to from a plug, for my devices and tools I use, it would be wonderful. Thank you for sharing and the wonderful videos.

  • Dear Terry and Ash, We have enjoyed watching all your projects and doing some catch up. As in the last month starting watching you all in your day to day tasks. We feel a part of your family and being there. We live in California. U.S. and electric is really costly and occasionally goes out. Having a great power back up would be wonderful. Our best regards, Robert & Jun

  • Wow, would love the mini. Would be fantastic for tossing in the back of a vehicle to use tools when away from other power sources. Also for power outages from storms.

  • I would love a Ecoflow mini for two reasons. I’m soon to embark on a house build and can foresee so many uses for one, similar to yourselves. The second reason is for my nephew who’s in an electric wheelchair and we’ve been caught out a few times when his battery has run low (mostly when he’s been charging around at full speed using it up - well he is only 11) and having a power bank with us on trips out would be a great back up. You are making such great progress with the renovations. I love seeing when your families come over to lend a hand. Can’t wait to see you finis out your own quarters.

  • I would love one of those for myself because I live alone and have no car so when the power goes out and it does this time of the year here I would not have a panic attack losing power because I have a breathing machine that has to be plugged in . Good luck everyone ❤️🙏🏻

  • We love camping and we don't always use electric hook up if it is only for a few nights, with this we could keep our mini fridge/freezer going so our Huskey can camp with us all the time, plus for hiking or on the beach with the grandkids, we could take our electric BBQ and it could run the doggy shower so everyone could rinse off at the car and the car stays clean, the uses are endless, these are the few that instantly came to mind, making memories with all the mod cons!

  • I became a widow a few years ago and after some thought about what I would like to do with my life now without my husband, I decided to buy a 16 ft camper, Used. Come to find out it had a lot of water damage. So I've started tearing it apart and I am hoping to be able to have it totally off grid and none toxic to the environment. I am putting a lot of effort into finding reclaimed light weight wood for it. As it has a weight limit of course. But when it's doneI think I'd like to up to the mountains in Maine where I am originally from and live off the land. My husband would have loved that!!!!

  • I live in a 36 foot, 1981 vintage trailer that I renovated. It's in an old growth forest in Washington state in the US. Every winter brings power outages from snow storms. Often, I am snowed in, so I can't drive somewhere else. When the power goes off, I bundle up with extra layers of clothing and wait about 3 hours for the power to come back on. I don't have a generator, because they are too heavy for me to lift, so these products would be just right. It would be nice for running a space heater and charging my phone.

  • We have hurricanes quite frequently in Louisiana. These type items to power small items like a fan or tiny refrigerator are super! These are safer and better for the planet than gas run generators.
