    • yes also he prefers the wide angle ones not squared ones. But you see he uses his camera as a web cam. Give a research on your wifes camera and see if you can use it was a cam and the do a review witch is better. maybe thats why he said he stick to the other one.

  • Excellent comparison. This is EXACTLY the video I was looking for. I'm upgrading from a Lifecam 5000 and am a fairly casual user - but am considering using this to facilitate Online English lessons and want the camera to have enough potential to last me a couple years as well as meet or exceed my current needs.   • The C920 was a great little camera for me for the past 5 years, but the StreamCam definitely looks sharper and better lit. Interestingly the C920 has better audio (although mine always had digital interference so yours seems to have a better mic than mine) that framerate of the c920 in low light though... motion blur for days. Nice comparison! Looks like I'll be getting the streamcam. nice to see they gave it a worthy upgrade.

  • Just what I was looking for! I'm on the C922 at the moment and I've noticed the picture quality, chromakey quality, and framerate are really not where I'd like them to be. Specifically I want a much crisper, higher framerate yet affordable camera for recording and this looks right up my alley. Thanks for the review!

  • Great review. I did made a choice to buy the StreamCam as an upgrade from my 5+ year old C920. Got it delivered today and just needed a USB C hub on my rig for full functionality of 60FPS video.

  • Thanks for also testing audio quality, something no one else seems to include. To my ears the streamcam sounded better. Obviously your dedicated microphone gives a lot better sound.

    • yeah you can't expect sound quality of a dildo mic from this webcam, so I think this is as good as one could expect

  • I absolutely love this, there's no reason for me to get an expensive camera for what I want to do on my upcoming podcast. I'll just get two of those streamcams. Likewise, I already own cameras for photography. Thanks for making this review.

  • Brilliant review, thank you for the comparisons! At the time of writing this (14/09/2022) the StreamCam in off-white is the same price at the moment as the C920 on Amazon UK - so this is a no brainer for me.

    • i'm only halfway through and see a big difference - wasn't expecting that most other webcams all look the same the streamcam maybe has a bigger sensor or something because wow cons: looks like you almost need to have usb C to get the full quality, pricey

  • Great video - thank you. Considering that the C920 prices have increased due to demand, the StreamCam, even at a higher price, seems like a better value now. I'm a bit of a stickler for clarity and colour due to a past career in broadcasting so I'm thinking I will pony up for the difference. Your video and audio comparisons were super helpful. Thank you for helping me make my decision.

  • May I suggest an additional test case, of having the bright window behind you and just monitor for the light on your face, as a way to stress the HDR capabilities of the cameras you're testing. Thank you for consideration.

I didn't want to show my messy apartment when using a webcam of my choosing so would love to the feature you used where I can only see you kinda cut out from the background.   • Really helpful! I have been researching webcams for a nascent, niche academic KZhead channel that is mainly interviews online, i.e. nothing exciting. It seems the 920 is sufficient with an independent mic and some lighting.

    • It works very well as a plug and play. The included software makes things easy to use and configure. The only drawback is that it is USB-C. If you don't have a dedicated USB-C port and use an adapter, you may run into issues.

  • Such a great video. Low lighting had poor visibility on the Streamcam, but much better performance than the C920. The compensating overexposure on the C920 was painful to watch, so will definitely be getting a good lighting setup. Thanks!

  • Hey nice video! Im having a problem with this cam. I use a 144hz screen and the light from the screen can be seen on my face wich causes the camera to flicker. Will a dedicated led light resolve this issue? I do not experience this with the c525 cam for some reason. 50 and 60hz Anti-flicker does not make a difference.

  • This is a FANTASTIC comparison. As far as I can tell, both cameras provide a gorgeous picture in ideal conditions, but the StreamCam deals much better with being trolled and screwed around with :P
