This is seriously insane dude. Props for even thinking about taking this on.
hello and I agree
Tavarish is probably going to need your Mclaren specialist friend on this one!
@@Emberescan12 I don't think Arne would want to touch this P1
eyyy Alex!!
It's definitely fun to watch and I'm sure Tavarish knows more than I do so I'm sitting here wondering why he didn't just remove the entire engine right away. We all know its going to be done eventually. That said, entertaining as hell and I'll be here for the entire thing either way.
We will never get another opportunity to see a P1 in this much detail. Even though it’s full of sand and stuff, just seeing everything taken apart on this car is awesome. I know it’s a very big project but bring back a P1 is truly amazing. I’m excited to watch and see what happens.
I think the they would end up needing support from actual mclaren engineers at the end of the day, this is a tough one
Dude is unbelievably talented and fearless, taking apart a P1 like it's nothing. Love this channel!
It's not about fear. Basically you look at it as the thing is basically dead you can't make it worse. You only worry about recapping costs spent on it but this car purchase is a tax write off for the business as an expense so at the very least they can deduct 575,000 from taxes.
@@rcp9ty True. If a person's not breathing, pretty much anything you do get them breathing again short of using a crowbar is OK, and you can deduct everything you used from your taxes, and claim damages for the harm you did to the dead body under the religion act. This is how I write off my sweat tents and pentinence explosives.
I was genuinely waiting to see a fish staring back at you when using the boroscope 😂 good luck dude, excited to see your progress on this!
Seeing that engine turn over by hand is such a relief and the cross hatch looks amazing! Now staring at the electric motor as you do this work makes me wonder how sealed it is…
they do seal the electric motor. due to that electric motor seats in the out side of the engine. but I think they never thought to seal it enough for the car to swim in water........ especially salt water.
@@ROSQUILLA02 Well the throttle body isn't meant to keep out flood water either... can always hope.
I just watched your hybrid battery video @Chrisfix
Changing the hybrid battery of a P1 is just like changing the battery in a Prius, right…??😂
wonder if that site you get the Prius Batteries from has a battery pack for this car.
As a McLaren tech seen Tavarish put all this effort on fixing this car is a joy to see. I count the days to watch the next episode just to see what other surprises the car will show.
i think McLaren should see this as a PR opportunity and help Tavarish with some technical advice along the way
Quite the opposite. McLaren Uk have told dealers to not supply any p1 parts for export as they don’t want it back on the road !
@@gavinporter9376wow they such haters
I’m sure Tav wild build it beter than it ever was. McLaren quality is nothing to write home about
@@gavinporter9376How do you know that mate? That's terrible!
This seemed crazy when you first announced it bro, but now i think you are genuinely certifiable! Respect for tackling the project; I don't think there are many if any others who would take it on but all it takes in life for greatness sometimes is one crazy bastard!
I just subscribed to your channel and I've been watching all the videos you've made . I just watched the video about you rebuilding and getting Eric his second love back in his life. Being 70 years old and having cancer twice in the last 40 years an now fighting cancer once more. This time it's terminal but I've managed to stick around with weekly treatments for over 6 years. The video of Eric's fiancee really hit home and I must admit had me in tears more then once. The end had me in tears of joy and I just wanted to tell you what a special man you are and this world could use more people like you. I don't usually stroke someone's ego but you sir deserve all my respect . You are one good person and I'm so glad I found your channel. The channel not only was very entertaining but it gave me hope that there are good people left in our world. God bless you and may he cover you with his grace. I'm looking forward to watch more of your videos. Keep up the good deeds and never change the type of person you are. You have a special gift that the good lord has given you. Keep up the good deeds .
This is hands down the single best KZhead rebuild series to date. I hope you get all the views and sponsor dollars on this series to make things like this worth doing more!
This is not the best…. It is best ever, most epic, crazy-insane, heart-throbbing, series in the universe that has us in the edge of our seats!!! 🤣🤣🤣
This is going to be the BEST series on KZhead for sure
Already epic.
I'm addicted to this series.
I totally agree this is amazing to watch!@pill9rs
It's crazy that Freddie took on a project that even Ed Bolian said "NAH, I'm good". Glad to see the progress team!
😂😂
Imo one of the best things about Tavarish rebuilding these types of cars is that we get to see parts and engineering decisions that were made that otherwise we’d NEVER get to see unless we own or work on these types of cars!! Getting this deep dive into the engineering of the P1 is literally unparalleled!!! Some of the best (if not THE best) rebuilding videos/channels on the entire internet!!! I’ve always loved McLarens and LOVED the rebuild of the 675LT so to see all this on one of my dream cars (the P1) is just FANTASTIC!!!!
This project absolutely deserves the views you're getting. I hope we offset some of those costs for you, friend. I'm here for it. 👏👏
exactly this!!
Mate you have no idea how much I've been dreaming about Part 2!
And now we have to wait for Part 3. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
You just been dreaming about those tight ass pants. 😂😂
And in the end it’s only 25 mins long :(
Hi Tavarish, the way you’ve helped Mat with his GT3 is admirable. The P1 is simply off the scale as far as any rebuild project. I hope you get a response from Frank and there are some unique features you can include in your rebuild. Im in the UK, but if I was local I’d volunteer time to help and learn … subscribed from the first episode … rgds, Paul
i believe in you tavarish, one day you will drive your own P1 with that history and you will be proud of it. maybe all the other youtubers will donate to help you finish this project. its by the way a pleasure to see shmee visiting you. good luck, keep going! greets from munich
Shmee was there?
Turbos "those are gonna be rusted, those are gonna be shot, i think we're gonna need to rebuild them" Has never been said with so much positivity on a $1M car. Tavarish, you have the best attitude for this kinda thing. Keep being yourself champion, you got this, we are all behind you!
I mean, look at the bright side: You can definitely scratch a few more hp out of those turbos while rebuilding them!
@@MC-di7op No. Bad. Don't encourage him.
he just got a $100K win as the engine looks like it's gonna be okay, rebuilding a couple of turbos is peanuts in comparison, so yes he's happy
@@drunkenhobo8020 cmooon let’s be honest isn’t the first thought you have when you look at a p1 "this is pretty nice but it could use a liiittle more power"?? 😇 do it tavarish do it!!

Freddie packing a nice set of tatas 😂😂
This post-flood P1 is in absolute nightmare condition. Successfully repairing it will require incredible patience, perseverance, and unwavering/unconditional love for the car - which is why Tavarish is probably the only man on the planet for the job!
Tavarish out here doing what no one else was brave enough to do lmaooo Edit:ty for 2k likes!
Out there doing what nobody else was STUPID enough to do! End of the argument.
But there's no person i would rarther have do it been waiting on this hats off to tavarish 💯

@@myredute bros mad he couldn’t afford it
Dude is a legend fr
I love how no matter what happens he keeps laughing and smiling. Way to roll with punches man.
After all the effort and loans he invest in this project, there is nothing else left to do
He himself decided to walk into the ring, and is being paid to be in the ring. But yes, I still agree with you.
10:31 The new lifeform: Take me to your leader.
2.1 million views today but only 100,000 likes ??? Why don't you people hit "LIKE" on these videos ? Come on , play the game. Mr Freddie wants your support to rebuild this rebuild we all want to see . . . Thanks.
Definitely should tear the motor down to the short block and have a machine shop clean it while it is apart. All that stuff in the cylinders don’t play nice with piston rings. You’d also be able to clean the rods because from the look of the oil(water) that came out they probably could use a clean. Bare minimum you’ll have to pull the oil pan.
i would do a total rebuild.
Thank you was about to comment this. The peace of mind having a machine shop just rebuild the whole motors would be being would be priceless. Shouldn’t be that much also to rebuild it
Yeah.. If the water came in unfiltered through the exhaust, it is bound to have sand in it... I guess on only half the cylinders, buy still...
My thought too. But what do I know? I drive a big golf cart. Y-something.
I was thinking the same thing as well. My worry would be salt mixing with the water in the oil. The water would come from exhaust gasses leaking past the rings while the engine is running. Because of the small amount of water the solution would be very concentrated and very corrosive. Maybe you might get by with several oil changes in the first few hundred mile but why risk an engine that cost so much. I would just be more comfortable with every bit of salt out of that engine.
Hell yeah brother! That's a major relief to see the engine turned by hand and there being zero rust inside of the engine.
Good day tavarish you have alot of patience love how you work with Mat rebuilding the Porsche a guy you never met before he came to America it shows you have a good heart.
Ive genuinely never ever wanted something to work out so much for someone Ive never ever met. Freddie I wish you all the luck in the world with this project and I hope it comes in better than new and under budget. Keep up the great content. All the best!
Lovely comment mate, spread that positivity.
"under budget"? Is there even a budget? I think buying it in the first place was over budget...
I could of watched this for hours. Wishing you and team all the luck for the rest of the project and can't wait for episode 3!
Same. I look everyday for a new video. Best thing on youtube right now. I wonder if the original owner is watching?
@@dundunkmk420 I know i would be.

I love you for doing man! The p1 has been my favorite car since it came out, I was 12 back then. Now 22 with a better understanding of cars, getting to see it taken apart like this is really a dream come true
Tavarish and LegitStreetCars both working on their McLarens at the same time = tons of content for me to watch. Love it.
If you want more, check out Mat Armstrong.
You probably had a frozen accessory drive when you first tried to turn it over. Them bearings don't love salt water. Really hope this engine is alright for you!
I really enjoyed watching the restoration! My school day's were in the 70s. I had a Honda CB125 back in 78. Enlisted in the Marines during my senior year 79. Great memories and a few bikes after my discharge in 82. New subscriber. 😎✌🏽
I am so all in on this project. It's probably going to be quite a long journey, and that totally cool. Incredible undertaking here and yeah, this is something I need to watch! Wishing Tavarish the best!
I never thought I'd see the inside of a P1 engine with swamp mould. Thank you Tavarish for taking us on this insane journey!!
During the video I really felt sorry for you, then I remembered you actually have a P1 and that you are a car magician with a lot of friends and helpers. You will succeed, of that I am 100% sure! Best regards from Norway! 😊
he have a P1?

Ran across your site the other day and have to say i really enjoy it. Keep the P1 coming. Don't rush and take short cuts. You have this old man looking forward to something for the first time in a lond while.
I think this is one of the best things u have done for this channel. Its gonna get a lot of eyes on this build and hopfully help build this thing up even higher
Can't wait for part 3 already. This rebuild is so exciting
She's a squirter 😂 OMG! I'm sure that I look like a crazy person to the people stuck in afternoon freeway traffic with me. Laughing uncontrollably. Thank you so much Tavarish!
🤣😂
Once you get to the point when you drain the oil mixed with water. Fill it with diesel to flush out the contamination in the engine. I do it when I change the oil on my vehicles. I drain the oil then replace the oil drain plug fill with diesel to the oil equivalent and run the engine for about 10 seconds turn off then drain out diesel and remove oil filter and drain. After draining replace drain plug and new oil filter and fill with oil. I know you are a long ways off from this but it cleans the engine internals very well. Man you have a huge set of stones for taking on this project. I will continue to watch your progress.
I have been subbed to Shmee 150 for ages but when this popped up on his channel a few weeks back I had to subscribe. It's an amazing project and I am completely hooked to see how it turns out. We are never going to get another chance to see a P1 stripped bare like this, just epic. Good luck with the build dude hope you don't run into too many expensive fixes.
This is gonna be one of the best car projects on KZhead, hands down.
it already is 😎
your level of patience working through these issues is unparalleled.
Yeah idk how he does it
Keeping it all crossed you continue to have this level of 'good' as you dive deeper into this build. Can't wait for the next episode.
I've cleaned a lot of rotary presses (pressing pills from powder). You don't use compressed air to the very last, because you will spread powder (in this case sand) everywhere, and everything that previously was clean is now dirty. Including those previously pristine throttle bodies. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment instead. Then the compressed air.
This is probably the best automotive series on YT right now. So proud of you dude. And so excited for whats to come! Way to go man!
Great series so far. Looking forward to the build :)
This is by far the most interesting content I've seen to date. Freddie, i wish you the best on this endearment for this vehicle. Cheering for you on this project!!!!!
Love seeing the content and journey over the years you’ve gone through!
Why not drop the engine take it apart and clean it by hand. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but this car is worth alot of money
Be careful for the fake account
I agree. As you say, the value of the parts is huge, and your time costs much less! My background of rebuilding historic race cars tells me that I would dismantle everything, down to the last nut and bolt and washer. Then you will feel confident that nothing remains that can stop the car performing perfectly. Go for it!
This guys positive outlook is infectious! Good luck with the build
I love this series so much. Great work brother.
Freddie and Matt are the reason why youtube is a good place to be right now !
The amount of time you take to explain what you’re doing is invaluable. Not to mention the time it takes to set up a production to effectively communicate to an audience. It would be easier and faster to just work on your cars without the extra effort. THANKYOU for doing what you love and sharing it. It is an inspiration to everyone. Peace ✌🏽.
Yeah but then he wouldn't have the money to do the projects in the first place.
He is doing it for the money and views mate. None of this would exist without the cameras being there.
Completely agree, Tavarish level of detail is excellent. These videos are edited very well. Not overly polished. Thanks for giving us all this insight.
@@dimsoneillyou say that like you wouldn't do the same thing mate ☠️

Just came across your channel and I'm very entertained and excited to watch this P1 come totally to life, all the best, cheers
For one, I'm so glad you got this project. Also, I appreciate you sharing this journey. We are learning so much about the P1, and it's amazing!
this series is skyrocketing the views!! keep it up Freddy!!! crushing it
This is my favorite build on KZhead atm... I cant get enough of it. Would be cool if you have some raw unedited footage on your second channel (something like DDE boys are doing)

Another great video. I'm learning new motor repair terms every minute! The car's a "squirter" 🤣🤣. Degunkifying! Brilliant 🤣🤣
This is the only video I can think of that I click description ad links because I’m trying to help my boy pay for his car. Been here since 40k when the Gallardo project first dropped.
Would love an hour long video with the P1
That seems like good progress Tavarish. Great it started to turn over by hand. Keep up the good work
Awesome update Tavarish! Look forward to the next installment. Good luck.
TAVARISH, this may sound odd, but I absolutely love when you post videos. It's mainly because I know you're STILL GETTING IT IN, and more importantly, you're okay. I like seeing you okay. Makes me feel like I should be okay as well
I’m excited for you Tavarish. I know you will get it looking and running perfect again!
It's pretty impressive how well everything has been sealed up. Less horror in the cylinders than I expected too considering it sat under salt water for however many hours and then sat in a garage without being cleaned for 3 months. Here's hoping the hard stuff isn't bad though. Really could use a wash still though.
Hey, my man. A) don't go cheap. Pull the engine. Rebuild everything. B) you are going to have to hunt down every wiring connection. That much flood damage, there are going to be phantom electrical problems everywhere.
I love seeing tavarish’s projects come apart. And go back together better than before!
Wow what a project, can’t wait to see if the engine is good!
This is awesome! Can’t wait to see the next episode! Rooting for you!
The cleaning b-roll part is the most satisfying thing.
I would've torn the engine down. No amount of flushing will get the rubbish out. Not to mention the crank and bearings and such is no doubt rusted to s by now.
Who needs sleep when you have Tavarish
Freddy, this was such a satisfying video! I know it takes so much time to rebuild these cars, but it was amazing to see this one completed in one episode and also, so awesome to see the 675 back in action! I'm more pumped about that than anything, lol. Congratulations my friend!
