Scotland's new hate crime law could be used to 'settle scores'
On 1 April, a new hate crime law will be introduced in Scotland. The rules will apply in people's private homes and online.
The legislation criminalises threatening or abusive behaviour based on characteristics including age, disability, sexual orientation and transgender identity.
There are fears innocent people could end up on police databases with controversial new hate crime laws in Scotland being weaponised to "settle scores".

According to the UK government's own website, a petition with 10,000 signatures will see the government respond. If it gets 100,000 signatures, parliament will consider debating the topic. Maybe someone should start a petition to challenge this new Hate Crime Bill?

Scotland is going to be one hateful place. This law states that a hate crime incident will be logged for every complaint even if the law has not been broken! There may be even a table of these imaginary hate incidents to lets us know where all these crimes which were not commited took place. This is on April fools day as well.
