There is literally NO benifit to it at all. The only reason people crop a dog's ears is for the owners benifit of making the dog look scary. It doesn't help th dog in Any way. You can even look it up. Cropping ears has no benifit and instead can be detrimental for the pet.

Do they let you have bulldog and pug breeds there though.... cuz it seems silly to care about one painful experience for a dog over a lifetime of painful experiences day aftar day with the body that has been bent out of shap to the extremes of possibility.... one last maybe a month other one is the dog's entire life.... sure this dog doesn't have cropped ears but it has the unfortunate reality of being born a bulldog....... And you can drive all over on day trips to so many other countries too. Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, it was such a cool experience.

I've had 2 Dobis that I never cropped...out of both deliveries the siblings passed from infections from the cropping...I unfortunately had to pass him off as a Black & Tan to get him into places and keep my home insurance down since they're on the list as dangerous in my state.

The only two bullies I know (I'm in Ontario and technically they aren't allowed here) are absolute terrors 😭 My boyfriend's family has one and his aunt does too and they are both truly awful dogs, despite being raised with plenty of love and care. The aunt's dog is usually nice but will randomly bite from time to time (I have a scar on my wrist from it; she came up to me from across the house and bit me out of nowhere) and the dog's mom will not hear a word against her. She almost killed a puppy by grabbing it by the throat and shaking it, and my bf's aunt refused to put her down. These dogs have never been mistreated and my bf's dog is well trained. He's a normal dog 99% of the time but any time a cat or another dog comes near he tries to kill it (obviously no other pets allowed in their house because of him). It's just instinct; they've been bred to fight. I'm sure some of them are great dogs; some are definitely not however because of bad breeding.

@Dave My bf's dog is well trained though. He just can't be around small animals or other dogs as he has an incredibly high prey drive. The other dog (the female dog belonging to his aunt) is well trained in the sense that she knows how to do a bunch of tricks and is usually a normal, calm dog. She'll just occasionally bite people and dogs... :/ I completely agree that the right people could definitely own bullies safely. I just don't think they're the right dogs for the average family and shelters shouldn't push abused, abandoned pit bulls on to people that have no idea what they're getting into!

A lot of the times they crop the ears and tail for the health of the dog. It’s not just cosmetic. For example if they don’t do the tail the dog can develop arthritis in the hips because the dog is unable to sit properly and will sit on its leg. It can literally shorten the lifespan of the dog and save it a lot of pain in the future.

Some working dogs need it like the tail so it doesn't get caught in machinery or the ears so predators can't grab them. A pet there is no point to do it so i would never have one like that as well.

As for the tails, they often get broken because of intense wagging, so it’s easier and less painful to remove the tail with sedation than by breaking it first
