Here’s Why The Mercedes Benz AMG G63 Is So Desirable
In this video I talk about why I think the Mercedes Benz AMG G63 is so desirable. The Mercedes G-Class has been around for several decades and Mercedes recently gave it a refresh. Beyond the new looks, the G63 still looks like an old school, military inspired, boxy SUV, which is a great thing. Its great because the AMG G63 G-Class looks like nothing else on the road and offer an experience that cannot be matched by the competition.
With its big, torquey, V8 and thunderous quad exhaust, the AMG G63 is also a very quick SUV. Given its size, it can definitely get up and go! The interior was also vastly improve in this generation and this example in the review has the most expensive interior upgrade you can get. Is the G-Glass AAMG G63 desirable? We’re going to find out in this video.

@@icxcnika555 You are quite wrong. I don't know any G63 owners myself included who like where the fuel prices are here in Europe. I can afford the fuel no problem, but that's not the same as one liking to be robbed on the fuel pricing. Driven "gently" and with stop-start on, I get around 17 mpg. But drive normally in Sport that number drops to 10-11 mpg.
I know someone who drives this as a weekend/summer getaway flex car, and then drives his 6year old c300 as a daily, smart guy

I was wondering the same thing. I think it's probably the length of his videos. You know people today have no patience and want EVERYTHING fast no matter the cost or quality. Then add drinking and pot smoking lol. It makes people dense.

Excellent review I like the little points like tje door closing mechanism you pick up on the only thing I would say is the front bar is not standard on them that is added in United States 🇺🇸 not here in Europe you never see one with those here

Seeing that it is far from 6000, this guy needs to read up on his stats. The G63 is about 5400 lbs. or 2450 kg.

The tax law is based on gross vehicle weight, not curb weight, in excess of 6000 lbs. The g63 comes in at 7000+ lbs GVWR. I'm not a tax expert though, check with your Accountant.

@@DriveSteady No now you are twisting things a bit my friend. In your video, you clearly state that it is a 6000 lb car. GVWR is the total weight the vehicle is allowed to weigh, and I'm well aware that it is more than 6000 lb. That includes tongue weight and fully laden I understand the law, that's not the point. My point here is that the G63 is not a 6000 lb car as you claimed it was. We actually had a bit of fun putting mine on the scales when messing around one day, and it was 2527 kg with 3/4 tank of fuel. These are the same scales I use for my GT3 race car. Anyhow, that's about 5660 lbs I believe.😀 I win!🤣

I'm in South Africa and it is almost R2000 to fill the tank but I still don't mind at all because I get to experience the G-Wagon everytime I take it for a spin and it is my favorite for long distance driving for the past 10yrs both generations that I have experienced were just super phenomenal and I can't wait to experience the 2022 model

That being said anyone paying more 5K above MSRP is crazy! *side note I bought my 21 GT500 after viewing your review of the 20 GT500! LOL Man that car is crazy SCARY fast! But the cold start of the GT500 is the best sound I've ever heard. You have no idea how many times at the gas station or wherever people turn around and just to stare of take videos of the car when I crank it up! Anyway, Keep up the great work!

I have a matte black 2022 G63… I’m literally in love w this car. The way it looks, the way it sounds. It’s so unique and definitely a head turner (especially where i live). I literally don’t want another car ever lol it definitely is loud on the highway which is my biggest con. But i just turn my music loud 😂 I’m obsessed lol sport+ mode and i feel like a formula 1 driver 😂 i love my truck.
The thing is that Mercedes didn’t make G63 for the 2022 model year because of chip shortages. The latest is 2021. Unless you are talking about the exclusive edition 55 which there will be only 55 and released ummmm later this year.

This is the perfect example of how the world has become enslaved by trends and more recently social media. I own a brand new GLE 53 AMG that is fully loaded. The dealer called me the other day because they had one of these in the showroom. The fact that this car doesn’t have soft closing doors, keyless open, panoramic sunroof and uses the old entertainment system for almost twice the price just leaves me scratching my head. The only reason I would spend that much on this instead of buying 2 amazing high end cars is to flex. But let’s be honest, nowadays this isn’t much of a flex, there are loads of them

The door open closing sound just CANNOT be heard in a video. It is an amazing sound for sure. As far as the side pipe exhaust; I'm not a fan. If I ever buy one I'll rear exit the exhaust. Good review.

Great review and incredible car, mostly off-road where this really shines. Mercedes has pulled some magic not updating this car to at least current standards on the tech and charging 300k for it? For me, give me a GLS500 and a S500 for the same price.

Love this G class, but incredibly unaffordable. Makes me long for my 1987 Isuzu Trooper with manual transmission. Looked similar great SUV at about and tenth of the price back in the day!!!

Re the sluggish transmission, at a guess it'll have the MB adaptive transmission, it will learn how you like to drive and change to suit once it's used for a while.
Great review. I've never been a fan of the G-Wagons. They always looked like Suzuki Samuri's, or Isuzu Troopers. I've driven one before, and compared to my Cullinan, it lacks weightiness, for a vehicle over 3 hundred grand.

The locks are pretty remarkable. What is really funny is to activate them while you have passengers in the car. They are stupid loud and you car really give people a jolt lol.

I never noticed the side exhaust before. I value quietness so rear exhaust is far more appealing to me. The vehicle is still beautiful.

If you at some point can afford such a car, do yourself a favour and pass on it and get a nice exotic sports car. I had one, and was utterly bored with it after four months. The novelty quickly wears off.
I have one of this but don't drive it daily as I have the second car for local runs. How do you prevent the battery from draining if its not in use for about 3 to 4 weeks?
