Hi Tony, I’m 42 and 13 weeks into boxing. Sparring and training 3 hours every Sunday with ex preofessional welterweight. You and him are well aligned in coaching approach so I find your videos fit nicely. I’m mainly working on my jab so far. I’ve got the bug. I can’t learn enough now. Working on my fitness all the time and I’m coming on with my technique… so much to learn… day at a time. Thanks again for really clear visuals and verbals.
You need 2-3 years to become solid boxer.. best wishes
@@ispeciprasebaunko111 2/3 years lol
@@scottgoodison2666 And some whisky for a pre warmup
40 myself and am loving the fitness and technique aspects of boxing. I was always a wrestler and never got into it myself but always did love watching great matches Great to hear. I’m 3 days in lol
Ah I'm coming back into boxing at 35 and I was wondering how I'd fare with it. No offense but since you're a bit older and still gettin' it in that gives me hope
You can tell that he's a real pro because his demonstration is a demonstration.
Thank you 🙏🏼 :)
@@Tony_Jeffries No. Thank you. I feel like I'm actually learning from your videos rather than being intimidated by an insecure wannabe.

I know you don't know me but you've been my boxing coach for a couple of years now. I've learned so much from just watching you're very detailed videos. People around me are impressed on how much I've learned, and some people are convinced that I had a lot of formal training. The best part is the amount of confidence in myself that I have gained. Thank you, sir! 🙏
Glad to help mate!
He's all of our boxing coach haha

I love watching these videos! I've gone in and out of boxing for years so its always good to see someone patiently going over the basics so i can find flaws in my own techniques
Happy to help mate 👊
I'm in the same boat. What I do is train at a gym and use Tony's videos as a supplement.
@@kyber452 nice! Never stop working on urself brother and you get stronger and stronger
Tony’s videos genuinely improve my technique and boxing in whenever I train
@@Tony_Jeffries A hug from Brazil. I have a doubt. At the moment of impact, does only the wrist stiffen or the whole body?
My gym closed for renovation and I've only a punching bag at home. Im happy to be learning so much from your videos as a beginner! Keep it up!
I love you man!!! Been training for 8 years, still pickup basics from you all the time.
Aye man you've made me box at my local gym and I'm loving it. Thank you for making these vids🙌
Nice mate! Let me know if you got any questions or problem with boxing technqiues
Great vid. Explains the basics, fast enough to keep attention, intresting and informative without going too far in detail. Best basics I've seen in a while
The best tutorial boxing coach on you tube he’s a credit to the sport of Boxing .
Tony you are a living legend! Your way of teaching is just fantastic! All the best good luck man 😊👍
As a beginner, this is exactly the kind of technical video I was looking for. Logical & practical explanation with great video representation. Thanks! Instant follow!!
Even though I’ve seen this video several times I still find the “feint..pivot hook” gag so funny. We’ll delivered sir. Your comedy timing is as good as your punch timing clearly 🤣
haha thanks Joseph... grate observation mate
Found this channel today I love it it’s so informative and I feel like after a few months I’ll feel a lot more confident with self defence thank you sir from a young lad who’s trying to get a bit fitter
Hey mate, good job as always.I have stopped traning boxing from quite some time due to other priorities, but you have returned my spark for practising the sweet science again.God bless you, mate !
hello tony.. im struggling with my hooks on my left but watching this video has shown me my form needs work and thats why im struggling i love your videos they are really usefull revision for me as my kickboxing training was years ago when i was a young boy so im working through everything from scratch... i love your energy and passion and your videos are amazing... big love...
Amazing video, Tony! Super helpful! Thank you so much! Love from Argentina!
Thanks, Tony, for all your videos. Not only I learn a lot of your videos but you are also able to motivate me to try harder. I am just boxing at home on a heavy bag, double ended bag and speed bag without a coach - up to now. From now on you are my coach. All your videos are very helpful and I love watching them. 👍🥊
Great to hear mate! Keep it up... If u don’t mind, could u please share this vid on ya social media please. Will really help me out :) All good if not 👊🏻
@@Tony_Jeffries Of course I will share this vid. 👊

You are the best mate !! Keep doing these great vidoes... Excellent inputs! A lot of details... Awesome coach!! 👌
I was pivoting wrong on the jab - I could see that after I watched this. Thank you.
I love your videos Tony. I have been a fan of boxing for some time but too scared to commit to getting coaching or even practising in the gym. All of your technique videos help me heaps. My shadow and I have been in 100s of bouts so far. I think I am winning ;). Thanks again
Thank you, mate. A lot of additional material to practice. I'm old starter, 36yo, and your videos really helping me with understandings and ideas. Thank you, Tony, from Tony :)
I'm just starting out with boxing, thanks for that. The punches performed correctly look amazing.
Thanks tony, i watch your videos alot so i can learn how to defend myself.
Hi Tony, I've been following your channel for some time now and, by far, you produce the best content on these topics on KZhead -- you do such a good job of communicating in a way that is technical but practical that I really appreciate. I was wondering if i could get your thoughts (and perhaps, can you do a video) on how to manage training in order to suit your strengths and goals -- strength vs. agility vs. endurance. Acknowledging that they're all important in boxing and fighting, sometimes you have to put emphasis on one rather than the other, depending on your physical attributes (eg. size, weight, height, reach, etc.), what you're training for (eg. boxing vs. self defense), and economics (time, resources, space to train). What would you suggest would be the way to make those decisions on what to emphasize and perhaps provide calisthenic exercises (or at least, exercises that do not require extensive/expensive equipment) to improve those aspects.
That was fascinating Tony, thank you!
love the video man i just started boxing and im loving the sport
I have recently started boxing and your content really helps me. Trying to work on my footwork. Love from India.
ur my favourite boxing teacher💪🏼🔥🔥
Practicing boxing 1week Watching all video recommend Thank you so much tony
Fantastic Job with these videos ! thank you!
Thank you for this video.
I'm one of those who loves boxing but there isn't a boxing gym near me but i practice all the stuff u teach even tho i don't have a heavy bag and i'm really enjoying it thank you so much!
I appreciate it mate, try buying heavybag mate and for sure you'll enjoy it more.
Thank you Tony...I will try it tomorrow.
My favorite channel for learning boxing! Keep it up 🥊👊
I appreciate that mate 👊
Great teaching and got a lot out of it. I really appreciate you going over the weight distribution of the feet and how you transition the weight to increase impact for them, however being very fond of % numbers I would have liked if you made it super technical and go over %-ages for every move. Although I have some martial arts experience I could tell a good chunk of your more subtle, finer points were lost on me and would appreciate if you had a guy to pose with the guard, spacing, and footwork shown more clearly. Thanks for your work and I love your content!
Excellent breakdown. Definitely going to refer our beginner students to this video to give them an idea of what punches we'll primarily be working on over the course of our classes. =) Regarding the Bolo punch, I like to explain it as an "uppercut to the body". Strictly speaking this is nonsense (because the punch doesn't go very far up), but the bio-mechanical execution is very similar to a rear uppercut.
Thanks Kris... appreciate it ma man
I'm an intermediate, but found this video great as a review! Definitely learned some things! ✊
Great coaching as always! In addition to shadow boxing and a heavy bag, the only other thing for home training is a full length mirror. Learn a lot from a mirror and it doesn’t lie to you.
Great video mate.
Thanks for re-explaining the basic principles, always need to know what, how and why!! Greetings from Guatemala!! 🥊🇬🇹

GREAT tutorial, champ!!!! ESPECIALLY about the transfer of weight!!!! At Broadway Boxing in South Central, Los Angeles, Vernon Fletcher taught me this well!!!! That was back in the late 90’s!!!!
Thank You First timer to the channel! Now subscribed! Cheers
Thank you Tony. 👏🙌
I'm so glad you said break it down 5 different types of punches you have your Jab your cross your hook your uppercut and you have a overhand off the top my head that's the punches I'm thinking because the cross is a straight punch overhand can find its way over your opponent's hand or glove
Thanks for the new video tony! Starting on a new amateur program at my gym, gonna be lots of work but watching your videos give me the motivation!
Let me know mate if you have any questions that I could help you with 👊

Hey Tony, of the 8 advanced uppercuts what's the difference between 2. "Rear Uppercut" and 3. "Uppercut with Rear Hand", was there a mistake? or is 3. specifically the different ranges of 2.?
I was wondering the same thing

Awesome video setup of listening to your lecture while seeing the demonstration using a split screen.
What's your fav punches in the video mate?
I’m focusing on perfecting the left hook to the body. Being right handed, the left hook punch is awkward to throw. Thank you for all you do for us who are not pros like you!!

Hi, thanks for your videos. You say to be relaxed. However, do you tense your arm when you hit?
Hey Tony! Do you do neck crunches? Thanks for replying
Hey Dude, thanks man I was waiting for this video, however now I am waiting for advanced body punching video. Waiting..............
HI mate i got a lot of videos about Body punches search Tony Jeffries Body Punch
This guy is a golden source of boxing information. I trained according to the Russian system, but nevertheless I subscribe to his every advice. I have very solid boxing knowledge.. my trainer took a wbc fight with his protégé. On yt, most of the boxing advice is bad..they belong among the garbage.. even 99% give stupid advice. Tony is the real deal.💪💪👍
