    • Our Family has an 8wk old pup and I am having trouble training her limitations and boundaries. I have enjoyed viewing the Bully Badass Dogumentaries seeing and learning some of what to expect when she's grown but am having trouble locating anything on the American Bully puppy training itself. I know that if I do it wrong in the beginning I will ruin it for her and us in long run so I'm confused over a lot. There are so many conflicting opinions and/or guarantees of a loyal obedient companion if you use thier methods and none of them concerning the American Bully pups. I want to execute every opportunity I can while the windows of early learning are open to avoid instilling bad habits/behavior into her and us. I understand Bully pups are full of potential as well as an overwhelming determination to rule as the Alpha and they will not give up title easily. At 8 wks of age I see she's not only intelligent but also a force to be recogned with and I have my work cut out for me. I am only seeking advice for what has been successfull with others training thier Bully pups to live a long, happy and healthy life indoors amongst family. I thank anyone and everyone for any help obtaining material on learning to train my lil ball of fire and energy with very sharp teeth!

  • My American bully is the best dog I’ve ever had, and ever known. He has never met anyone who isn’t a friend including animals and children. He is so smart, sweet and gentle, but he’s also incredibly athletic. He’s started to slow down a bit now, but from ages 1 1/2- 6 or 7 he would go everywhere my husband went. He went to work with my husband every day- my husband is the superintendent at a golf course, and “ Augie” is the course mascot. All of the golfers love him, and they even hung up a picture of him in the clubhouse. When he was at “work” every day, he would run the whole golfcourse, 18 holes, more than once every day, and then when he was tired, he’d ride next to my husband in a golf cart. Now he stays home with me and loves to find a sunny spot on the floor to lie in, or to lie literally on top of my legs on the couch. He is happiest when he is touching one of us at all times. He is fantastic around my grandbabies, and when we brought him home we had a couple of cats and 3 small chihuahuas. He has never shown any aggression towards any small animals or other dogs; he even LOVES my thoroughbred horse. If you’re thinking about getting an American bully, I promise you, this will be the best dog you’ve ever had and you’ll never want to live without at least one of this amazing breed.

This poor girl spent a year and a half in a shelter because no one wanted her because of her age (she was 10 at the time) and her breed. We went to just see her, she crawled into out laps and we all knew that she was going to have a forever home. Shes now 14 and by far one of the biggest loves we've ever had.

She’d run up to you like a bullet, slam into you and jump, wiggle, kiss and push into you, unable to contain her glee! I didn’t mind it, but I’m sure not everyone would appreciate it. I’m a big person, and she almost knocked me over a couple of times! So, yeah, training is important.

  • Another fine and informative video. Though I have to say, my favorite part of this was the dog that was sleeping on the couch. He was even snoring. hahahahaha, that was mighty cute. I think that the American bully is one of the most diverse dog breeds there is--if not the most diverse. That diversity could be a positive in many ways, but it could also be a negative. Such a large variety in the breed type has led to some very extremes in the American bully; specifically, the pockets, exotics, and micros. I like this fellow's American bully. He is has a great build and moves very well. I don’t want to offend anyone, but I think that folks should move away from the pocket, exotic, and the micro types. Squat and lower to the ground is not the way to go in my opinion. Instead of incorporating blood from breeds such as the English bulldog and the French bulldog, blood from more functional, and longer-legged breeds would be a more optimal. I don’t have much of a problem with the other side of the extreme like the XL and XXL. For those, many times folks use mastiff blood, and mastiffs, in addition to having that larger and bulkier look most want in their American bullies, are also more functional which would most often lead to a sturdier, more versatile, and more physically-sound dog. I think that folks should be taking advantage of the diversity of the American bully to improve their lines. The American bully is a bulldog breed and I believe that no bulldog breed-even designer breeds-should be completely nonfunctional. With the American Pit bulldog being the usual staple for creating the American bully, breeders should think carefully on what other breeds to incorporate so that you get a dog that not only looks good but moves well.

    @Swell_Character@Swell_Character7 жыл бұрын
    • Static Surge not to mention the importance of health and longevity of the dog. Too many pocket bullies are like English Bulldogs in the respect that they don't make it past five or six years old, and if they do they're often in pain from orthopedic, respiratory, gi, neurological, and immune problems. I grew up with English Bulldogs and I have the say the health problems they suffer from are unacceptable and border on animal cruelty. I'd rather have a working dog that's difficult to train and socialize than a companion dog that'll drop dead at four from respiratory failure or cardiac arrest.

  • Bullies are the best.They are so goofy & loveable.They are such cuddlebugs & kissyfaces. 😍 Yet, they are the most loyal & intelligent dogs out there.Very good for training & home security.They used to be called "Nanny dogs" cuz they were so good at keeping the toddlers safe.

  • I've had a red nose mix for almost 14 years now and he has defended me from home invasion more than twice, since I live alone he's been my support! I also have a terrier chihuahua mix and when I walk my bully people always fear him I always have to tell them is not him you have to worry about is the chihuahua....which is true the mouth on her. He doesn't attack her when he's fed up with her highness, but defends himself enough for her to leave him alone! Both of them grew up together. I couldn't do without both of them, but I always say is not the dog but the owner behind the dog!!!

  • As a dog walker I have gotten bitten a couple of times by tiny dogs, been around 6 pitbulls, I own one myself, I have gotten zero aggressive behavior. Pitbulls are phenomenal, if they're loved and well taken care of it's a dream dog. Plus they're absolutely cute and sweet. I can't resist their face and their silly personality ❤️ #proudpittymom

  • We have lucy, two yr old American bully, short stout, intimidating looking. She's the biggest baby we've owned. I've had boxers,Bassett hound, chihuahua, yorkie, poodle, American Eskimo, husky, few mixed breeds over the years. I think bully is the breed we'll have until we die. Love it thanks for the dogumentary.
