Dropping MASSIVE Baits for JETTY GIANTS

2018 ж. 17 Мау.
30 299 865 Рет қаралды

Its that time of year where the jetty giants known as Goliath Grouper or Jewfish gather up at Sebastian inlet. These are hundreds of these monster fish all around the inlet waiting for a big meal! Its not uncommon to drop down giant baits such as jack crevalle, stingray, moonfish and others to entice a bite from these massive grouper.
It turned out that the wings of a cownose ray were the ticket to catch these massive grouper. Goliath Grouper are a protected species and all were released safely back into the water in the bridge net.

    • @@alexk4714 hey just wanted to educate you real quick, the "Goliath Grouper" used to be called "Jewfish", but not for racist reasons, I'm not sure how someone can take offense to a fish. The reason it was called "Jewfish" is because a journalist went to Jamaica, And in his time there he stumbled across a lot of Jewish people, He spent time with them and he stated that they loved to fish and they loved one particular fish of them all, The "Goliath Grouper" They called it "The grandest fish of them all" because it had both fins and scales. That's where the name "jewfish" came from. Was nothing racist at all. the name given to the fish was out of respect for how much the Jewish people of Jamaica loved this fish.

    • First of all these arnt sharks. Second of all shark fishing isn't illegal, for now it sadly could be soon cause people are to sensitive, and don't understand anything about fishing they see a big shark on the beach with a big circle hook in its mouth and freak the fuck out. plus all these googans that dont know how to properly fish for or release them.

  • I used a 14" hard head cat for bait one time on a 6/0 senator, something took off with it and ran me down to 20 yds from the knot before the hook came out. When I got all the line back in the heavy 18/0 circle hook was bent out a 1/4". Never slowed, never turned, just a straight solid run against full drag. Don't know what it was but had a blast while it lasted.
