Caught a Monster Grouper that Weighed MORE than the BOAT

Max and I left the dock with one fishing mission, catch and release a Goliath Grouper that weighed more than his boat! The total weight of the boat hull is 550lbs, so we needed to find one of the largest Goliath Groupers in all of Florida to break this number. We started the day off fishing for bonito (false albacore). Within minutes, my reel started screaming and fish on! It turned out to be a huge snook! A monster Goliath Grouper tried to eat the snook while I was bringing it in. After releasing the snook, Max and I decided to try and catch the monster Goliath Grouper that tried to eat my snook. I used a live bonito for bait and then all of sudden there he was, the largest Goliath Grouper that I've ever seen! He ate the bait and immediately started towing the boat! We estimated the weight of this Goliath grouper between 600-700lbs.

  • I have more respect for crocs now. Those things have more traction than my winter boots have on ice. I honestly, genuinely keep thinking some of your videos are clickbait, but I keep getting proven wrong. I love channels that don’t clickbait, they’re more real and honest, and you earned a lot of respect for that... and your crocs.... I’ll never get over that lol

There's not a fish in the ocean of this size that's edible, so why harvest them? Lionfish are one of THE best-tasting fish out there. Forget jewfish, harvest lionfish!

    • @@AlexandreBFK they get tired, but they don't really feel pain. Not like mammals anyway. The hook is more annoying and stresses them more then it hurts and it heals quickly

      @arcadeperfectreviews2653@arcadeperfectreviews26535 жыл бұрын
    • @@arcadeperfectreviews2653 How do you know that? Pain is a mechanism, provided by nature, that helps animals to avoid injury and to show the right reaction to ocuring injury. Why shouldnt need fish this mechanism? They show all signs, that they feel pain: they stop eating, they have a higher heart rate and they rub an injured body part on stones when having an injury. Even if they wouldnt feel pain: I have seen fish with old rusty hooks in their mouth. So some survive catch and release, but they are probably suffering a lot. But I have seen a lot of fish, that were catched on the way out with a boat and released as fit. They were found drifting dead on the surface on the way to shore in the evening. Not to speak of fungus that occurs on the touched scales of the fish and that develops days later. Please give me some arguments about your point of view. Or consider to think differently about this subject.

      @scheisstag@scheisstag5 жыл бұрын
    • @jesus allah It is not "well known", that fish feel no pain, at least it is "debated". For sure science agrees in the fact, that fish have a nervous system. How did you came up with this strange argument? Maybe better if you look something up.... Rocks dont have a nervous system. Does this means humans do not have one also? I mean, what is the connection between plants and fish? Today I got a post on facebook: there was a guy and in short he wrote me: "All politicians are corrupt. Police protects politicians. Therefore its totally O.K. for me to attack and injure a random policeman working in the streets. PERIOD!" (He also wrote it SHOUTING, with capital letters.) Coincidance? Or is this PERIOD the typical ending of people with poor arguments, that fear a discussion, and therefore try to end it before it starts? By the way, I worked as a professional longline fisherman in the Sawu sea, if somebody on earth knows how fish react to injury, than its either a fish itself or me.

    • scheisstag as a person who feels little sympathy for any animal, I still think it’s a little hypocritical to say catch and release is ok but not catch and eat.
