i was obsessed with cloverfield as a teenager, i spent ages searching for lore and backstory and couldn’t find anything! i’m so glad there’s more to this universe now! i wasn’t the biggest fan of paradox, but maybe i’ll give it another try after watching this.

One small note that not too many people have mentioned (not a big deal but it ties things strangely between 10CL and Paradox. In the beginning of 10CL, there’s a news report on limited energy and a power crisis, and you see that in full effect in Paradox. Just wanted to point it out
I remember seeing 10 Cloverfield Ln, seeing the end scene and looking immediately at my mom and being like "I SWEAR TO GOD THIS IS ANOTHER CLOVERFIELD MOVIE"

Dude. I had no idea Cloverfield was a series until I saw the ending of Paradox. Just watched 10 Cloverfield Lane and watched this video right after. This is crazy!
It’s not a series. Neither 10 Cloverfield Lane nor Cloverfield Paradox started out as related to Cloverfield. They had their “Cloverfield links” added in at a much later stage. In the case of Cloverfield Paradox, that change was made during production with overdubs and a couple of added scenes.

Protagonist of each movie. Cloverfield - Rob 10 Lane - Michelle Paradox - Ava While Ava in space, aliens attacked Manhattan killed Rob and friends. When Ava come back to Earth, aliens had already conquered it, and while this happens Michelle was kidnapped and saved by Howard.

I like the theory of the clover monster being from the the deep and consumed sea nectar which made it grow in incredible size and was awakened when that satellite fell into the ocean.

The event's of this movie opened a wormhole and let monsters, aliens, etc. to come into 3 different dimensions of Earth. But this 3rd movie seems to be connected to the 1st movie the same Earth, the second movie's aliens looked different. Well but all the years are different so maybe it is all different dimensions.

I remember playing this ARG when Cloverfield came out. The seabed nectar that is harvested for Slusho is actually secreted from the Cloverfield monster and it has the property of making people extremely happy. All of this is explained by an engineer on the drilling rig who writes home to his family about company secrets.

So apparently Cloverfield 4 is now going to be a direct 'true, dedicated sequel' to the very first Cloverfield. That could go two ways. 1. It either retcons 10 Lane and Paradox, discarding the whole Clover-anthology thing. 2. It actually continues on the concept that Paradox did.

Actually, it wouldn't retcon anything. Such as the way things have been set up. Being as... With the last one, tearing holes in not only the present, but also the past, they can literally churn out another twenty without having to retcon anything, at any point, whether it's D-day, The first Christmas, Avalon with King Arthur, or the battle of Thermopylae (Spelling?). So each movie, we as the viewer kind of see things unfold, as it would for those who are experiencing that specific rift, as it's happening.
WOW! You have extremely great detective skills. The "Easter eggs" [as you call them] throughout all three movies would have been totally not seen nor known for their importance in the big picture. Okay that makes SO much more sense. I like the idea of the movies each taking place in their own dimensions, all caused by the accelerator. Which would also explain why the fourth movie will be taking place during WWII. Love it.

I like to imagine that all of J.J. Abrams projects exist within a multiverse and the references to his other shows and movies are alternate versions of those things, so Tagruato and Slusho appearing in Star Trek are simply alternate universe versions of them.

It's just a nice movie and in the universe
The only connection is that the events of cloverfield paradox affected time and space across the multiverse. Displacing monsters and aliens across multiple versions of earth. Possibly affecting technology as well causing certain historical events to change.
I really don't like the fact that all 3 movies took place in a different dimension but your theory makes sense to me.

it didn't need to be an alternate earth. They did something in the future (2028) which sent a monster to the present/past (2008). But then if the past gets destroyed by monsters the future would never happen. Which is what a time paradox is.

I havent watched the movie yet, but maybe just maybe the 2008, 2016 movie are in the same universe and when they turned the particle accelerator on when transported to another universe and when they got it back right it open the ripple effect where the past was changed starting in 2008, caused the creatures from another universe to invade earth 2008 then fast forward to 2028 the earth is all screwed up from the past and since Overlord takes place during WW2 it really started then but the creatures remained dormant until 2008 🤔 one thing about these movies it gives room to many many theories
But it wasn't just a time paradox. It was a spacetime paradox. And yes, the events of one will effect the others. Like this video states, the events of this film is likely the cause for all the other events, including those in the past. Consider this film a prequel inside a temporal-spatial paradox.
infinite multiverses , all at the same time , different outcomes to the smallest of decisions and times. if one clashes with another or is directly linked to another due to time , both will fight to occupy one space in the span of the multiverse where then a multitude of anomalies[weird shit] will happen to there is a balance and the 2 become one. which was explained in the movie. i could give examples but this isnt a forum its youtube comments. just know 2 of the same thing cant occupy one world and they should never come into contact with each other and if u happen to b on the same timeline but in the past or future do not do anything that will have an impact on the timeline, dont even touch a pencil or bring it back with u to the present. Side note, one thing that was missing is the cosmic storm from the collision of universes and bits of the world should have been eating itself

So... this means there'll never be a continuation of any of these movies, as Cloverfield Paradox explained that the experiment affected multiple realities: Make a baby Clover appear in ancient times and sleep so he woke up in 2008 in the first movie, make aliens aware of Earth so they travel there in 2016 in the second one, make several Clovers appear in the 3rd one, and Nazi Zombies that will appear in WW2 during the 4th one (if they dont change the summary). This also means that ANY of Abrams' movies could be conected, not only Cloverfield movies.

Saiyan0X - Right, according to the Tommy Westphall theory, there are many films or tv shows that are connected. A song played by Driveshaft, Charlie's band in Lost, appears in an episode of Alias. Credit Dauphine, a fictional bank from Alias, appeared in Eli Stone. In "Donut Run", an episode of Veronica Mars, Veronica's fortune cookie message has the numbers that won Hurley the lottery (and turned up in several other strange places) in Lost. From this path it seems to stop, but check out tommywestphall.wikia.com or look up the Tommy Westphall map. In any case, J.J. Abrams loves his own easter eggs.

There was no mystery in the third movie. They revealed the entire plot in the first few minutes with an audio of some commenter warning about "the Cloverfield Paradox" and "monsters" due to the experiments they were doing with the particle accelerator on the space station. That is HORRIBLE writing, even though it was added to the movie in post-production.
The object that fell into the ocean is not a satellite, it is the escape pod of the astronauts from the SHEPARD space station.
That’s what I was thinking. When they went back to EARTH they didn’t come back in 2028 but 2008. The rip in the space time continuum caused the CLOVERFIELD monster to be unleashed
they came back in 2028 becaause they communicated with the ground personal of the station and her boyfriend/husband got informed about her return

People enjoy it when films make more questions than answers when watching but after it finishes 50% of the audience will hate not having all the answers. Its a paradox.
I enjoyed the fist two movies. They were fun and entertaining. (The first movie could have been done without the "found footage" aspect, in my opinion, though. It still would have worked.) The third movie was poorly made. It was choppy and gave away the entire plot in the first few minutes. The scenes were poorly tied together. The acting was bad. The directing was bad. Those elements make for bad movies. As far as the two first movies being tied together: why? They made for a great anthology series and didn't need to be tied together.
After watching Paradox I thought that the object falling from the sky at 5:08 was Hamilton and Schmidt's evacuation capsule.

Yeah but the thing was that the Cloverfield monster appeared only a few seconds after they fell through the clouds. In the original movie the footage was taken before the appearance of the monster.

Many people just seem to disregard them because “ew timespace paradox how cliché and unnecessarily intelligent I don’t want to think about a film after the credits roll”. Levi Everaerts what answers are in the film. as far as im concerned the whole things just a mess, the only reason they brought this whole multiverse crap into the franchise is so that when stupid stuff happens i.e when that guys arm is still alive after being apparently eaten by a metal wall and then telling them that the gyro was in that guys stomach. all the multiverse is for is when someone asks a question and the answer will always be oh well there in a different universe with different laws of physics so thats that.its literally done that way so none of the movies have to make sense for example the next film apparently with nazis in it REALLLLLLY!!
@@ryan420dakin3 The arm moved through space-time. It’s how the Cloverfield monster got to earth, and it’s how the alien attack happened in 10 Cloverfield Lane. Holes in timespace caused by the events of The Cloverfield Paradox triggered events across space-time, 2 of which include those seen in the previous two films. I know doing research is hard and time-consuming and I feel for anyone burdened with the torturous task of doing research in order to understand something, seriously, life is hard, it sucks and I get it...but not understanding this is entirely your own fault.

I think the problem that some people had with this movie is they didn’t understand why all the weird stuff was happening to the crew. That was the universe trying to fix the paradox by killing the people that weren’t supposed to be there.

This connections videos just made me love cloverfield even more, i love the mystery and Easter egg hunts of the Movie franchise. There all new and different, way different back stories, and can be quite confusing. But hey I love a good puzzle! I think you made really good analysis on this and how it's connected, nice video!

This video puts a lot of "critics" to shame. People that were just unable to think critically and put everything together. The movie itself was entertaining and understanding how it fits together in its universe makes it even more fascinating.

The movie wasnt really a good movie tho. Ive been a huge fan and loved what they did with the series with this new movie but the way the movie was made was pretty bad and made it feel like a bad summer blockbuster.

I'm not sure if this is right but, I think Slusho has the cloverfield monsters blood in it, and the parasites were made to hunt the cloverfield creature and being a parasote, drink it's blood. So, people drinking Slusho would have the monster's blood in them, thus causing the parasites to attack them
But the parasites were shown to come directly from clover in the first film that wouldn't make sense

@@LogicbyDesign ever hunt or fish and catch/kill something only to find it has hitchhiker parasites on it? Same with flies on cows/horses.. If they're not too immediately detrimental to the host (aka fish, deer, cows, horses etc) it tends to dismiss the parasite considering they'll keep coming back and simply removing them is a massive energy dump and futile.
Bruh have you seen alien movies where they just put their facehuggers on the people to make eggs? The parasites you see that left the mark on that women gave her eggs

I thought 10 Cloverfield Lane was the second Cloverfield movie but no it was different. Unless aliens linked to the monster came when it was awakened. And Manhattan got destroyed by the monster before 10 Cloverfield Lane happened.

Jack McKenna They could've been referring to the small parasite things that come off of the main Monster. If this one is fully grown and taller than the clouds, those Parasites would be massive.
That's true but why was that monster so large? I'm thinking there were always more monsters in the original cloverfield. My theory is that Cloverfield and this movie are happening at the same time and based on the same earth. I think cloverfield must be set in the future now as well and they pulled a tokyo drift on us.
XFlamingAshesX no what this kid said makes more sense tho.. the Shepard blast affected many different earths in different dimensions. If you remember the radio talk when they blasted to the other side of the sun there was a war going on. I think 1 2 and the 3rd movie and possibly the 4th when it comes out are happening at the same time but in different timelines and dimensions if that makes sense. The accelerator ripples time at the same time, you know?
Jack McKenna I’m thinking that 2008 monster woke up from the sea, 2028 a huge ass one and maybe more woke up from the sea in different areas. The ocean is massive. It’s easy for that huge one to fit in the ocean no problem.

It was never actually a cloverfield movie, it was just a rumor the media ran with and JJ liked it so he didn't say anything. There is actually a sequel to Cloverfield that's currently in the works, so don't give up hope yet
