Attending the First-Ever Dallas, TX NARBC! It was Bonkers!

Previously the Arlington NARBC, the now Dallas NARBC was an incredible show! We met tons of fans, adopted so many rescues, learned about some stunning crested gecko morphs (you get to see what a sable+lilly white+cappuccino morph looks like!), and more!

    @firefoxkari@firefoxkari12 күн бұрын
    • Event organizers have the space mapped out beforehand and vendors are assigned specific locations depending on what size booth they rent. So it's actually Snake Discovery that chose a booth this large, not the organizers giving them extra space

    • @@nogames8982 Looking at the vendors map for this show on the NRBC site, they weren't isolated in a room by themselves. They were at the end (or front) of a long line of vendors that ran along the outer edge of the space. It just looked like they were alone because they weren't in the middle of other booths. This is pretty standard with vendors that rent the largest booths

  • The fact they put you in another room entirely to everyone else, but in the first room people come into, kinda says both how popular you are, and also how tired people gotta be of the shennanigans of the huge groups of people you bring to the place xD

    • It's actually the vendors themselves for the most part that determine their location in the event space as it's based on the size booth they rent. Most shows have the largest booths on the outer areas to keep foot traffic flowing

    • @@Cara-39 I can’t decide if I’m offended that they put them in a room completely by themselves or not. I understand the logistics of it but it’s also kind of rude.

  • I got so emotional seeing the diamond painting of OmNom. What a special piece to have. And can I just say WOW when it comes to the depth of artistic talent amongst your fans. I also want to shout out all the folks who let their mom vibes show when they bring you coffee, sandwiches, coolers packed with snacks… you name it. I see it at every show and it really warms my heart to see folks wanting to take care of you guys… y’all really do so much for the community and clearly help a lot of young folks feel seen and accepted. I know little girls who no longer think they’re weird for wanting a reptile over a pet dog because Emily is cool and so they must be cool by association. Emily’s exuberant reaction with every egg hatching and showing off just how adorable snakes can be went such a long way to helping me move past a fear I didn’t want but didn’t know how to get past. Now I look forward to someday meeting a hog nose in person and getting to hold a ball python. I don’t think I’ll ever own reptiles (its the feeding bugs or mice that gets me) but I love that it’s an interest of many of my friends that I no longer have to feel squeamish about. So yeah. Big thanks to those who go out of their way to take care of Emily and Ed when they’re on the road and giving so much of themselves to the community that adores them.

But admittedly it's prob more that that would feel less... Idk organic? Ik SD have an editor and employees and a Phil to help out, but I do like that they try to keep involved and have that personal touch. That said, it would get prob a bigger view of the show and more vendors, plus give Em and Ed a look in case they missed anything lol. Logistically tho, idk how long the vid would be at that point

I got my first two Crested geckos at the NARBC show in Tinley and even showed ED and thanked him. I thanked you at Schaumburg and talked to your stepdad and mom, St. Lewis, and Back two more times at Tinley. Now, a year and a half later, I have 45 crested geckos, 1 chewy, and two Leachies, 5 baby dalmatians, and 12 eggs in the cooker, with my first pair of stacked gene Axanthics to be hatched in July. It's like my reptile world has come full circle with your new crested geckos. I cannot thank you enough for the joy my new adventure in the reptile world has brought to my life. thank you. P.S. • You guys... I got so emotional watching the video for no real reason, but you're so amazing! I've been watching you for years and years, and i truly love how you're always the exact same kind and marvellous people you were when i first discovered you! Unfortunately, since I live in Italy, I don't think I'll ever be able to come to meet you guys in person that easily, but I still hope for it to happen someday and at least I can watch your channel and the amazing content you share! Hope you get a fun trip and that Ed doesn't tire up too much driving all over the country, Emily keep him good company. 😂

  • Rip omnomlette you melted our hearts even though you ate your children, you were the best and funniest hognose snake,it was so fun watching you and your children (before you ate them) it was so fun telling you not to eat your children and now we have no one to tell that they can’t eat their children, we will deeply miss you in our hearts and we send prayers to you, now nothing will ever be the same again without you, just know you will never be forgotten, it is so hard without you.❤💔❤️‍🩹☹️😔😥😭😞😕🙁😣😩😫

  • OK they are learning. Emily and Ed's meet and greets are so popular to avoid congestion they get their own room. Huge room because you're so loved by so many. Everyone wants to meet you both. A room is better than clogging up the vendor floor. I love that and find it funny in equal measures.

  • Ah, the Omnomlette diamond painting was so sweet, I miss that little pain in the tail 🥲 It was so cool to see the shot of the Axolotls! I wish you guys would have covered them, but I know y'all have a very busy time at the shows haha. Have you ever thought about getting into working with Axolotls? They are a beautiful and fascinating species, and the research done on them does a lot of good in the biomedical fields, plus they're great pets that I'm sure a lot of your audience would have an interest in. If your able to do so now that you have a curator, I would highly recommend it!
