"It's not a ban, it's a temporary pause" of second amendment rights is one of many embarrassing things New Mexico's Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham said while defending her unconstitutional ban on second amendment rights in New Mexico While appearing on "CNN This Morning."

There are some surprisingly stupid supposedly "educated" people out there with law and medical degrees etc. Going through school that far does not mean a person is all that smart unfortunately!
There is some truth to what the OP said. There are way too many law school graduates in government. Bill and Hillary are poster children for attorneys turned politicians. Putting people who know how to sidestep the law into high government offices is never a good idea. As we are witnessing in the year 2023...the outcome is never good.

Gun control has nothing to do with criminals--if it did, they would pass laws that target criminals. Instead, they target lawful gun owners--we are the target.

What about 3 weeks? *How about we ban everyone's 5th ammendment rights against self-incrimination for just ONE HOUR, OR ONE MINUTE* So that anyone who didn't report themselves for breaking the law during that 1 hour or 1 minute would be subject to arrest because they didn't incriminate themselves when they had the chance?

If an 18 year old can be enlisting in the military, they should be allowed to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. The 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed. Period.
Forget that. A 16 year old or a 14 year old should be allowed their 2nd Amendment rights. The 2A does not say the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed except if one is a convicted felon or unless one is under a certain age. This minimum age to purchase a gun is actually a fairly recent development in American history.

On some quiet nights here in central Missouri I can hear the distinct ratatatatata of AKs. And I’ve seen plenty of VFGs on PSA pistol review pictures lol. ATF appropriates local police and SWAT to prosecute but damn near half of the states are 2A sanctuaries and the number is growing. It is incredible how many times a plea deal includes dropping of weapons charges. They will readily throw an otherwise law-abiding gun owner into a long prison sentence, but throw the charges out for the criminals who actually do use their guns in commiting crimes.
That's the thing with a lot of these politicians, they have no answers. The problem starts with people, but they reject God and have no solid moral standing so they can't speak to anything without exposing their hypocrisy and emptiness. I live in NM and there are so many of us who have tried to stand up and make things happen during covd and for other things, but the problem is that it's all the smaller counties who want her gone and stand up against her, but the big cities like Albuquerque and Santa Fe, where it's heavily populated, are full of people who think like her and people who blindly follow like sheep and don't question anything. It's kind of like Illinois, all the small counties are conservative but the Chicago area is super liberal and thats where the bulk of the population is. I don't care if people are more liberal or conservative, but we should all agree that it's wrong to try to take away our constitutional rights. Whether you are for gun control or not, it's our constitutional right. A lot of the people in Abq are well meaning and they see all the violence that goes on in the city and I get why they want something to change BUT what they don't see is that criminals dont care if they make laws saying they cant smoke meth, cant steal, cant use guns etc, THEY WILL DO IT ANYWAYS. What is the legal basis (criminal code) that she's broken that would be the basis for an arrest? If what you're saying was true, then every legislator who ever voted to pass a law that was later struck down in court would need to be arrested. That's not how the government works. There are remedial actions available. Both taking the issue to court and impeachment. That's how the problem is dealt with.

This is a case where she should not only be removed from office, but should face the criminal charges for this gross violation of the law. Just calling it a pause instead of a ban temporary or not, does not change what the act is. This is honestly a very scary step towards tyranny and should not be tolerated.
