Steve Rinella talks with Brody Henderson, Spencer Neuharth, Chester Floyd, Max Barta, Austin “Chilly” Chleborad, Phil Taylor, and Corinne Schneider.
Topics include: Why we need a crafty mirror expert; how Chester budgets for jigging wraps in the family expenses; wielding the priest, aka Brody’s little beating stick; rearing Atlantic Salmon in little fish raceways; a hot tip on fulfilling your college credits; when Steve got a bad grade in woodshop class; The Wildlife Society as a great and free resource for wildlife research and news; the irony of folks not actually wanting wild pigs to disappear; a grammatical correction and explanation of past participles from our very own Dr. of English, Jordan Sillars; what exactly happens during a shallow water blackout; the story behind a very old pistol with a weird trigger; our upcoming Campfire Stories #3 about the shit you found; the extinct sea creature that’s a buffalo calling stone; testicles the size of a cashew; an antler velvet-lined bra for the wife; and more.

The “NO ONE CARES THAT YOU SKI AT BRIDGER BOWL” sticker is killing me 😂😂
Fuuuck, thank you for translating it. Spent the better half of this episode squinting trying to understand it hahaha
I’m only in the comments to find out what that sticker said
Thank you. I spent the majority of this episode convinced I was having a stroke.
I love that Spencer always counters Steve, so much fun. Makes the trivia so much more entertaining
Usually the best thing to happen Monday.
U ain't kidding!
I work nights and between meat eater, trivia, bear grease, and this country life I look forward to my drive home Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.
I love that we can finally put a face to all the voices 🙌
Except for Brody's! Suck it Brody.
It is kinda weird
Gotta say, not what I was expecting on a lot of them.
@@jbvincent47 right. Like phill the engineer. I was caught off guard with that one.
I like the idea of the velvet lined bra.😊
i'll buy the campfire stories now, i just need the rest of the bear hunt story!
Awesome to finally get the video version Great work Phil Give Phil a raise
Need this to come out a couple hours earlier so I can watch before work here in Texas! 🙌
I'm really glad you guys started filming these
Steve and his fellow meat eaters make my Mondays manageable.
Same
We brewed in college, my roommates and I. I went back to Maine for Christmas Break to crew on Lobster Boats. Our. landlord called to tell us: "Your beer exploded. You'll need to forfeit your deposit this year for rug replacement."🤣🤣🤣
22:59 my buddy did this. First time i hung out in his apartment he was roasting a whole deer leg. Been hunting buddys since then lol almost 14 years hunting deer opener near his house in the burgh. We call them muppears that come up here to hunt nwpa, i flipped it and go dahn deer hunting first day now hunting off boats on the Youghiogheny. Man it's a blast !! All slug hunting but we clean up
I simply love these video’d shows.. thanks Phil.👍👍🇨🇦
That pistol looks like a Smith & Wesson Model 1+1⁄2 was Smith & Wesson's second .32 caliber revolver, intended to combine the small size and convenience of the .22 caliber Model 1 with the larger caliber of the 6-shot "belt sized" Model 2, which was introduced in 1861. Chambered in .32 Rimfire, its cylinder held 5 shots. It was produced in three varieties from 1865 through 1892, with total production exceeding 223,000. Seen one for sale for 960 Euro.
I love the video podcast! It's like being able to hang out with all you folks! I love watching you all interact together, like a bunch of friends hanging out. Also super impressed with all the tech work done by Phil!
What does Steve's mug say/mean? I'm racking my brain trying to read it and I'm about to give myself an aneurysm
Hey Steve, Add a monitor to the back side of Phil's setup, facing you guys, or even on the wall next to him with his camera on it. No mirrors required and he could show you guys videos or whatever when needed. Recently started listening to yours and Cal's podcasts to get me through the work week, and started hunting white tails out in MD with a bow thanks in large part to your show!
If I'm not mistaken, the Chaffee zoo in Fresno had a brown bear on display from 1976 till after I started working there in 2008; definitely beats that record, again, if I'm not mistaken. I am sure that originally it was a pair and they were named Betsy and Ross lol!!
I thought the hippy wearing the headband sounded familiar, turns out we were in the same unit in Okinawa from 2014-2016. Glad to see he's doing well lol
Respect! From alberta canada! Love you guys!
I've always called a fish-baton the 'Dispatcher'
That looks like a 32 No.2 Old Army Smith and Wesson...
Steve was really swinging The Persuader around with authority.
Someone please explain to me what in the fuck the words on Steve's cup means because I have been trying to figure it out for 45 mins
Haha I was thinking the same thing! Its missing letters. I still have no clue what it says but the last line is "Bridger Bowl", which is a ski area
"NO ONE CARES THAT YOU SKI BRIDGER BOWL"
I feel for Steve for his wooden mallet. My woods class we had to pay for all the materials we used unless it came from the scrap pile. I made a bonsai table from scrap walnut but got charged for the materials and got a C cause it was to easy. My teenage self decided that if that was to easy then I would do the hardest thing I could think of.... which was a complete from scratch wooden frame at scale of a P-51 mustang. I spent most of class fixing small breaks in the frame from other students messing with it and never fulling completed it but got an A for it.
Man I’m so happy this is video recorded now. It makes all the difference. I mean just look at all that cool stuff on today’s show and tell.
Great episode. Really like the video podcast. Great Job Phil!
Steve only stops talking to take a breath then asks chilly if a cats got his tongue 😂😂
hit us with timestamp on that one fella!

Steves plan on how to do college is exactly what I did too. Don’t worry about SAT or ACT go to tech and transfer haha
So NOW I listen to the podcasts getting ready for work, and then WATCH the whole show again in the evening, but it’s still so different! 🙂 This is crazy. LOVE the show.
38:58 Texan here, I don’t know a single landowner who would say no if offered the magic wand of hog eradication.
“Gear Ratio” is what you’re lookin’ for, Chester the Divestor 😂😂
1:58 @Phil just put another monitor on the back of yours facing Steve with your camera angle on it.
For those who can't see the baculite, Spencer found... just picture a wood version of Johhny Sins pocket lover.
6:12 Where i'm fron in NY we call them off switches.
Only the second podcast I have watched on KZhead and I have to tell you that Spenser doesn't look near as much like a dork as I imagined just listening to his voice. Not sure why, but that was what I had in my head.
Had to stop the podcast when they kept doing visual gags. Knew I better wait for the video. So glad you started this!
Love it! Im buying 1 million dollars worth of first lite in honor of video podcast
Love the video!!
Should try a teardrop shaped glide bait for lings. Use them on wire line in apostle islands in winter for lake trout. Normally 1-3 oz in 100-250 ft. Has bait holders on it also for cut smelt or herring. Could get a photo but not sure I can in comments.
Phil needs to pop onto that monitor behind Chester when Steve wants to see him. Lol
We need an episode of Steve going back to fish Sault Ste. Marie with his brother and doing show on the Atlantic salmon.
These are fun!
Steve can tell a story...one of my favorite people to listen to
I’m using amnesia right now, watching while carp fishing in the UK.
This episode is what forced me to come watch on KZhead: I had to know what the heck we were talkin' about, when it came to the fossil.
Smith and Wesson No. 2 single action revolver. Bout all I know about it. And it's 110% worth taking to an antique firearms specialist! I recommend Mark Novak, who is Anvil Gunsmithing on KZhead. He's based in Charleston SC and is a gunsmith and works primarily with antique firearms
Note: Mark Novak is not necessarily an expert with the historical knowledge, but is rather a professional gunsmith and does a lot of conservation work with old guns to keep them in good condition for the long term
Now that's a big jackalope righthur.
I've made rice wine so many times, you don't even need special equipment. That stuff is dangerously easy to drink lol
I've been listening to the podcasts while washing the dishes or working and sort of imagined faces to the voices, so weird to see how everyone looks like in real life!
The Linders have been extolling the virtues of the jigging rap for so long that I expect everyone to have 10 in their box, so funny that people are still discovering this lure
it's much easier installing a flatscreen on the back of Phil's monitors that livestreams his face on camera.
This is kinda trippy
The one positive about making homebrew in college is that if you mess up and maybe forget to wash the soap out, You still have plenty of people that will drink it so you can start over. Don't ask me how I know.
Just your luck, I know a old ammunition reloading guy that mounts red dots to mid nineteenth century pistols that's also an expert on them. His hobby and passion is mirrors and prisms though.
They do make 32 long I use it however rim fire is little harder to find
The cactus buck chat was really interesting but I have a theory. Especially in Steves' example of the introduced Sitka deer wouldn't it be probable that they might have more genetic problems being a small herd with no new genes coming in and possibly interbreeding with close relatives, same for a small isolated herd on the mainland? Fantastic episode and youtube is the only way I consume the content now.
Lipless crank baits were MONEY this season for us in NWPA.
Good morning everyone from Syracuse NY safety first always everyone never approach big game head first always approach big game from the rear end ( tail) of the big game
This is now how my brain pictured Phil, hes supposed to have a dark beard and glasses.
What does steves cup mean?
No one cares that you skied Bridger Bowl
i don't have a phd in anything but i was screaming at my phone "IT'S STREWN" during the original episode
Y’all are about two hours away from being my new favorite Monday morning routine. I live in Texas where these episodes don’t air until 8 am when my work day has already started. If it’s possible, could y’all dial back the release time a couple hours earlier?
The podcast on Apple comes out at like 5 am
Chester is The Man!
The ole bombshelter 😅
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.
The Juris Doctor degree-or J.D. for short-is a graduate degree awarded by law schools in the United States. A Juris Doctor is technically a Doctor of Jurisprudence just as an MD is a Doctor of Medicine or a PhD is a Doctor of Philosophy.
And many people don't understand that a Doctor of Philosophy doesn't mean you have a Philosophy degree. Example, someone with a PhD in Neuroscience means you're a Neuroscientist, not a Philosophy expert.
Steve’s attitude in regard to pig variability wears me out. “They’re all the same thing!!!”, well technically me and Francis Ngannou are the same thing, but if a pack of Francis Ngannou’s rolls into your village you’re gonna feel a whole lot differently than if a pack of me rolls in lolol. I get what he’s saying but I don’t think he’s fully thought it through.
What did Chester find ? I remember a long time ago Steve mentioning something about it
I wonder if Steve has ever fished hesperia dam
I'm sure @ForgottenWeapons can help you with the old gun
An atmosphere is a given pressure. 14. Something psi or 1 bar.
What does steves cup say. I truly cant figure it out.
Smart people know how to transfer that much intentionally.
Just put Phil's face on a giant screen hovering above everybody like Zordon from the power rangers.
Annoying thing about the canadian Hogs is that they have a bounty on them. But not allowed to night hunt so cant get close to them
Johnny jigs deep drop jigs
WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG BEFORE PUTTING THIS ON UTUBE? BEST THING EVER HAPPENED TO UTUBE THANK YOU😊
Why does it look like Steve's got scoped on his left eye
I wanted to take my son down south to hunt pigs thinking it would be cheap.....Called a few places...They want at least $5000 for 4 days to hunt pigs.....They are not interested in getting rid of pigs......
Get the pistol looked at by Mark Novak. Do a collaboration.
Canadian super geese take down all
Man I love fishing but never knew how boring it is listening to people talking about it 😂
22 mag north american revolver
When are you guys gonna buy Mtn ops? 🤔
Here in Missouri the Conservation Department says people release hogs here... But I've YET to see 1 person charged for releasing feral hogs! So where's the proof??? There is NONE. How can someone say that it's being done but have ZERO examples???? Tell me please. #Propaganda
my son has a 401
What the he'll is 10/16. The planet I live on that would be 5/8.
113 forget you
10/16? Did they mean 5/8?
Name the bra line "the velvet rack"...
Hi would love to hunt with u im southafrican and please hunt in africa
I'm disappointed that Chester produced a jig, rather than a rap about jigging, given his oft referenced musical prowess.
Poor Phil. He takes a lot of abuse from these fellas.
10/16? Why not 5/8
Four hundred thirty seventh.
Wild hogs are trash, it would be different if they were wild meat hogs, but people thought it would be cool to turn Russian influenced hogs loose, they have cool tusk but the meat is not desirable at all
Circus mirrors!!
