Steve Rinella talks with Brody Henderson, Spencer Neuharth, Chester Floyd, Max Barta, Austin “Chilly” Chleborad, Phil Taylor, and Corinne Schneider.
Topics include: Why we need a crafty mirror expert; how Chester budgets for jigging wraps in the family expenses; wielding the priest, aka Brody’s little beating stick; rearing Atlantic Salmon in little fish raceways; a hot tip on fulfilling your college credits; when Steve got a bad grade in woodshop class; The Wildlife Society as a great and free resource for wildlife research and news; the irony of folks not actually wanting wild pigs to disappear; a grammatical correction and explanation of past participles from our very own Dr. of English, Jordan Sillars; what exactly happens during a shallow water blackout; the story behind a very old pistol with a weird trigger; our upcoming Campfire Stories #3 about the shit you found; the extinct sea creature that’s a buffalo calling stone; testicles the size of a cashew; an antler velvet-lined bra for the wife; and more.

  • That pistol looks like a Smith & Wesson Model 1+1⁄2 was Smith & Wesson's second .32 caliber revolver, intended to combine the small size and convenience of the .22 caliber Model 1 with the larger caliber of the 6-shot "belt sized" Model 2, which was introduced in 1861. Chambered in .32 Rimfire, its cylinder held 5 shots. It was produced in three varieties from 1865 through 1892, with total production exceeding 223,000. Seen one for sale for 960 Euro.

No mirrors required and he could show you guys videos or whatever when needed. Recently started listening to yours and Cal's podcasts to get me through the work week, and started hunting white tails out in MD with a bow thanks in large part to your show!

  • I feel for Steve for his wooden mallet. My woods class we had to pay for all the materials we used unless it came from the scrap pile. I made a bonsai table from scrap walnut but got charged for the materials and got a C cause it was to easy. My teenage self decided that if that was to easy then I would do the hardest thing I could think of.... which was a complete from scratch wooden frame at scale of a P-51 mustang. I spent most of class fixing small breaks in the frame from other students messing with it and never fulling completed it but got an A for it.

  • Smith and Wesson No. 2 single action revolver. Bout all I know about it. And it's 110% worth taking to an antique firearms specialist! I recommend Mark Novak, who is Anvil Gunsmithing on KZhead. He's based in Charleston SC and is a gunsmith and works primarily with antique firearms

    @CaptainCock99@CaptainCock9910 ай бұрын

  • The cactus buck chat was really interesting but I have a theory. Especially in Steves' example of the introduced Sitka deer wouldn't it be probable that they might have more genetic problems being a small herd with no new genes coming in and possibly interbreeding with close relatives, same for a small isolated herd on the mainland? Fantastic episode and youtube is the only way I consume the content now.

    @JCTaylor21@JCTaylor2110 ай бұрын
    • And many people don't understand that a Doctor of Philosophy doesn't mean you have a Philosophy degree. Example, someone with a PhD in Neuroscience means you're a Neuroscientist, not a Philosophy expert.
