I love the statement "Just say what's on your mind, just shut up you'll be fine." Which is such opposing ideas. Say what you're thinking but never reveal your true pain, just feed the masses with what they want because the only thing that matters is fame. It's a rough world for content creators.
I do animation so luckily I don't have to worry about it, but man I see what people are going through and how there being effected. It's tough
What I like about it more though is that, it depends on how you interpret it, this isn't just relevant to content creation, I don't know about others, but I've been struggling all my life about how to talk about my feelings, I've been bottling them up for so long that it wouldn't feel right to burden someone with them, and I've used a lot of things to escape from having to deal with them, yt shorts included.
I think the world is hard for everyone rn. I agree that people need to be more easy on content creators though, because people truly do just expect the best from them as if they aren't just people. I'm glad creators are starting to feel more comfortable sharing how they feel, that's how it always should've been
@@OldDumbTeenCommentAccount Some influencers completely save people's lives by giving them hope, information they failed to learn while growing up, or just giving them a break from being in that kind of stressful life you're describing by providing entertainment just like shows, movies, and games do for some. Some people aren't talented enough or strong enough to do such dangerous work, it takes skill, bravery, and conviction, and not every human has that, that's just life and you're naive to think that everyone needs to sacrifice themselves in order to deserve love and support. It's not easy to be a content creator, just as it's not easy to do the work you're describing. Many creators have died from the abuse they suffer online, god forbid they didn't die "protecting their country". They don't get paid as much as you think unless they're extremely popular, even Derivakat with her views probably isn't getting as much as you think, try checking how YTers get paid and you'll see it's rough. You seem to be one of those people who think everyone has to contribute to society physically, but the very fact you have a Google/YT account means you engage in the internet. Who do you think makes that? Gives you a place to just relax and ignore the world for a bit, make you smile or laugh from funny videos. I'm not sure what your problem is, but your response is just very sad and disappointing because you clearly don't know much about what being a content creator means. Along with that you don't know what being a fireman or soldier is too. Creators not all stuck-up or full of themselves, and they're definitely not celebrities. A lot of them are just painfully human with the same wants as you or any other person. A lot of them just want to share their creativity with the world, it's not even about making money, and yet others will find a reason to insult them and send them death threats. Don't insult them or me, as a soldier myself I think you are disgusting for disregarding other's pain and having such a narrow mindset, along with trying to use my colleagues to push your agenda.

I don't think this song is meant to be a vent. Maybe a little bit, but I think this song is just to simply expose human greed and how we can't have enough. It's just contextualized into this digital era where reaching greatness is as easy as turning on a camera, but once you get there, keeping your place is the hard bit. The thing that feeds the vicious Cycle of greed and harmful vanity.
I'm all good! Just had these feelings come up every now and then for myself personally, and also wanted to write commentary on this issue I see plagueing a lot of people in my generation as well

I feel like the part where she's stabbing someone with a quill is very symbolic of how everyone who fights online about stupid things is a real person with feelings behind the screen. Both characters are shown startled/scared, and I interpret that as them realising they are needlessly hurting each other. When she does stab them with the quill, it reminds me of how writing your words hurts other people in ways you might not understand. The colours seem like an allegory for how distracted and overstimulated you can get while scrolling, or on the Internet altogether. Overall, I think the animations really added to the music!

as usual, absolutely obsessed!! this song is both a huge vibe and it carries a very necessary message for current western society. the lyrics are so eloquent, succinct, and relatable. the sickening media addiction (and the consequential issues that plague the social media industries and culture) that has enveloped our generation is everyone's problem, yet everyone's too keyed up on dopamine to spare a second and talk about it. thanks kat and netrum for another wonderful masterpiece!!

(My theory so dont target me) But Something I had noticed is how the color red seems to break everything it touches, like anger. And the color blue is sad. While the color green seems to be her consciousness. It seems like anger is what holds her in place while the blue seems to be fighting for a way out. At the end of the song when red and blue are both fighting, I’m pretty sure red ends up dying. Now I’m not too sure what this means but maybe shes free? Or she will start speaking out more. Im not sure, but very interesting song and id love to study it more since its just one of those songs. But other than that amazing job and also amazing job for shining light on this subject. Everything you said about being stuck in a cycle and trapped in a loop is all very true in the KZhead community. Sad but true.

It’s been 4 months and I finally checked out this song, HOLY CRAP MAN. The emphasis in the second verse, the whole bridge and the way the song builds… this is so cool!
I love the lyric, “let the cycle run you over and over and over again,” because you think you’re about to hear ‘let the cycle run its course’ but instead you get this pretty violent image that shows the mental toll the digital world is taking on all of us.
This did not disappoint at all you were able to take an emotion and perfectly articulate it. I love it ❤

loving the way the format of this song is like an algorithm-pleasing video being mimicked in and of itself - a catchy opening followed by a brief break, like an intro; following up is a series of equally catchy stanzas with a toned down bridge that almost comes across as a montage (within this black spiral / ...) and ending with a high-energy note in the music and high-stakes scene in the art.

I haven't left a real comment on a YT video in what must be years, but the changeup from the DSMP era is fantastic. I loved your music then, it was absolutely wonderful. But this is just something else. I'm actually blown away by this and Tool, they're really up my alley for music taste. Also, the 'Archive' thing seems AWESOME. I was expecting each song to have a different archive for a different kind of emotion or something like that, instead Cycle/Tool/Smile all have the same Archive of Anger. It's so neat. It's just, so, I don't know, special? Unique? You're able to write your songs about Anger in, so far, three different ways and I FEEL IT IN ALL OF THEM. Absolutely amazing work. Artists slowly lose their own identity and passion towards what they love because of numbers that don't even say everything about humanity as a whole. Everything is Gluttony, always wanting more without any chance to stop. We can't stop the cycle globally, unfortunately.
