Quackity is one of those antagonists you can’t help but root for. He’s such an interesting and fun character, not really a villain, but definitely not a hero. This is the most amazing Quackity song I’ve ever heard. Another amazing one, CG5!!!

I was not expecting this at all but as CG5 did with his other character songs, I think CG5 really puts more time then we realize into not just understanding the characters, but their motives and expectation. It’s beautiful and it’s a musical talent you don’t see everyday. Absolutely outstanding

This song perfectly shows the rise and fall of Quackity as a character in the DSMP. The flow of the animation, all the hidden details like the ending shot, if you pause, you see the word “legacy”. Or describing the tragic downfall of Simleicle when he and Quackity were betrayed by Purpled. I swear I could hear Slimcile’s last line of talking about how it was nice to be shown what it was like to be human… and that maybe he almost was. Quackity may be a anti hero more than a villain but damnit he has a villain song that will be on my playlist on loop now! Thank you Charlie!

@@CommunistDogSupremacy I could see this in a movie too. I know another music artist who goes by Eve. He makes Japanese music that is so cool and they all tell a story. Also there is another one called Thai McGrath, there are so many good music artists out there.
I am obsessed with the part at 01:05. The slow transition from a bitter, almost melancholic tune to a sinister, all encompassing crescendo gives me so much joy. The slight vocal echo and the chorus of voices give this scene a large impression, like standing in an auditorium or an empty stage, and the sound of sax slowly descending to low notes makes me think of Quackity's slow descendance into his corrupted drive for power, for lack of a better description. And the way the lyrics were delivered, that evil laugh and the gleeful "Ooh yeah!" just ties everything up sooo nicely! And the visuals! Gosh, don't get me started on that one. I can see gow much thought went into this song, how much care went into the portrayal of Quackity the character and his story. I'm just- blown away;

I think one thing a lot of people overlook with this song thats so cool is how much you actually sound like Quackity when you're shouting in rage. Like obviously it's more musical than his screams, but it really sounds quite similar to him

As someone who has watched barely any streams, mostly just stuff from KZhead, I interpreted the trident as devil horns. Now that you say that, I can see that it's a crown, but I think both make sense thematically (you're definitely closer though, the song is called "Lonely King" after all)

1:30 7 months later and this is still my favorite part in the song. Tommy in Quackity’s hand. The song reached this part which gives goosebumps every time I listen to it with all the echo effect and all that. The music just reached this amazing point which sounds just so good. 🥲🥲🥹

This is genuinely one of the BEST DSMP songs I’ve heard. Like with Derivakat’s REVIVED, the use of more than just singing really throws you for a loop and lets it feel more dramatic like a musical. It’s so cool to hear the yelling in this because of that and it makes me want to just sit here for hours rewatching the whole thing again and again to pick it apart. Great job to CG5 and DICE Shimi!! You guys did a fantastic job on this one!! :)

This was amazing, managing to put a whole arc into a 3 minute song, I even got emotional at the end, the animation style is great as well, smooth, sleek, with all these references packed in. I feel like this song sums up his rise to becoming a king perfectly, and a nice send off to DSMP songs, definitely worth the wait, thanks for this.

THERES SO MUCH DETAILS AND REFERENCES, THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE HYPE AND THE WAIT You can see in 0:25 for a brief moment that the card flashes to a reversed scene with the heart card crossed out and the quackity smile on top, which could mean that quackity is heartbroken and doesn’t rely on emotions anymore And in 0:32 the trident was positioned to look like a crown in the silhouette, a throwback to the title “lonely king” referring to quackity, which has thrown away all his friends and loved ones, therefore the “lonely king” In 0:34, the machine showed three sevens, which means luck but the other columns showed two engagement rings, which signifies the relationship of karlnapity, as the other, shears, signifies his “visits” in prison In 0:39, you can see that some cards were coloured as different characters, with the top, C!Tommy and C!slime, being the ones quackity viewed as most important and the ones below them members of Las Nevadas From 0:50-0:54, shows the two countries c!quackity longed to be but cannot. L’manburg and Kinoko Kingdom. From 0:58-1:01, shows the character arcs quackity had and the person he hated most at that moment, in order being: Election arc, C!Jschlatt Butcher arc, C!Technoblade Divorce arc: C!Karl Jacobs Las Nevadas arc, C!Wilbur In 1:03, “I’ll fake the smile they’ve seen before” the smile referring to c!dream’s smile, which is shown in the background, “fake the smile” meaning that he’ll turn to the ways of tyranny and aim to “the path of glory” 1:13 HAS SO MUCH REFERENCES I CAN ONLY TELL THE ONES I UNDERSTAND- in each shard was a different scene. Those are only some I could tell In 1:33, quackity has c!Tommy in his hand, meaning literally, he has c!Tommy in the palm of his hands and in which gained a new ally. As shown in 1:39, a new card, c!Tommy has been added to his collection. The scene from 1:45-1:47 shows that c!quackity was rejected from C!Wilbur’s country in the beginning, then him later rejecting c!wilbur from his country, Las Nevadas later on. With C!Quackity being the one left in the dust replaced with C!Wilbur. With the references: “you’ve been kicked into the sand, I’ve built something better than what you could ever dream of on your own” referring to that c!quackity built Las Nevadas in the desert, which then he kicked c!Wilbur out of. Las Nevadas, being one of the successful and stable countries at the time, wasn’t faced with any obstacles or blown up, like L’manburg did, therefore the ‘I’ve built something than what you could ever dream of on your own”. From 0:52-2:01, shows the crew of Las Nevadas, with the portrait of c!purpled slowly falling off showing his betrayal and hatred towards c!quackity revealed, as c!quackity was the one who blew up his ufo in attempt of manipulating him. That he remembered and vowed for revenge. which then later resulted in the death of c!slime as seen later from 2:02-2:42 From the silhouette in 2:48, c!Quackity is shown holding three cards, which may be reference as to him losing two of his crew, c!purpled and c!slime. From 3:02 to 3:03, c!quackity is positioned like how a king is in a deck of poker cards. Another reference to the title: “Lonely King” The lyrics: “the role of the king is a lonely one to play, but cards in the ring has been dealt in the wrong way.” Means that c!quackity wasn’t always like this. Powerhungry, manipulative and apathetic. But he had seen too much going on in the field. Resulting him to step in. I think that’s all I could interpret! such a beautiful piece.

I will be honest, I wasn’t that excited for the quackity song as all of you crazies were at first. But as always, you blew it out of the park, Charlie, madude. The song as a whole is astounding, so cinematic, and the melodie’s are just, *chef’s kiss* top notch. Vocals, legit, seriously. I feel like you outdid yourself more than you have on any other song so far. I could feel the emotion in your voice, and it gave me chills. And also huuuge props to the animator, the finished product is so good, and i wish i could draw like that lol. This long awaited masterpiece turned out perfect, and we’re all satisfied. even if someone isn’t, they’re satisfied and they just don’t know it. ♥♥♥

this is literally the best animatic that I ever seen, the combination of the music, the lyrics with the drawings behind, the way Quackity is represented as a king (owner of Las Nevadas) and his fall to madness after so much suffering on the way to his "glory" ITS THE BEST ART!
as someone who has no clue what the dream smp lore is all about, you've driven me to become more interested about it. ever since you first announced about this song, i've been anticipating for it despite not knowing anything about what it's about. i've been playing this on loop for HOURS now, i've become obsessed with it. this was definitely worth the wait, and it'd take a hell of a long time for me to get over humming this tune. you're doing gods work releasing music you've worked so hard for. you're a one of a kind content creator and i love that. edit: props to the animator & everyone involved in this project as well! really captured the emotions of this song in a whole new level

How is no-one talking about the lyrics? They are so well written and they fit perfectly... also I love the reference towards the cards throughout the song its really nice and also fits his character. I like thee switching from the high and lower vocals in the "The role of a king is a lonely one to play." I love songs that have a bit of a loopy vocal range..
