Adult film actress Stormy Daniels, a central figure in the criminal case against Donald Trump, is set to return to the stand Thursday following her testimony Tuesday in the New York hush money trial. CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig, CNN legal analyst Norman Eisen, former federal prosecutor Jeffrey Toobin, and New York criminal defense attorney Arthur Aidala join CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Abby Phillip, and Anderson Cooper to discuss. #CNN #News

  • so she just went from being a "star witness" to "her testimony isn't that important..." in a matter of mere minutes? how odd.

    • Kinda like the woman who testified against Kavanaugh who was the dems star witness until it was obvious she was lying her ass off. Funny how often "witness" against Trump have been proven to be absolute liars. In at least one case they said Trump molested a woman and the woman herself came foreword and said stop using my name, he did no such thing. In another case the woman's mother said she was with her in another state when this reportedly happened.

BUT, once Trump's side started misstating details then naturally she would want to air her side of it if only to clarify and tell the truth as she sees it. Which would then become which side do you believe more? That of a self admitted porn star defending herself against allegations of impropriety or of businessman who has spent the last 50 years grifting and short paying at every opportunity every person or entity to whom he has owed money? Let's not forget Trump's dressing down of his comptroller [as testified by the comptroller himself in court] because he sought to pay someone in full when the bill was presented but, instead, Trump insisted that in every case he should first offer to short pay or even refuse to pay based on 'shoddy workmanship'. Since this case is being brought by a different office that is willing to try the hard case it seems that he feels obligated to poke at them for doing what his old office didn't have the gumption to do. The feds should have brought a case for campaign finance violations, but they stayed at home and looked for some little cases to go after to keep their conviction rate high.

The Southern District of New York and the Federal Election Commission both decided there was no crime here to try and by-passed it. Even Alvin Bragg wasn't going to bother with this nothing case. It was an ADA by the name of Pomerantz who pushed Bragg to bring charges well after the statute of limitations had run out, by the way. Your last line, "That's gonna go over big with women" explains it all as to why this case was brought by the Manhattan DA Office. Two weeks in and they still haven't explained what crime was committed. Oh and by the way, the Defense wanted to call the former ADA Pomerantz as a witness, but that biased judge denied their request.

Ans now the judge and prosecutor are afraid of the appeal and the ruling getting overturned if they somehow get a conviction.

    • @@ktbn22 no, I meant that everyone else on the panel had the same opinion. I recently watched an interview with him on the David Packman Show and he argued some things like Trump supporters argue: "why were the charges brought up so late etc?" As he, as a former prosecuter doesn't know the answer to it. My thoughts while watching him asking this question: 1) There were thorough investigations before even considering to indict a former president. You better have a very solid case to do so, otherwise you'll get humiliated (like James Comer) 2) Merrick Garland was too hesistent to allow that to happen, probably because of the reason mentioned in 1) 3) The classified document case happened after his presidency, so nothing could have been charged earlier anyways. There was a forth and back with NARA to hand over the documents. If he just complied nothing ever would have happened. But he insisted keeping them as personal records. The raid on Mar-a-Lago was in August 2022 while he announced to run again in November 2022, 3 month later knowing he is in big trouble this time Imagine they'd went on and indicted him for Jan 6th and the other stuff directly after his presidency, as Trump said they should have done. The outcry would have been even bigger saying they wouldn't have investigated thoroughly enough... So I wonder why Ellie Honig even asked that question on the David Packman Show at all when he knows the answer to it...?
