To kick off my KZhead channel I called my friends at Wichita, Kansas Fire Department and set up a couple ride alongs. The first was a 24-hour shift with Rescue Company 1 on the southeast side of the city. We responded to more calls than I could include in this video, which gives you a behind the scenes look at life inside the WFD.
You can tell Isaac is not camera shy and has practiced to do a walk around on his truck because he flies right through it and doesn't stutter as some firefighters do when doing walk arounds. Isaac also has amazing energy and an encouraging smile especially with that sweet moustache.
I agree 100%
That's a man that's been on the job a long time and knows his shyt front to back 🫡
Being on a specialty truck for so long I’m sure he’s done plenty of tours on it 😂

Not a firefighter but as an outsider, I have to say, this rig is badass! Super clean and organized!
I never seen a rescue truck that big before. And the hallway thing in the back is unique
A proper RESCUE, 2 man cab, walk through body 👍
Couldn't agree more!
Firefighters and EMTs are this world’s living angels. Nothing but respect and admiration. My cousin is a firefighter here in Texas. Subscribed!
That "public relations" move by allowing the birthday party to climb aboard Rescue was priceless...a "win, win for everyone."
that guy you were talking about in the bulldozer was my uncle! thanks for the great work you did to get him out! you guys are awesome and amazing! thanks for your time and service to help my uncle!
Sorry for your loss
sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss
My condolences to you and your family 😢 🙏
Isacc is top notch in knowledge and just overall personality. We've hosted him a bunch of times for his Vehicle Extrication classes from here in Central PA. Great video.
He's a top shelf firefighter, no doubt. Thanks for watching!
@@WorkingFirePIO loved that PIO vlog for june
Awesome!! Come to Ohio!!!
@eriksantor9125 where ya at in PA? Central PA guy here as well

I love seeing the grins and excitement from kids getting to go in a truck. It makes their day!
As part of the Citizen Fire Academy, I did a 10 hour ride out with a different station and got to see just how dedicated and amazing these men and women are. So much respect for all of our first responders out there keeping us safe!
What’s a citizen fire academy what cities have them
@@wadeopaczewski8795no idea but you can do ride along on almost any department regardless.
We are all gathered here to see the size of this W. Great to see you on KZhead now Eric, great first video!
Much appreciated!
thats my house at 16:30! Determined that lightning DID strike the house TWICE! Surge blew up a light switch, lots of our electronics were fried and some hosing for our natural gas got spiderwebbed by the strike. No fires but house smelled very much like something was burning and good thing we found the gas line very quickly to replace. They were so awesome and thorough! Appreciate our WFD! TOP NOTCH!
Eric fantastic work. I can't wait to see what's to come! Take care.
After living there for ten years. It’s good to see that they are able to keep up with the tools and equipment that they need to do their jobs safely. Gods Speed and Blessings to you guys.
Thank you for your service in the fire service really appreciate it sir.
Love seeing these trucks! So cool to see how everything works and what variety of tools each department needs based on their locale! Be careful out there, you guys!
one of the best ride along and tour i've ever seen. Thank you!
I love watching firefighters go be the best part of a bad situation and people like you I admire for taking the time to be there for the video and experience for us. Thank you
Great video! As a former Sedgwick County 911 dispatcher, I appreciate all of it. I loved working "fire board" more than any other. I was there when we transitioned from the klaxon-style horn to the electronic style alert system.
Best of the best love you guys God bless thank you for your services
That Rescue 1 is rather impressive. Very well laid out and has given me many good ideas. Nice channel!
Thank You Sir for Explaining to Everyone what is on the Fire Truck. This is GREAT!
Thank you so very much for your service as a Firefighter and Rescue. Your hard work and dedication is outstanding. May God always keep you safe and healthy where ever you go
So grateful for EMS and Firefighters as well as the Soldiers you guys are so underrated thank you for yor services risking yalls life for ours 🙏🏽
That intro is amazing! Also, this rescue has one of, if not the best setup that I have ever seen!
OMG! Currently doing ride-alongs with WFD and this is so awesome! Loved this video!
A wealth of knowledge. I love to chat with people like this on the various fds. I don't know nothing on this job until I've had a few conversations with people like this!!!
Fantastic work! I’m looking forward to seeing your next videos!
Eric this video was top notch. I absolutely love this style of content of all day ride alongs. Keep up the great work, nice to see you on your own channel!
Much appreciated, thank you!
Love the video can’t wait to see more of your amazing work
So cool to see these videos for other departments!
These guys have better water rescue equipment than Escambia County, Florida.
That is a really big engine. You sound very smart with your job Thank you for all you do GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Isaac is the man! knows his stuff, and his classes are awesome! Can't recommend him enough! And its not just work, he makes it fun!
God bless our first responders.
Thank you for doing this eric
24:27 I'm glad you mentioned this, the entire time during the Rescue 1 tour it seemed like it was just background chatter from dispatch. Guess it shows just how valuable the First-In system in for SMFR and the quality of life improvements it brings.
Congratulations Eric great start to what will be an awesome channel.
Nice work Eric from Jacksonville FL Great job work in Wichita
Amazing equipment and sooo compact!
What an awesome and outstanding department and video scenes of it as well, I would have never thought of this much action from Wichita I expected to see a video like this from New York City or Chicago LA Houston or some other major city but now much respect to Wichita which will be on my list of departments to watch on the tube that truly is major urban city and fire department , Also great looking trucks and staff units as well.. Thanks for sharing this.. Tony j. from Indiana 🙌🏼👍👏🏼🔥🚨🚒
Appreciate you using up your free time to shoot great videos! 👍👍
As someone who can grow a mustache that is complimented by A TON of people, let me say, that mustache is perfect. 10/10 don't have to know anything else other than you're are truly the greatest FF of all time
And everyone thinks Kansas is just flat out farm fields lol. Thanks Again Eric is for this experience 😊🙏🇺🇸
These guys saved my ASS and MY VISION back in September. I love ALL of YOU. 🇺🇸🙏❤️🍻
Never knew how much equipment a firetruck holds, impressive
Really neat eric thanks for this awesome video buddy
Rescue apparatus is my favorite man. Such capabilities
Very impressive. Your County is well protected.
Really enjoyed this as Wichita was where I started my service career. Born and raised in Wichita. A great department.
Stunning!!!
Great to see... In The Netherlands seems to be more "machines" customised to their job. Many stations with an own speciality. Not strange with so many fire-stations in a smaller area. Loved to see this truck, keep up doing the great job ! Love it 🙂
Alot of Dutch firefighters come over the US to fight fire with us for cross-training reasons. I know of one who's been with Detroit Fire Department going on a decade and has ridden with Squad and Engine Co's. He's caught many jobs in that time.
Excellent video! A good balance of efficient but thorough tour of the rescue, coupled with plenty of ride along footage.
Thank you!
Hell yeah can’t wait to watch this channel grow. Keep it up!
Thank you!
Amazing video! I just loved the content! Can’t wait to see more from you outside of south metro!
Much appreciated, thanks!
Great quality video!! Well done!!
Cheers for this awesome post .I finally got an excellent result will this lovely method when I tried it.I am enjoying it now
Absolutely LOVED the views of you waking up to the nightly alarms. That’s what I must look like, too. Greetings from a German volunteer firefighter! 🤙🏼
On top of an excellent training business - he also has one Excellent Mo! lol - Good work on the video Eric - can't wait to see more
Great vlog. That Dept 🚒 really has things together
Man that bunk room is rough... waking everyone up no matter the call? Seems insane until you realize how much thought and effort SMFR puts into quality of life improvements that other departments... apparently just don't.
Not every department has the funding for such things. South Metro is extremely fortunate to have the ability to build elaborate stations and keep top of the line equipment
@@JollyGreenGiant94 As a taxpayer in SMFR's district, I'd never question the mill rate or vote against an increase on it (unlike some of the other rather mismanaged public agencies that want more money to waste every ballot). Hell they probably realize that is a benefit of what Eric does for them. Showing the public the value in the department beyond the obvious. Seriously it makes you proud driving by the stations and seeing the investment in the community. Giving them the funding they need just makes sense when you see how well they operate.
I was thinking the exact same. SMFR is well funded and has good stations, built for 48 hour shifts. Nothing wrong with a rough and ready station though, old school.
@@some0ne8 Thank you for sharing your perspective on this! From a firefighter health and wellness perspective, sleep is vital to mental and physical optimization. SMFR is fortunate to have community members like you who support the organization and the people who serve.

Excellent video very interesting 👍
enjoyed it and looking forward to more
Great video, congratulations on your new channel, I will be following your exploits!👍🏽🇺🇸

Fantastic Work Eric! can't wait to see more of your video's!
Thank you!
This is fantastic Eric. Looking forward to the rest of your videos!!
Thank you, more to come!
Loved the vlog
wow this is amazing
Look at that lip coat man, I trust him to absolutely demolish a fire
Legend has it that fires self extinguish in fear when they see it.
That was a Nice thing to do for the kids to go on the Rescue #1
Dude that is awesome. Glad the algorithm brought you by! Looking forward to more man !!
Thanks!
Absolutely mind blowing how much gear and equipment that truck carries.
Great looking trailer!! Nicely done!
Awesome video thanks for post it
Great job Eric taking the show on the road.
Excellent channel!!!
Specially like that fire truck rescue with the black wheels 🛞 and the black and red colour on it with the yellow stripes 🥰🥰🥰
Eric this is awesome! Keep these up please.
Thank you!
Great work Eric! Love the content. Best pio around.
Thank you so much!
Good video ! On the job in Maine. Nothing beats starting your shift with hydrant shoveling ! It’s great!
I visited Maine in the Fall a few years ago and can imagine some very harsh winter conditions there!
That, is a moustache that commands respect. I tip my hat to you sir! 😃
Awesome video its better than TV stay safe
More of this , this could be the start of an epic series , this could really start something here eric! 🔥
Thanks! 🤘
Nice one Eric!👍
Thanks for introducing the fire station! I love the view on fire station. It looks better than our country.
Super interesting for me as a becoming volunteer firefighter from Germany, many things and equipment are familiar but here we have different vehicles for divers, heavy duty rescue and firefighting. Also our trucks are smaller but in the US everything is bigger, even the rescue 1 guy is a unit. Stay safe guys. Great stuff and awesome video.
Thanks for sharing!
@@WorkingFirePIO no problem, we are all brothers in fire hoses! xD
Great video
Good luck with your channel Eric. Regards from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
The happy look on the little boy when he got out of the rescue was awsome
Ü⁰😂🎉🎉🎉
Awesome show!!
That is a glorious mustache
Lovin that Lazy Susan!! That's badass!! Great idea!!
Awesome video man
The rescue is top notch, and I’ve seen a few in my years. Not having met the firefighter, he definitely seems top shelf. I’m filing “nick nacky” as an official technical term…love it.
Had no idea you had your own channel. This is awesome and I subscribed the minute I saw this video was suggested!
Thank you so much!
Good looking rigs.
Amazing first video brother. Nice to see you going to a department I actually know someone on other than your own lmfao. Keep it up buddy, can’t wait for the next video.
Quite the rig, I'm excited for SMFR Tiller in the future
Just found you man Love the content logged in to make sure I subscribed
