  • I'm kiter myself, not the pro one but still have many years of experience on it and it's always nice to review this training videos. Thanks, very useful. Already recommended it to a guy who will start. And the first recommendation is always: besides watching this training material go do the training with a certified instructor. Still, good reminder for all class of people. Thanks for sharing.

  • My first flight on a training kite was without instruction. I did not search out any info on how to fly a two line kite. Hey, “it’s just a kite” right? So I tried to launch my kite with the kite on the sand, bottom down and the leading edge into the wind. This will give a lot more time on the beach wondering why your kite will not fly. Even with someone to help holding the kite as it was on the ground of course does not work. One tip that I got from a passer by is that turning a trainer kite by just pulling one line works but isn’t the best. If you also push the other end of the bar forward as you pull one back, the kite will turn faster. This mimics the action you will use with a kiteboarding full size kite. I found that the kite was much more agile, responsive and maneuverable using this method.

  • I love that you mentioned that kiters shouldn’t steer the bar like a steering wheel. So on a full sized kite when I do a water start, I should only pull in or push out the bar, is that correct? There should not be any rotating or steering motion?

  • Great video!! Really helpful video for kite beginners like me. One question, why is recommended to desattach the lines from the kite when you fold it? I personally prefer to leave them attached so next time its easier/faster to start

    @miguelr7135@miguelr7135 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Miguel, once you have some experience it is easier to leave the lines on. However at first it's very important that students learn a full set up & inspection (including checking bridles and running lines). Otherwise students will skip these important skills.

    • Hello Antonio, doing lots of hours on a trainer kite before lessons will help a lot. You will get more out of lessons and develop much quicker if you're an experienced trainer kite flier. However, if you're already riding around and have finished lessons, then it won't make much difference.
