As a Bloke from the NT, I can apprecieate thermalling with some Wedge Tailed Eagles. Just as I got to do recently out of Stonefield during a contest. Thank you.

I'm ex NT as well, certainly plenty of Wedgies up here. (Currently in Alice helping Dad) There's also a rumour that the club class nats may be in Wakierie in Jan 2025. (if so, it's likely I'll attend)

@04:25, He (Looked like the Male) was doing a "Pull Up" It's intentional behavior. A warning so to speak. I spent many years studying them just out of self interest after a very difficult period of time in life. Wedge Tailed Eagles have a massive area they call home. Something like 80 Square Miles in US terms. Anway. Shut me Yap & enjoy the rest. Cheers.

Yeah, maybe but I dont think he'd seen me and took evasive actions. It was a fair bit closer than the camera shows and I think I might have had a moment myself.

@@gonegliding2966 Ahh yep ha ha. Nearly hit one driving back to Alice from Tennant Creek at well over 200, It flew out of the trees at window height & just pulled up in time but one of it's legs dropped & left a claw mark accross the whole roof. That happened just north of Ti Tree. Had to pull over there for a half hour to calm down ha ha. Got my attention for sure.
