I can't think of a more unreliable, unreasonable car than this and yet I'm thinking about buying one :D

the cost of fixing the entire car to new + the car itself is still lower than a new m2
I dont have the M6..but I love my 645...beautiful cars especially when they're detailed..had mine for 9years 190k...still going strong....
The reliability can be deterred from how well maintained it was. Always check service history, If there have been no records of rod bearings getting done, the first thing to do would be to replace the bearings. I negotiated with the dealer that I would purchase the M6 providing the rod bearings get replaced as part of the package. Some dealers will be good and agree to this, others not so much... It took me, 2 dealers when I was purchasing mine.

If I were to get one to avoid future headaches I would swap the transmission for a traditional manual transmission rather than the SMG it has currently.

@@thezig2078 My friend had a E36 325i coupe with an aftermarket exhaust back in the day and I gotta say, it does sound nice but nothing like a V10

@@thezig2078 The sound of an engine depends on the cylinder count, firing order, the type of crankshaft etc. etc., a straight-six will never sound like a V10 even if you fried it in butter. Inline 5-cylinder engines like the one in the Audi TT-RS have a similar tone, though!
