  • There are very few athletes who demand your attention to watch them as much as Usain. He is singlehandedly why I watched these olympics. And he is the classiest athlete I've ever watched. Kind and friendly to staff. Stopped an interview to pause for the National Anthem. He was even friendly to the guy on the Segway that ran him over and nearly broke his leg!

  • I'm happy for having witnessed this, I didn't think somebody could explode these records, it looked easily when we watched him run but I know how hard it must be, to train everyday, to always keep that winning will even after getting all titles that anyone could have dreamt of. I think it will be really really hard to beat his records now, but we'll see :). It's funny to see his name is Bolt cause it always fitted him perfectly.

    @Nhilzer@Nhilzer2 жыл бұрын
  • There used to be a sprinting video game that would sometimes allow you to get 9.6. When Bolt broke the record at the 2008 Olympics with a 9.69, the commentator said, “we are now in the era of video game times.” His 9.58 was faster than video game times.

    • Yohan Blake ran really close to it once with an awe full reaction time. If he had a normal reaction time he would have the record. Noah Lyles is pretty young and is creeping close to it. Michael Norman based on his best 100, 200, and 400 times I say would have a shot of putting together a 200 in that ballpark. Same with Wayde van Niekerk who has a 100 and 400 (and 300) faster than Michael Johnson. Seems reasonable that he could put together a 200 record.

      @tomedwards5910@tomedwards59103 жыл бұрын
    • @@tomedwards5910 everything you said there makes perfect sense to me except for Van Niekerk...to me his Real strength comes in superb speed endurance rather than raw speed... i think the 200m WR needs both.....

      @geronnemar-fan9461@geronnemar-fan94613 жыл бұрын
    • @Geronne Mar-Fan. By their splits in the 400 and their best 100 it seems like Michael Johnson is more in the speed endurance verse raw speed than van Nikerk. That and Johnson never looked tired after a race and van Nikerk has been carried out on a stretcher before. In fact that might be why Johnson is able to have phenomenal success in both events whereas van Nikerk doesn’t have enough freshness to run a gold 200 after a gold 400 even with a day break. A caveat to Johnson’s slower 100 is that he ran that when his PB in the 200 was upper 19. That was the last time he ran it. So the year he got the 200 record it was probably faster.
