  • Every generation feels this about their time growing up, so it's likely nostalgia plays a large role in this belief, but everything felt so much more simple in the early 2000's. Social media didn't have a crippling influence on social culture, people were usually a bit more down to Earth and friendly. Everyone could take a joke. Social gatherings were more the norm. People seemed a bit more friendly then too. Maybe it's because I was born in '98, but I feel like we've lost something important within the past few years. Especially when COVID became a thing. We can never bring back the days we had growing up, but we can try to make the present and future better. Maybe even as good as those days!

Rewinding tapes, parts of the video looking a little off, specials that were recorded years prior. Scooby Doo Where are You with "bonus features", the original TMNT and the live action movies, Big Blue House, that one Barney Christmas Special we would watch year round. Now you can't find any TV that plays them anymore. Not cheap one, anyway. We still have a bunch of tapes but can't do anything with them. It's kinda sad, knowing I'll probably never get to watch those movies again. They're right there, the movies and TV shows I loved, but I can't do anything with them, so they just get more and more dusty. Sorry for the long comment, just feeling a little nostalgic. We really did live in the end of VHS but beggining of DVD era.

I think I was either 5 or 6 back then, didn't realise the concept of looking after your possessions, to ensure they work as long as possible, back then. Since then I've collected hundreds of DVD's, I think I might be rivaling or surpassed with my Dad, on my collection. I think the last box set he bought was all seven movies of the Harry Potter collection. For as long as I can, I'll always choose disc over streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video to purchase TV Shows & Movies. So long as you look after your Discs, they'll be around longer than streaming services.
