the last tip was the most useful xD just today i had to kill the entire goblin camp just because my mc (after you get arrested by the absolute priestes) jump down in the hole in the goblin prision to loot the ogre (i break the floor and let him fall to the pit, but get greedy after and tried to loot xD), the only way back was killing the guards in front of the gate to open it, and of course it causes a lot of truble for me XD, but somehow i could kill the entire goblin camp (warlok with dark vision and dark cloud is broken btw) conclusion, i had 2 hours of fun just escaping 1 dungeon, this game is awsome !!!
Try not to long rest while physically close to a time sensitive quest (someone needs saving, house on fire, etc) as you may come back to find the house burnt down or the person dead. You're fine to save if you are a distance away (beyond any autosave point, to be sure).
Besides the barbarian that has the crown that gets you to 19 😢
So I accidentally started a fight at the respite and wanted the sparking staff. Everyone is dead any idea if I can still get one or is it gone forever?

You can kill the 3 ogres and you get a crown that increases intelligence to 17. I am the smartest Barbarian now lol.
No one on my team uses intelligence, but that crown could be useful for intelligence checks. If I know one is coming I could equip it to pass it easier. Thanks for the tip!
I let those ogres kill The goblin bandits and they died in the process so i took the crown lol
Oohhhh, so that is why that one ogre is so smart. Well, relatively smart.
I made friends with them and got a magic horn to summon them in my time of need…
It's fantastic on a solo run. Dump stat int and then use the crown. Helps with int checks. You can also use them to help you fight the spider boss below the village.
Tip with Shadowheart, her Disguise self spell alters her height letting her go into small holes like where the Tiefling pickpocket runs off to in the Druid Grove. Just disguise as a Gnome and you can walk right in

My advice is let volo (the bard you may or may not save in the goblin camp near the top of the map) operate on you, it's such an obviously bad idea but he replaces your lost eye with a magical artefact that let's you see invisible enemies.
After the operation you have two different eyes. Hated it during my playthrough. It made my appearance not as I wanted.

In Act 1, just past the Druid Grove there's an easily missed way to climb the hill that you've circled around. At the top is an amulet that gives you the ability to cast Guidance.
You can find a map locator and some other decent loot for that amulet under a rock on the beach. It's in a tiny cave just below and to the right of where you first meet Astarion. You'll need a high-strength character to move the rock.
Tip: Use Backpacks! backpacks are loot containers you will find around the game, you can right click on them and take them. They make for an extremely way to handle organization in your inventory. For example I keep a backpack on Kalrach that holds everything that I will sell to the next vendor I see, one on my custom character specifically for holding spellscrolls. and one on asterion to hold quest items or items that I want to look into a bit more later. TIP: When looting orange bordered items (which I think are quest items) from inventories, that will sometimes start a cutscene to perform a check to better understand the item. High int characters seem to be the best choice for these checks as far as I have made it into the game. Tip: you can switch the measurements from imperial to metric or vice versa in the settings. Tip: You can zoom in and out of the minimap with your scrollwheel. tip: shooting a potion with an arrow that is next to someone will break it giving them they benefit of the potion. (you can group your characters around a buff potions to break it with an attack and apply the effect to all 4 party members) tip: Dont be afraid to use gold on a respec/resurrection at withers. the barter screen lets you trade the value of items for the value of items. rather than just buying things with gold. the game will throw SO MANY weapons, clothing, and armor at you that can easy cover the cost of most items you would want. tip: if you are the tieving type, you can engage in a conversation with someone standing next to a chest you want to.... "check the contents of"... then use the button on the bottom left of the screen to switch characters, leaving your first on in the conversation (which changes the npc's cone of vision) allowing you to get at that tasty loot. gods, I could go on, but these were huge for me. along with turning off that setting that prevents a streak of low rolls... 11 failed attempts in a row on a 10 DC locked chest?... I also found after turning this setting off the enemies seemed to crit a WHOLE lot less.
I lost the necro book and the quest on my journal is still active 😢😅

There's a green 2h sword while you're still on the ship in Hell. Instead of activating the console kill the demon the mindflayer is fighting and he'll drop it. Or if you released Shadowheart swap one of her spells for Command. Cast Command (around 55% chance of success) on him and tell him to drop what he's carrying. You can just walk over and pick it up once it's on the ground.
Karlach is perfect for that sword once you get an upgrade for it, being the fiery barb of death lol
Shadowheart's "Command" is 100% the way to go about it!
@@TheMorrogoth The command spell is great even later - I used it to stun a spectater ambush in underdark (spectater with a group of petrified and mind controlled drow) for the couple of rounds I needed to kill it. It is a bit worse than hold person (only one round), but it works on more enemies and has more options.

@@jankodes197 You can fight another spectator if you take the cargo from the Zhentarim agents that are defending it from the gnolls to the north of the map. There's a flask inside that chest that holds one inside lol
Loot all the skeletons before you talk to whithers so when they spawn they dont have weapons to attack you with.
I did this on instinct. Lol. I was like "...these guys are going to wake up. I better take their stuff."
Even better idea: Loot all of their weapons and then pile all of the skeleton's bodies together in a corner and light them on fire right before starting the fight so they take a lot of fire damage and are grouped up for AOE attacks. It makes the fight easy af. 😎 I love how much you can cheese BG3 by thinking outside the box, Larian is the best. 💖
You can also force a favorable fight with them by attempting to pick them up after situating everyone where you want them which will start combat

a tip on sending stuff to camp from your inventory (on pc): you can click on an item and hold shift on another item to select all items between your clicks, as well as hold ctrl to click on multiple items to select them, and then right click and send to camp. way faster than right clicking every one. idk if other platforms can do that.

This also works with adding to wares. As soon as you reach a merchant, turn off the barter option to swap it to trade, then hit the sell all from wares. MUCH faster and less micro management. Highly recommend if you play with a controller

There is a tooltip in your inventory, top right where the filter and search bar are, that lists your keystrokes for multi-select and splitting a stack.
I think it's important to note in these videos that shadowheart can be found in two different places. I have never found her in front of the door because I always save her in the ship. Normally she'll be on the beach when you wake up.

How is this important to note? If you save her she’s literally impossible to miss… if you don’t save her she is still pretty hard to miss.
If you don't pick up Shadowheart at the beach or in front of the door she will appear one final time at the druid grove.
Quick inventory tip: holding ctrl while you left click items in your inventory will highlight each item you click. You can then send all highlighted items to camp, or add to wares, or put them in a bag, whatever you want. Also, if you similarly hold the shift key and left click, it will highlight the item you click and every item above it. Really useful shortcuts

Scratch is a pretty amazing pet to summon. Get him near an enemy and you have advantage when attacking it. He has the ability to give aid. That means getting an unconcious player back up, or removing a harmful effect like burning, or webbed.
Does he have HP and can be targeted by enemies or no? Not gonna bring him into a fight and potentially lose him if that's the case
@@davidcrawford5324 He does and he can be killed/unsummoned like other pets but in that case you can resummon him out of combat, or you will find him playing at camp.

@@chincrimson3970 No he's fine. You can't resummon while your still in combat but as soon as it's over you can. If you don't resummon for any reason you will see him back at camp.

For selling items in bulk: You can infinitely overload your character at the camp chest by moving all items you want to sell in one drag&drop action. You won't be able to move, but when exiting the camp, you arrive exactly where you were before---e.g. standing right next to a merchant.
Shadowheart if you have her on your team before the crash actually is pass out really close to you instead of over there.
Try and pickpocket a particular item from her while she's passed out and you'll get another cutscene.
And if you somehow go to camp before talk to her unconscious after the crash, you will meet her again in druid groove
Managed to not get lae'zelntill the bridge scene later in the act she just ran up I was sure she had died somewhere but guess not
If you want to get karlach asap without going through part of the goblin camp, you can go a bit north of scratch the dog and use the jump spell (probably with lae’zel since she gets it free) and go talk to her.
i havent tried it yet but that sounds like a lot of effort for a bonus on making gatorade. i cant imagine having to respec back every time i want to take them out on a side quest. is it super duper worth it or just for min maxers?
You can get across without using potions or spells even with small characters who have lesser jump distances
@@_holy__ghost if you’re using alchemy it’s a big bonus. Good chance of doubling whatever you’re crafting as long as you give them high wisdom and medicine. If you’re a potion hoarder it won’t do much good but I’ve found it useful.

@@_holy__ghost you can and should multiclass it with rogue to get medicine expertise.
The boots of aid and comfort from the goblin vendor are some of the best boots in the entire game. They’re cheap and you can get them at level 3 and they will be best in slot for your healer pretty much until the very end of the game. +3 temp hit points on heal. It’s HUGE! Turns a healing word from a 1st level slot cast at cleric level 4 into: 1D4+4(wisdom mod)+3(temp hit points)+3(life domain) This also let’s a THROWN potion heal each person for an extra 3 temp hit points which out of combat will be an extra 9 health for your party. It works on mass healing word. Mass cure wounds. The life cleric channel divinity big AOE heal. It’s one of the most impactful things you’ll get in all of act 1.

Just picked them up and haven’t really gotten to try them yet so I’m glad to hear this!
For inventory management, for the love of god, do not send all your items to camp as is. Pick up crates, trunks and chests, and put your crap in those, then when youre getting up there in weight, send the crates to camp. When you pull the crates out, you can sell them as is, or go through and ctrl+click the items and then add those to wares, which will put them all into your inventory as wares. Then in trading menu you can toggle from barter to trade and sell wares. No more cluttered mess! And boxes are literally spilling out of the walls everywhere!
You can have nearly infinite storage. There is a chest on the balcony of the arcane tower in act 1 that transforms every item you put into it temporarily. The item then weighs only 0.05. Please put this in a future video.

@unixtreme I think he's talking about the Chest of Mundane which has a spell on it that when you look inside it has nothing good until you bring an antimagic bulb near it and get the actual loot

You can get Shadowheart on the ship by opening up her pod with the pad you find in a room north of her pod if you do this she will be on the beach where you start. She also likes you more for saving her. Also the guy that has the horn has a item that gives 17 int very handy for trickster rouge or mage warriors or dual class form melee/range class. Best way to do this is be on the roof and range down the group by consentrating one guy at a time. You also forgot the anti spider spear to get that you have to get the shaft from the dead guy north of the grove his friends will talk about an owlbear send them to kill it and let them take the hits the owlbear has the spearhead after you have that combine them from inventory. The spear goes well with the boots in the spiders cave.

The spear is also extremely effective against beholderkin which Cotton went over in another vid
That int helm is also amazing for lone wolf/duo runs as it allows you to make all those important arcane/religion/investigation checks.
As soon as you come into range of Waukeen’s Rest, if you don’t immediately do that quest (which I totally missed) you miss out on the quest reward and one of the party members is not happy with you
You can get some insane blue weapons from killing the guards outside of the room with Princess Gut: Blooded Greataxe. Gold Wyrmling Staff
Yeah, you need to do it before the whole camp gets aggro - otherwise I think they run away.
when you start the game on the ship if u kill the mob that he says activate the console ill take care of this guy u get a 2h sword 6-17 damage with a fire enchant on it

Don’t have to kill, just use command spell and he’ll drop the sword
my only advice, sidequest like crazy in act 1. once you complete the mainquest of act 1 and save the druids, a lot of the sidequests tied to anyone in that village auto complete after you have the celebration. this leads to a lot of side quests going down fail states like people dying and rewards being locked out. did this on my solo file and i was kinda sad because i started finding pieces of side quest material that were now irrelevant.
Damn I just saved the druids and literally went back to camp now for the "celebration" lol is that really the end to act 1? I thought I was doing a side quest not the main one 😅
A note about alchemy, it’s probably good to respec someone who just sits at camp into an alchemy wizard and have them do your alchemy.
There spares at camp anyways may aswll make them usefull instead of just dialog slaves 😂

I'm going to be taking Shadowheart and Karlach on my team in hopes of romancing them both into a poly relationship with me (also having a cleric and barbarian is really helpful gameplay wise). And i'm going to bring Astarion because rogues and vampires are cool (I also suspect his high standing in the city of Baldur's Gate will be greatly helpful in Act 3 when we reach the city). So that's going to be my party of 4 in my first playthrough. In my second playthrough I'll finally bring along the green chick, Wyll, and Gale as my party members to learn their stories. lol

The Susur weapon is best as a dagger or sickle. Once you get stronger weapons, you can still utilize this weapon as a projectile to throw at mages to keep them from casting. Remains useful all game 😊 *Edit, for some reason, the susser dagger thrown does not apply the anti magic effect. This is no longer usable*

@@davidlopez6517Have an Eldritch Knight Fighter bind to the dagger and they can throw it as much as they like. It'll come back every time. I reclassed Karlach into an Eldritch Knight specifically for that. Sure, the knife doesn't silence when thrown, but she can still use it up close when the time comes and then throw it when nobody is nearby.
I think you missed the mourning frost, a purple weapon staff you can get from act one by collecting its three parts from different drow and putting them all together at an anvil. Gives bonus effect for casting any cold damage spells and acts as a plus one staff too
You can go down the well in the Blighted Village. You fight some spiders but you also find a pair of boots that allow you to walk on webs without getting stuck.

I heard "rage gaming" and immediately got shot back to middleschool watching build battles or binding of issac. Didn't realize the channel changed and continued on, hope Rage himself is doing okay
Light containers like Backpacks, Pouches, etc. can be used to organize your inventory. The game is very good at looking through them for items such as a shovel or potions on your hotbar, even through bags within bags. You can add the containers themselves or individual items to your Custom hobar, too. For example, my rogue has two bows that I like to use in different situations. I put both bows on my Custom hotbar and the spare inside a pouch inside a backpack in my inventory, safely out of view at shops so I won't accidentally sell it and separate from my consumables. Clicking on the unused bow icon in my hotbar switches the weapons, no muss no fuss, though doing so in combat would take an Action like normal.
In the burning building moreover, there´s an amazing warhammer, which gives a toggleable passive that adds thunder AoE to every jump action landing - very cool for Lae´Zel. Look for an Opulent Chest in one of the 2nd floor bedrooms - there´s also another guy you can save next door iirc. Game doesn´t really make you feel like looting around in the fire, so I wonder how many players found this :))
I found it but wasnt able to get him and the loot so i decides to leave the item behind
You should maybe mention the tiny fact, that a gargantuan spider matriarch with her brood is waiting behind the crack in the smith and you have to defeat her before going to the Underdark. You also need Featherfall to enter the Underdark from there. Plus you will land directly before those two Minotaurs, who are close enough, that they can detect the party, if not careful. The hardest is the spider matriarch though, who imo is one of the more challenging boss fights early on.
Well you can actually cheese her by stealth agroing her, she will tp on her webs, one fire spell cantrip and she will fall loose one action and loose 1/5 of her hp i've done it with lv3 party with laezel, main character warrior, shadow and gayle
@@1006mop I myself did that fight a few times, I just think, some new player might stumble in there and find themselves in some predicament.
The Spider den is a very tough fight early on, you can also enter the underdark via the Goblin camp, it brings you out in the Selune Temple outpost, and you get the waypoint straight away. If you free the goblin captive in the grove, and sneak her out thru the back of the little prison area she gets you into the camp without needing to pass any checks or fighting.
@@XFlaviousX Yeah or you can enter the Underdark through Auntie Ethels lair, you don't even need to fight her for that ( well only the two rounds above)
I just snuck to where I could use a pushing spell like shockwave I think it’s called, or gust, then just pushed her into one of the pits around her area and she does instantly.
if you have a mass collection of items to put away, you can click the first to highlight, then SHIFT+click and it'll auto highlight everything between so you can select an entire type or row to deposit quicker, it helped me out with time when i slayed the goblin camp
You can let shadowheart swap out a spell for "command" and then tell the big angry demon on the ship to drop his weapon. Its 55% chance but you can always load autosave and then just steal it from him :)
Alot of early game money 1.Hit level 4(feat,ability score) 2.Hire the halfling from Hirelings and spec her 4 levels of rogue with 17dex and expertise in slight of hand. 3.Get a spell caster that can cast sleep and enchance ability(Cat for dex). 4.Gloves of power are gloves that drop from a goblin with a shield,he is amoung the first scripted goblin fight when you get to the front gates of the grove. 5.sell basic weapons or anything that has value less than 40 for easy pickpocket DC to the merchant to drain his gold to zero. 5.Cast enhance ability on the rogue(Guidance doesnt effect pickpocketing)Sleep the trader(Dosen't trigger Temporary Hostile) you can lower his max ho by lowering the difficultly for level 1 sleep or use level 2 slot on normal. 7. Turn on turn based mode when hes asleep and Pickpocket anything you feel comfortable with stealing,stealing all your -40 value items is a very low roll which is almost guaranteed. He will always have a camp supply pack for sell so you can immediately go to camp,long rest(resets trader's inventory/gold)and repeat until you have stacks of whatever you want. If you fail a pickpocket DC,you have to wait 1 round of combat to pickpocket again even when their asleep.Since they were asleep during the pickpocketing,they wont try and find the thief. ENJOY!!
In the Blighted Village there is an apothecary with a set of blue gear titled Bracers of Defense that raises your AC by one when unarmored, the building is what the Waypoint sigil is attached to. In the basement there is a moving bookshelf and then a mirror you'll need to interact with and answer properly to get in, the Bracers are in a chest on the edges of the room. Good luck to all the caster, Monks, and Barbarians going for these ❤️
My "Way of the Open Hand" lvl 4 monk running with these Bracers and Unarmoured Defense (I pumped her Wisdom) is already at AC 19 ... pretty awesome. Terrific Act 1 gloves. Cheers!
Hot tip you can use shift click or control click to multiselect items meaning you can fast transfer tons of items.
You can get la zel in the beginning with shadowheart, just leave her at the last healpoint in the tutorial, she will get wrecked by the 2 Cambions, and her body will be right there near yourself and shadowheart, just resurrect her and she joins
You can also select multiple items in your inventory and send it to camp instead of doing it 1 by 1. You can either keep ctrl pressed and select what you want, or click on 1 item then long press shift and select another item and it will highlight all the items in between the 2 you selected.
So glad this game plays so well on the steam deck and that you don't have to be always online. Now I can play whenever and wherever. Live this game

You don't actually have to do the dungeon to get withers, just progress story untill you reach goblin camp and he should just appear one night, the dungeon is just a "early" way to get him
Doing the Crypt early on gives you the speak with the dead Amulet, which is handy instead of wasting a spell slot.

There’s another blue pair of gloves in that same village that gives +2 to armor when not wearing any armor. Outstanding early game gloves for a Barb, Monk, or spell caster. As you enter the village from the front gate go into the building on the left, then down into the cellar through the trap door behind the bar, then find the hidden switch to move the book case, complete the mirror puzzle (just google it), then you’ll find the gloves in a chest somewhere in the secret lab. There’s also a summon quasit scroll that Gale (or any wizard) can use to learn a better familiar to summon than the default trash from find familiar. Works well in a wizard/warlock, summoner build that uses tome pact for the Necro summons instead of pact of the chain for an imp.
It's very tempting to save scum and I have no beef with it, but sometimes it's more fun to fail and isn't always actually a bad thing. Sometimes failing things leads to more interesting situations/scenes where you get a lot more information than you would have had everything gone perfectly. I was worried at first that if I failed any important roles it'd kill me and end the game, but it actually ended up making it a lot more interesting!
Yeah, my general rule with it is I’ll save beforehand and see how everything plays out and if I just really don’t like the direction it takes my character in then I will reload
Sometimes it’s also just really funny 😆
In the area where you find Withers, before you hit the switch to open the door and the skeletons raise and fight you, loot the skeleton bodies, take their weapons.

Always save after leaving combat. I was corpse looting after slaughtering some gobbos, which had used all the party's spell slots and reduced most character's HP to single digits, and opened a door to what I thought was going to be an empty room with some chests to loot only to be jumped by 4 more gobbos. Save scummy, maybe, but I had to then go through the entire fight from scratch anyway as those 4 low-level gobbos one-shotted the exhausted party. Save scumming to avoid unneccessary combat repetition is fine, imho.(... and save scumming checks to ensure you get Scratch is _always_ acceptable. The best doggo on the Sword Coast!)
If you let the bard Volo rip out your eye, he gives you a new one with permanent see Invisibility.
With the Susser tree part, there is a path up to the bark that avoids the mage. I actually just learned from this video that he even exists. But if you approch the tree from the north and climb the first set of roots, you will come to the bark after killing just 2 hookhands.

Atl shift lets you select multiple items at one to store/wares/etc. Pick up chests and bags to help organize crap and/or vendor trash
use all the backpacks you pick up on the road to organize your loot. then just send it too the camp stash in one click. much easier to manage your trash that way. i just use one bag too toss all my trash in and as soon as i become encumbered i send the bag too the camp.
Disband the group. Reform with just three members, send the fourth to stand next to a vendor. Play, loot whatever. Use Tab to send all loot to the fourth person to sell as soon as you can. Easy for big loot and selling, like after major battles.

Another tip is you can examine enemies to to the bonuses and resistance to see who's a bigger threat and not wast your time doing no damage also you can speak one point in a class to get amazing passive like fright on crit or extra health for killing enemies for warlock gaining extra survivability or cc and op early build would be mainly barb with one point in sorcerer to get dreconic bloodline for extra ar if you don't want to be draconic race and the feind warlock for extra hitponts for killing
Tip for Shadowheart. You can get her as a companion while you are still on the ship. Just have to figure out how to free her while on the ship still

I think having withers only charge you 100 is a really good choice. Doesn’t punish players for wanting to experiment and the gold cost set to reclaiming your oath as a Paladin is well thought out too. 1000 gold is still pretty hefty but really makes you think if you wanna role play as a honorable Paladin and it really does affect your choices throughout the game. Really simple but also very perceptive of what players want to do in a rpg game
You can also pickpocket your gold from him and he won't react, making it basically a free respec
@@XxDelta00xX ooooohhhhhhhhhhh - question yall, if you switch from a Paladin to a (say.. fighter or rogue do you still have that oath to keep and vice versa, will you suddenly have an oath to uphold if respeccing to Paladin?
@@ThinkingCap_ if you multi class while being a paladin you will still have your oath. However if you change classes completely you will no longer have your oath.

You forgot the best starting weapon. The 2h sword you get from killing that boss in the tutorial (the demon that is fighting the illithid)
You can also use shift to select all between 2 clicks or ctrl to select all clicked items then send them all the camp in one click. Much easier lol

lump's war horn was paramount in my winning the fight against the spider queen in the well. very good item to have in that fight
You missed the ring just outside of that village. Jump over the broken bridge and follow it around to the left to the creek. Continuing follow that path toward Karlach. towards the end of the path that follows the creek there is a skeleton that has a ring that gives you a +2 to stealth, +2 to sleight of hand and - 1 to charisma. Also if you kill the ogre's they drop a headband piece that improve intelligence to 17, which may allow you to do some interesting multiclass options with a high intelligence stat that you might not otherwise have. Like a bard wizard or something.

how did you not free shadowheart on the ship before leaving? What about the druid companion? What about going the evil route and getting Minthara? You miss a lot it seems in your playthroughs.

Tip: The skeletons you have to fight before you get to Withers - before pressing the button to get to Withers, go up to all the skeletons laying on the floor and take their weapons. Yes some will use magic on you but the others will just attempt to fist fight you which equals to taking less damage.
Hold CTRL and left click on a bunch of items then you can right click and send them all to your camp at once. Or shift click one item then another lower in your inventory and it will auto select all items in between the two allowing you to transfer items to and from containers much faster 👍🏻
To have successful pickpocket, get one teammate to talk to shop keeper, have another to cast guidance ability on the Rogue, and then cast darkness spell. It will block all view inside it, and you can just pickpocket away. You will need to be able to see in darkness (Devil Sight from Warlock level 2) Just press F5 after each successful item stolen, F8 to reload if caught.
The greatsword with silence on it will carry you through a BUNCH of boss fights. If the fight has a key spell caster or spell casting boss … coat your weapon in drow poison then go to town. Each individual hit with have two chance to negate that enemy. At level 5 that is easily two hits (four saving throws needed) and can readily be 3 attacks (6 separate saving throws needed) in a single round with things like frenzy barbarian or great weapon master, or a pommel strike as a bonus action.

Once you unlock withers and have any random three npcs, you dont need anyone else because you can just reroll them to whatever you want.
Scratch is a good boi
One tip no one has ever mentioned is you should have the person with the highest CHA do the selling and purchasing. It will save you loads of cash.
You can also use the barter screen when trading to improve how much the seller likes you by giving them mundane items for free. I collect all the junk and chuck it into a backpack, then give them to the trader until their like is maxed out. This gives you better prices for the good stuff, both buying and selling. Also a traders inventory stock re-sets every time you have a long rest, or a character levels up.
Withers showed up in my camp before the ruins. Basically I had entered the ruins and killed the bandits but didn’t realise there was a secret room so I left and he showed up
There is a necklace of guidance right after the first grove fight. Just climb the cliff to the left of the battlefield and search the skeleton
When you save the small party from the goblins at the gate?
IF you kill those 3 ogres for hire you can loot them for an OP helmet that boosts your intellect to 17, regardless of what amount you set your intellect at in char creation.
There is also the True strike javelin in the crypt. You have to disarm the trap on the sarcophagus.
You can get Shadowheart on the ship. If you go into the room to the right of her pod (directly in front of you when you enter her area), there's a dead body that has the key to her pod. Take that back and put it into the control center right beside her pod and you'll unlock it and save her without having to wait till you crash. She'll appear on the beach unconscious just a few yards away from where you wake up at. If you don't choose to save her, she'll appear at the location mentioned in the video. Lae'Zel will be captured by Tieflings no matter what when you crash land.
I started at the beach, walked a bit to the door, recruited Shadowheart and entered the ruins. How do you have 4 companions so early?!?! Thank you :)
You can rescue Gale from a portal just north of the crashed nautiloid, and Astarion is standing on a path just west of the nautiloid. (Directions might be wrong, but just know that they're all right around the nautiloid)

Tip: I'm not sure if anyone knows about this but I did find out during one of my test runs even if you don't explore the ruins, Withers does show up at your camp at some point (I think after you initiate the looking for Halsin quest). But when you do end up exploring the ruins after Withers shows up it does add more steps to exploring the ruins quest where you have to ask Withers if those ruins were his resting place (better off to just do the ruins when you get Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale, And Lae'zel imo)
Thank you. I have been save scuming because I have never played a D&D game before and it is overwhelming me. There is so much to know and how to do certain tasks I need an encyclopedia just play play this game and I love it. I have the same feeling I had playing my first Dark souls game and now I am hooked.
Dude don't save scum! let the dice tell your story and your be pleasantly surprised on how your character's story goes :) though if you want to save scum go ahead, that's a way to do it too
yes, please... DnD loses its magic if you start to "meta game" just enjoy yourself in the immersion and do what you would actually do with the knowledge you have... its the most fun and authentic experience.

The game is literally the encyclopedia dude, things tell you what they are if you just read. Relying so much on the wiki just kills the point of having a fun random story if you just know what everything is even before you experience it
Wither's Hirelings are kind of critical for Dark Urge runs where you literally murder your entire party.

came to waukeens, and the npcs were just wandering around, the middle door was opened and even after i talked to them they didnt give me any quest, when i went upstairs and forced the barricade it exploded and no1 was there :) so no blue weapons for me :D

This game is so good, I have a blast clicking right button on every item in inventory and clicking send to camp. 1000 items? No problem, a few hours and you're done. I love it when I come upon a stack of items, you have to move up the slider to send more than 1 item! Truly, a master piece of a game. When you play this thing, having a job is unnecessary - you can do labor inside this game!

The withers encounter bugged for me, never showing up when i opened the sarcophagus, however he did move to my camp anyways, i wonder if the quest will ever complete itself, still wants me to open the sarcophagus
Same happened to me. I'm assuming there will be a patch eventually for the quest. I'm just glad we got access to withers!

That's the risk you take when playing a game this massive and complex on day 1. It's why i'm fine waiting another month for it to release on PS5. Let the PC folk find most of the bugs before I play. lol
If he shows up like that in your camp, go back to the sarcophagus, click the plaque, it'll send you to the next quest to talk to withers in your camp and you can finish the quest!
