SUMMARY
- Your brain is like a hard drive - the space is limited. Remember Sherlock Holmes? He couldn’t name all the planets of the Solar system - this was not because he missed school or something like that, but because he was too smart to have such irrelevant information in his memory. He deliberately erased facts he would never need. This is what your brain does: it protects you from overloading with information. That’s why all new data is stored in the short-term memory, not the long-term one. So, if you don’t repeat it or use it, you forget it very quickly.
A German psychologist, Hermann Ebbinghaus researched the memory and its mechanisms. He described the Forgetting Curve which shows that just one hour after learning something new we forget more than half of the learned information. One day later we remember only about 30% percent. Well, you see where this is going.
- There is a memorization technique called «Spaced repetition». To keep some information in your head for a longer time, you need to try to put it into your long-term memory. Forced memorization is not very effective in this case because your brain can’t make sense of the information quickly and form strong associations. Here it all depends on the reason why you are learning something.
- To memorize something quickly, repeat the information right after learning it.
The second repetition should be after 15-20 minutes.
You don’t need to return to the information between repetitions - just rest and do something different. Let your brain relax.
Repeat the learned material the third time after 6-8 hours.
And you should have the final repetition 24 hours after the first contact with the information.

What i recently found useful was , three steps : 1. Understand the concept with full concentration 2. Write it out in your own words , like teaching someone or yourself 3. Record an audio of explaining yourself whatever you had written And now after few days if you take and read the notes along with audio , it just takes less time to recall everything and obviously it stays in your mind for long Note: for all this you need to actually study and have interest in studying
It’s a lovely advice will give it a try
I liked it
I wish everybody accepted your advice, that was the best advice i have ever heard. Specialy the last one.

i am an Indian student currently in my last year of school. I am preparing for jee advanced , an examination to get admission into one of the most renowned and respected colleges of India. I have been preparing for it from last 1.5 years. I have been taught by many teachers. All they said in common to every student in my batch was to revise again and again the concepts in intervals of weeks , months and sometimes just days. so i can confirm that the ways shown here really work. In layman terms , we can consider that each revision is like a shell of information or data . the more you revise something, the thicker the shell gets and you remember it for a longer time. One more tip that can give from my side is that before studying have at least an hour as a gap between the last time you used phone , tv or something grabbing your attention (like music). this way you will be able to concentrate better and your productivity and speed will increase. PS: It really works for me. Hope you yes you stranger :) too find it useful. have a nice day

Me too as an Indian student who had just finished my 10th boards, i completely agree to you di.. The more you revise, the more u can remember. It actualy works for an exam prep
I memorize 90% of what I studied before the exam starts, but the main problem is that, what I studied is not part of the exam.

Another effective method is to 'teach' the information you just learned to others. This is one reason why teachers can eventually explain various topics without referring to any text. The more you teach others, the more you will remember the information. For example, if you have a study group, have each group member take turns teaching the others about a certain topic.
It's correct and proven practically in our daily lives....
it called fine man method
Exactly! Teaching to me is a great method for memorization because it is in being performed with excitement.

A twelfth way to learn and memorize something is by using the method used by Physics Nobel Prize winner Richard Fyenman: 1) Approach the subject as if you already know it, 2) Explain it to yourself as if you are teaching it to somebody else and make it simple, speak out loud, 3) Simplify the subject as if you are teaching it to somebody who doesn't have a clue. Feynman used to say, "If you have simplified the subject so that you can teach it to your grandmother, then you will have learnt the subject and it will stay in your memory for a long time".
Logical idea👍 Now, I'll definitely try this.
I do this, because ultimately, the bored part of my brain is forced to listen in and learn, so I am actually teaching myself
True
Maurice C. Muller-Quinhoneiro i try teaching but i feel like i get distracted
This is the best way for me to learn (based from experience). Speaking out loud plays a great role in studying since I could use various of senses and motor skills that enable me to remember what I studied. I'm more of an auditory learner. So if I try to rephrase the things I've read, it registers and stays longer in my brain.
I watched this video several times to get a correct methodology to my mind. Thank u very much for this .Everbody must watch this😊
Brain has unlimited space!! We remember so many things without any efforts. Some times we remember many older memories, but we forget recently happened things
Spaced repetition:- For Short Time:- immediately, 15-20 minutes, 6-8 hours, 24 hours For Long Time:- immediately, 20-30 minutes, 1 day, 2-3 weeks Techniques:- 11) Try to Understand what you learn 10) Learn the most necessary information 9) Serial Position Effect:- Keep critical information at beginning and end, as they are memorized the best 8) Interference Theory:- Take breaks after 15-20 minutes, do not try to learn same information 7) Learn Opposite Things 6) Build your own Mind Palace 5) Use "nail words":- One learned word to another 4) Make up stories 3) Use a Tape Recorder 2) Visualize 1) Choose only the best materials

A great mnemonic that works for me regarding numbers is to associate some life event with those last two numbers. If we are trying to memorize years, this is especially helpful. For example, Leonardo di Vinci was born 500 years before me. My dad was born in 1914 and 14 is Valentine's Day, so associating these two things help with any number ending in 14. The more bizarre the image you conjure up in your head, the easier it is to remember.
Thank you Bright side!.. definitely gonna try!😍

Don’t let anything distract you when your studying, leave everything aside and focus on your studies. Put away your phones and other things that might distract you. Afterwards learn with understanding and not just sit there day dream or don’t know what your learning.(ask for help from friends, online websites or best from your teachers). Study frequently and give yourself break time. Don’t over stress yourself by studying very long, study about 2.30hr-3.00hr a day and take a break afterwards study again for about 1-2hr before bed time. Have a quiet area and study , when studying don’t play to rough music.Instead play calm music with no lyrics as lyrics will make you focus on the words then the thing your studying. *Own personal preference* Finally when studying don’t think of anything else then studying *Remember having dedication and confidence help you improve better.

Take cold shower is better than take shower

@FeArleSs47 You should, in my opinion, study one subject at a time. You spread out your seven subjects throughout the week, Monday to Sunday. That is how I would do it
What if i don't recall them?

Unbelievable, incredible video.I watch immense video but this was the most significant. thank you. Though it is a considerable video, i forget everything after reading?
What I know is that you cant keep studying for 5 hours no break, you need to do something else because you'll forget it if you keep going over and over on the same subject.
The most effective tips are • Read the lesson 3-4 times.... • Study for 30 min, then take 10 min rest, then again study for 20 min.... *Don't take any electronic device while taking rest, then the time you spent on learning is ..... wasted...* • Make important notes and try to keep track on those everyday - in the afternoon - in the night *Try not to see them in the morning or evening because you have to keep time for the main lesson also* ... right? • CHILL and DON'T WORRY! 😊😊

Thank you very much now I can remember things for a long period of time thank u ❤❤❤
*Time management:* - repeat the information throughout different portions of you days, weeks, and maybe even months - make sure to space out the time you review the information with periods of time doing completely different activity - don’t learn two different topics with many similarities at the same time, your brain may start to think they are the same thing and combine, therefor confuse, the information *Organizing the Information:* - understand the information to provide the foundation necessary to organize all the different pieces of information covering the topic - prioritize the important information when structuring it in your head, then go back and add all the extra details - when selecting which information is the most important to first learn, you can further prioritize the memory of specific information by putting the most important topics at the beginning and end of how you choose to organize your information (this is because people typically remember information at the beginning and end of an organization method, the most) *Associating the information:* - associating information with other information can be helpful since if you can’t remember something one way, maybe it will come back to you if you think back on topics you associated it with. Examples of this is: - associating content with opposite topic content - associating content with same topic content - associating content with locations *Memorize the same content with different forms of memory (the more places you store it, the more likely you are to recall it since it’s repeated throughout your mind), such as:* - sight (images) - hearing (sounds) - muscle memory (motion) - smell (scents) - creative memory (stories) *WARNING:* If you are going to take the time to memorize information, make sure it isn’t outdated. Otherwise, it would of been pointless.
Thanks!

I have a tip that I think most others know, but just in case... During your study sessions, chew some gum. Make sure to remember the flavor (try to use something you eat normally, or something that's memorable because it's unusual to you). Then, chew the same flavor at your exam or whenever you need it. Because brains associate memories to several things (A feeling of disorientation when sick, pain after falling, or perhaps just something you saw while learning.), it will translate the memory to that particular flavor. Chewing gum will also help with stress, since your brain says "Oh, you're eating? Well, we must not be in danger." and calms the nerves. At least, that's what I've heard...
Scarlett Acid yep psychological studies have been done to verify this with great success

And using what I call a blueprint method which is my personal way of learning in that you associate what you're learning with the closest thing you already know to it and then just add in the pieces that are different. This helps you learn the new thing while also reinforcing what you already know. It's far superior to anything mentioned in this video which is just a list of memory tricks.
Whenever I face trouble sleeping I missed my school books so much because those are not only the source of knowledge but they were also the source of my sleeping.

Ty I'll teach my bro I know he is 5 years and don't understand what I say but I remembered what I studied 🤣🤣🤣
@@masteranant7490 lol 😂😂😂😂 don't do that bro,
1. Some of the effective ways to memorize things is memorizing while doing something you enjoy. Like eating while reading. Or listening to audios while exercising. Or turn the topic into a song. 2. Another way is to read, understand and practice. This way you are more likely to know better whether you have understood the topic correctly and train your mind with remembering your mistakes. It helps a lot because whenever you start making the mistake again you will be reminded of the way you should be correcting the mistake. This is what helps me memorize books .. 3.Repeating is a good way to memorize. Start with reading and understanding. If you really understand, there should not be much problem in remembering. If you are memorizing for exam, remember to read, (understand if you can or ask someone who has understood the topic), listen and repeat the process a few times. 4.Using application is effective as well. Knowing how to use what you have learnt makes it easier for you to answer exam questions considering applications in real life situations, especially if you do it often. 5. Remove all distractions. If your phone is a distraction, keep it away. If it is your social media, log out or just delete if it is nothing important. If it is your siblings, ask your parents or other old enough family member to help avoid the distractions such as behaving the younger siblings if that is the problem. 6. Choose a suitable time and location to study. Discuss with your parents/family about your scheduled study plans. Tell your friends when you are stidying to so that their activities would not affect you and you can focus better.
This list is longer than my li👁fe line

Awesome information, thanks
In my experience of memorizing my exams, I usually do it 1am - 3am,Why? My mind that is very fresh, free from stress and sound. It's like your brain is being reset after you sleep, and sleep early do it 7pm to avoid being sleepy when the examination begin.
This is unreasonable, if I have only one night before my exam I won’t have time to repeat it four times!
so you must study 1 wk before the said exam
try visualizing. it help a lot
🙏🙏thanks alot u have realy helped
I NEEDED THISSS THANK YOUUUU!!!!
the best way to memorise smething for long is to recall it before sleeping... it will get into our subconcious mind which is more powerfull than our conviousness😀 and do make a video on it too

This is the realest advice 😂✋
This thing you said covers everything....... only if people knew how the subconscious mind works
It always works for me when i need to remember something

I don't have a single page that I can repeat all the time. I got huge books and no time to repeat what I read. Also, I forget everything 100% within 20minutes. Feel me?
Aaliyah Sheikh 😀
Aaliyah Sheikh I can feel.

When tomorrow is your exam and you have no other way!!

One other method I use in recalling what I've read is the use of Mnemonics or Abbreviations. This works because you can memorize various things with any mnemonic so it'll be easy to recall them when you need them.
Heres a tip: Play the video at 1.25× speed or more to save time.
Thats what I did 😂😂
My Đoàn Tử hee
that's really what i do during exams to save time!
Master Clash from three dots (on the right) then change playback speed
Repeat repeat Concentration Crest own story with words Remember teachers explanation Read early morning and night Do only one work No noise pollution Dont compare with others ur capacity write what u read repeat what u write memorize
