Join us, Daphne and Ian, as we embark on our new chateau renovation projects! This week Jerome and Anthony help prepare our roof for a new staircase and take us on some mushroom hunting! We find an antique staircase from the Southern France and give it a complete restoration. Daphne's dear friend Chelsea is visiting us from California to help work on some projects and join us to explore the cliffside village in Etretat, Normandy!
Our "beau chateau" (The 500-year-old, Chateau De Lesigny), is located near Paris, France. Most of the structures around the chateau domain need a full restoration, so we are investing everything we have into making the property thrive! We are learning more about french culture and developing new skills along the way!
As a French/American UC Berkeley graduate in Agriculture (Daphne), and a U.S. Air Force Tactical Response Force Veteran/ Kinesiologist (Ian), we share a love for challenges and adventure. We have a long road ahead of us and we are excited to share the experience with you!

Wow, you and your friend look like sisters too. Before you introduced her I thought, “Is that her sister?” The property looks absolutely gorgeous in the mist and low fog. Such beautiful filming of it. And the grass lawns look pristine. You’ve done incredible work. So proud of you both and all those who’ve helped at every level. What an accomplishment! Recently, I watched a young man put a iron spiral staircase in his home. He didn’t clean his up because his home is in an old industrial building, and he thought it fit the character of the place better that way. But it does show him building the staircase, how he put it together, All the trials and errors he went through to get it right. It was very interesting! His channel is called the Round Corner if you wanna see it. Your Staircase is beautiful I can hardly wait to see it in place.😊

Merci for highlighting Normandie in your vlog. For your next visit, kindly be aware that Etretat Beach gives access to Jambourg Beach through the cave you mentioned. The cave was built to give fishermen access to both beaches. It is only a accessible at low tide, and it appears you visited at high tide. Like the cave, there are many beautiful châteaux to visit in Normandie, though some of us are secret. Stay longer next time, as Normandie will enchant you.

The stairs are stunning, perfect choice. Ian, whenever you need to plug an electrical cord into another cord a trick is to tie them together first then plug them together. You forest may need to be thinned to let the sun in to have healthier soil.

Double check but one looked like turkey tail. Great as a tea but to hard to eat. I think they classify it as a Super Tea. Amazing stairs.
